I got my tires replaced at NTB and didn’t realize they hadn’t balanced them properly until I was on a highway for a three and half hour drive to another state and my car was vibrating whenever I went over 60mph. I ended up having to get my tires rebalanced elsewhere because I was concerned for my safety and my car. When I called to try to get a refund for the cost of needing to get my tires rebalanced at another shop, the person I talked to was extremely rude and condescending and talked over me constantly when I was trying to explain the situation. I am very disappointed with the quality of work and the customer service and I would not recommend this location.

There is an employee by the name of Dave Carter who is the Epitome of Great Customer Service. He goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied. If something can not be done as planned, he Will find the best alternative. He communicates every step of the way. I truly appreciate his efforts and ability to make his customer comfortable and put them at ease.

Came here for an emergency from out of town and had a great experience! The mechanic was super helpful and informative. He even went as far as telling me warranty information about my car that would save me money. After receiving my oil change, my car was given back with stains on my cloth seats, my door and after wiping my steering wheel and gear shift off, there was definitely whatever that transferred from the mechanics gloves onto my car. Today was my first and last time at this location. I am no stranger to NTB and I have never gotten my car back with oil or whatever on it. Not really sure today was my unlucky day but maybe you guys should try covering the seats beforehand for future and existing customers. Also, not wearing dirty gloves when transporting customers would be appreciated.

Had a flat while traveling through the area & found NTB. They were able to get me in & out within an hour of my arrival. The tech who repaired my tire also inspected the others & found a screw in a tire. He also repaired that tire. Thanks for taking care of my family & I while we were traveling through.

The staff at National Tire & Battery have in the past have been good, but recently seemed to have been going above and beyond in customer service. The facility is clean and the prices are very reasonable.

Dave did a great job of getting me 4 new tires after I blew one out on the highway with out Any problems. Only problem I had was that they threw my valve stem caps on the ground with out replacing them back onto the new tires. And also they made one of my center hub caps on my rims loose so it came off somewhere on the road so now I have to spend more money and buy all new center hub caps for my rims.

This shop has lied twice. Once they said they had to charge extra labor because my battery was under the wheel well. Second they lied about rotating my tires. All tires still in the same location

I have to update my review as I recently had to have additional work, which NTB should have corrected when they replaced the electrical wires on my alternator. Replaced alternator 3 years ago but the electrical was still part of the problem. This latest work involved their outrageous labor charge of $150.00 to replace the electrical harness to the alternator which included $10.00 for testing the battery. Regardless of not charging for the wiring, which shouldve been checked-tested-replaced 3 years ago, and the generous $10.00 coupon, the labor charge is OUTRAGEOUS! Plus, it seems theyve been stringing me along on the alternator issue for past 3-4 years. I like the mechanics at NTB Route 40 @ Lotte Plaza but I dont recommend them anymore.

I recently visited NTB and my experience was Great. The old car i had hasnt ran in years almost 7 years i needed new Tires and battery I called Mr Tire and they gave me a $1000.00 quote. So my wife said got to NTB and thats where I met Mr. Dave Carter who informed me that he can beat that price and also recommended some service work that NTB offers. Mr. Dave Carter was very professional, knowledgeable and Courteous to the sensitivity of me wanting to rebuild my car. As a shopper I look for these type of qualities in people because it speaks on the integrity of their company Thanks Mr. Dave Carter I will be bring my daughters car and all of my family cars to NTB waving Bye to Mr Tire.

Just had tire installation completed:Scheduling (2/5): Does not mean much, even if you are scheduled to a slot. It does not mean they reserve anytime for you for that time, just when they expect you to drop off.Pricing (3/5): Reasonable pricing but keep in mind if you buy from tire rack, they will charge higher than what tire rack indicates for this installer. I made mistake of shipping to my house as I wanted to inspect tires first, big mistake. Was a bit of hassle trying to get them to match the pricing they said would be automatic if tire rack had shipped to them directly.Workmanship (1/5): tire balancing is good. tire pressures are good and mostly even, (within 1 psi on all wheels).lug nut torque... They may have inexperienced techs today but do not be surprised they use air tools to torque your lugs. This may cause issues for you on the highway trying to replace a tire if you get a flat. You may not be able to get it off to put a spare on....My 330ft lb impact wrench could NOT break their lug nut torque they applied. I took out my 2-ft 1/2 breaker bar, no luck. Adding a 2 ft extension to make a 4-ft effective 1/2 breaker bar.. still would not go. Finally had to go to a propane torch on each lug nut for 10 seconds prior to using my impact wrench to break them free. The manufacturer spec on these lug nuts is 80 ft-lb. They likely applied over 500ft-lb with their air tools due to either negligence or laziness. 1 hours of additional work myself to fix the poor work quality... A shop specializing in tires should be expected of better (this is exactly in their wheelhouse...)If you do get your tires installed or replaced here, check if you can actually crack the lug nuts free unless you plan to drive around with a propane torch and impact tool or have AAA as backup.

