Ive studied various martial arts over the years, but never traditional karate. I found American Tiger after a web search, and gave it a shot. Im glad I did. I love the school and the curriculum. American Tiger Karate Academy is a great place for children and adults to learn a beautiful art of Karate. My son has been taking classes since he was 4 years old and he loves it. The instructors are very patient and friendly, always ready to teach and help.

I have been training here for roughly 16 years and teaching for 10 and this dojo has taught me so many values and skills that I will never forget. All instructors are well trained and knowledgeable and are more than willing to share with anyone who wishes to learn.

I like it very much. The treatment feels like family. All the instructors are very dedicated to making sure all the students learn to be strong in every aspect possible. I a appreciate how Sensei Pat dedicates shares her time and knowledge with the students.

ATKA was instrumental in my developing physically and mentally as a person. I trained in karate around 10 or so years and Sensei Pat and staff have great passion to helping you develop your skill set and improve class to class, whether learning self-defense or training for competition.Beginners, be patient with yourself; current karatekas, keep that patience. You are constantly in the growing phase. Be excited at where you are going in bettering yourself.

I think this place is terrific. The Sensei really seems to understand techniques as well as how to translate those to students so they can learn. My son was previously enrolled in a martial arts school in Addison and when he went to the tournament he was woefully unprepared. Within one month of attending here hes already more advanced than he was after a year and a 1/2 at the other place.

I love American Tiger Karate Academy.I put all my three kids there. I went few martial art Dojo before I found America Tiger Karate but this is the best place. Its because of Senei Pat who lead the Dojo. When I tried out another places, they all motivated with money. But when I checked American Tiger Karate Academy, it was very clear that Sensei Pat is really teaching the kids. Even all my kids grow up and one boy remain the Karate but all of my kids are highly recommended this place. Our family love this ATKA.

I have trained at American Tiger Karate Academy for a total of thirteen years. Without a doubt this Dojo is what shaped me into what I am today. I not only learned how to defend myself in any given situation, I also grew mentally, and physically. I matured over these years, I found myself making wiser decisions because I took my karate past the Dojo, I carried it with me everywhere I went (go). I got into the best shape of my life because of continuous training and dedication.Furthermore, I learned key aspects in life through my training such as: respect, dedication, awareness, confidence, humility, initiation and much more.This Dojo has done so much for me and everyone that has been apart of the school.

Discipline, Respect, Tradition, Work Ethic, ECT., All of these core attributes are instilled in the students at this dojo with a welcoming staff! I was one of the first adult students who started with American Tiger Karate Academy back in 1995. I learned confidence, self defense and a love for the traditional art of Shotokan. Sensei Pat Pusateri has so much knowledge and understanding of the art you cant help but feel the strong desire to do your best. My 17 yr old son who is high functioning autistic attends Senpai Amys class and she is wonderful with him. My other son who is 15 attends during the week and I wouldnt trust my boys being taught by any other school. You never feel berated but you are pushed hard and respect towards​ the instructors and to the other students & also to yourself is always a must do for everyone. Youre​ never handed a belt just because, you earn your rank. American Tiger Karate Academy will always be my only choice.