Long time visitor, first time complainer. Technicians late, causing the FOH issues, techs arguing with advisors in the lobby, and a 30 minute phone call on the only check out station held up the like for in person service.

Dropped my car off for tire repair while I waited at NTB on 8815 Baltimore National Pike. I was actual able to schedule a repair time for drop off. Brought the car in, they performed an internal with external patch (note this is the best type of patch for repairs, not offered at other places) for a very reasonable price with fast and courteous service.

Worst experience ever!!! Dropped off my flat tire and was told that they will check on it right away and call me back. I waited close to 3 hours with no answers. I finnally called to find out he was just working on my tire and will call back right away. I waited another hour with no answer. I finally came back into the store to find out the tire cannot be repaired and they had a new tire ready to install but never call me. Horrible communication and customer service. I will not come back again.

The staff here was courteous the manager of this location Was unlike anyone else I’ve ever experienced. I have used in TV my entire life or at least for the last 15-20 yrs. they were the best. They even let my dog pickles party beside the building. we had been traveling for weeks and got a flat tire as well as subsequently needing a battery that was about a month from expiration. Went ahead and got an oil change. They gave me a veterans discount. Support the troops!

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!!!!!1. The mechanic that worked on my car didnt tighten the plug completely and the oil leaked out in my garage and my oil alert light went off to warn me that I had less than 1 quart of oil while I was on the highway with my children2. I had to drive to Merchants in Owings Mill so that the could find the leak, plug it, replace my oil, clean up the oil spills, AND found a wrench left under my hood. I will post a picture of the mess in my garage later.3. The customer service woman was very rude when we picked up the vehicle.

A neighbor of mine recommended I go here to get a tire plugged, so I went despite the less than stellar reviews. Customer service needs a big upgrade, which I can tell based on the automatic responses given here in the review section. I was greeted when I walked in and I started to tell the employee what I was there for, but he said to hold on. All I wanted to know what is the cost of a tire repair. He was talking low and kind of mumbling so maybe he said to wait originally, I don’t know. But after standing there at the counter for a few minutes while he entered stuff into the computer I just walked out. It’s not that difficult to say I’ll be with you in just a few minutes. But I got the feeling that if I would’ve sat down I would’ve been in there for another 10 or 20 minutes being ignored. i’ve worked in sales and customer service before, if you are doing something that’s going to take a while but you can answer a question for a client in 30 seconds, you should stop what you’re doing give them their answer so that they are satisfied and then get back to the longer project.This is what I was expecting him to say: we will have to look at your tires to what type of repair they need, but the price normally ranges from $10-$60. If you give us about five or 10 minutes I can have that answer for you.😒people these days

I called and scheduled an appointment for 9:00 am to investigate why my check engine light had come on. I told them I would wait while they inspected the car. My appointment was the first appointment of the day, so I was not too surprised when I arrived at 9:00 am and the store was closed. An employee arrived at 9:05 am, but they did not have keys. This was the only available time I had to have my car inspected so I waited, and waited. I called, hoping that since no one was inside to pick up the phone that my call would either be forwarded to someone or Id be able to leave a message. Neither occurred. 3 other customers arrived over the course of next hour and sat outside as well. At 10:00 am, without knowing if anyone was even going to show up to work for the day, I decided to leave. The lack of customer service is astounding.

Got in and out within the promised 1 hour time frame for my oil change and tire rotation. Staff was very friendly.

Short version: DO NOT GO HERE. Would give 0 stars if I could. Our SUV broke down while on an out-of-state trip 6 hours from home and had it towed to this NTB for repair as it was the only shop still open on a Friday night. Customer service rep was rude, would not initially accommodate or allow us to get into our vehicle and get our personal items as they were closing at 6:00 p.m. The customer service rep hung up on my wife while trying to work out an arrangement to get to our personal belongings (we have 2 small kids and all of our bags were in the car). Eventually worked it out to get our items from our car after much back and forth. When I confronted the front desk rep about hanging up on us, he flat out lied to my face and denied it. Their repair quote was over $800 to fix the brake problem. Had vehicle towed to Caton Auto in Catonsville, MD who fixed the same issue for less than $200 and had far superior customer service. Spare yourself a headache, large bill and unnecessary stress and do not go here even if youre stranded and 6 hours away from home.

Scheduled and went in for a simple oil change & tire rotation. They failed to rotate the tires and it took an 1½! Plus the associate working got an attitude with me. Do not recommend this location.

Had my vehicle at their shop this past Thursday for a tire leak issue. I was made to think by the conclusion they found that the two front tires were not patchable and need to be trashed. So they continued to try to sell me 2 tires for almost 4 hundred dollars 💵, acting like it was a total emergency and the old ones couldnt be put back on . I declined also cause I thought it was too much for 2 and went for a 2nd opinion. *Keep in mind* NTB IS A DESCENT SIZE COMPANY. Today 7-18-2020 I went to a backyard mechanic shop in Pennsylvania and explained the situation. The mechanic removed the tires and did a test on both to look for the possible problem causing the leak. The guy then placed the tires back on and let the car down. He walked over and said,***HE FOUND A HOLE PROBABLY FROM A NAIL AND PLUGGED IT UP***DONT GO TO NTB, THEY ARE A RIP OFF AND APPARENTLY HAVE MANUER FOR BRAINS!

Very happy with this location. Paul the service manager is awesome always coming out to give a breakdown of work needed. They are honest if something is not yet needed. Short wait. Oil change in under an hour.

I would like to to thank the staff at NTB Tire, Ellicott City, Maryland. When I walked through the door I was greeted in the most friendly manner. I explained the issue I was experiencing, the set of tires on my car continued to leak air, very fast, and very frequently . I must say, I was feeling very uneasy, and disappointed prior to coming in to NTB Ellicott City. I traveled back and forth between several places who specialize in tire service, walking away with no answer, or advise on how to handle the issue at hand. The service staff had the MOST pleasant CAN and WILL DO approach to satisfying my needs. The service was excellent ! The staff immediately got to work, and remained positive. The servicing staff paid attention to all the details of my car. The quality of equipment, great communication skills, and the consistency of a sincere positive attitude made the experience better than I have ever experienced. We had an appointment. We showed up. The man behind the counter laughed at us and said that he cannot get us in.... even though we HAD an appointment. I asked why he never called and he said that they were super busy. This is my first EVER negative review. PLUS, the entire area in front of the bay doors is filled with discarded metal weights!!!!! I picked up 3 and still found one more one the way back to our vehicle. We called another NTB and they were more than happy to have our business.

If i could give zero I could!The service here is really bad. They don’t care about your time. We had an appointment at 12 noon and left the car. We passed by at 2:30pm and the car is still in the parking area. When we went to pick it up at almost 5pm they told us that they only have 2 tires and the other 2 will get here the next day. Seriously!! When we came in he told us it’s in stock and when we came to pick it up it’s not. I totally understand that there’s some matter that you cannot get a hold at but at least try to let the customers know what’s up? You have the phone numbers. Call! So we don’t have to waste our time and effort going back and forth onto something that is not even there. We could probably understand if you guys called us and let us know so we could pick up the car earlier than closing time because you don’t have all of it in the first place. And the person in the front is rude and is not sincerely sorry for the inconvenience. If you love your time go somewhere else! Do something about this. Communication is important!

The staff at the shop are great! I was 6 months pregnant when I called them about a flat and really needed my car back to normal asap. They fit me into their busy schedule and fixed it for me the same day. I had to wait quite a bit since they were busy but its well worth the wait to get the help you need from an honest mechanic. They didnt even try to sell me a new tire, they just fixed the flat one. I really appreciated their help and will definitely go back again in the future. Just bring your patience - they are often busy but its worth the wait if you really appreciate an honest mechanic like I do.

Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had an issue with my headlights, fully expecting that Id go in and have to wait forever (which is usually how it goes when I go to a mechanic), but the guy at the front helped me fix it immediately while explaining how to fix it myself in the future. Ive had many good experiences here. Basic service is very affordable. There were 2 times when I needed major repairs that cost a lot of money. I had other service providers give me a second opinion. They confirmed the issue and were going to charge me more money so I got the work done at Merchants.Then, there was a third time I needed a major repair, and took it to the dealership, where they fixed it for free in 1 minute.All-in-all, Ive saved a lot of money vs. taking the car to the dealership. Theyre not perfect, but find me a mechanic that is. Its always a good idea to get a second opinion when you need major work done, regardless of where you go. Also, waiting in the store can take a while, so I recommend dropping off your car.
