This gym doesnt have a cardio room. The bathroom and showers are very poor quality. The weights and equipment are old and not so well maintained but will have to do I guess. Compared to other gyms its out of its lead.

I have called so many time in a matter of weeks and they still don’t answer the phone. Honestly, your best bet is avoiding this place. They are unprofessional and their communication is TERRIBLE. Like how hard is it to pick up a phone

Agree it’s pretty dirty. Also the crowd there is not a fan of re-racking their weights. So your always looking all over the gym for weights. Most treadmills are broken. Not the best gym, but the staff is friendly. That’s about it.

For service / gym condition I think 20 dollars a moth is too much , the guy who clean does his best to keep clean everything but is not enough . Holes and unfinished walls , sauna need deep clean and wood change

I signed my club metro membership at Newark nj i paid $37 a month that includes all metro gym well i decided to go to the Elizabeth location in Morris aveAnd didnt let me in because i didnt have access to that location, i called costumer services and they told i could go to any location since my membership already included they still didnt let me in , so i went to clubemtro.com Elizabeth nj and signed for one day FREE pass and they still didnt let me in because of the COVID-19 but yeah the lady said if u paid $10 dollars u could go in shame on them never again im going to call corporate and report themMind you it was a snow day .and it was probably like 6 peoples in the whole gym

I don’t know who is owner here but I think he didn’t check what is going on inside. the yoga mats are in the worst condition - dirty and broken. they really need to be changed. if you are too sensitive you can get a rash after a workout on them. 2 years ago here was PIYO classes and I really enjoyed them and the trainer. sad that now everywhere is a lot of Zumba only. some of training apparatus look horrible. I post a picture here one week ago of the leg curl equipment , and no it is repaired. Aliluia one good thing 😁 glass in one room stays broken 2-3 weeks already and they put scotch on it. it is not very clean. I can’t wait to finish this year and to change to another gym

I would give this place a 0 if it were an option. The fact that you have to go in person during a pandemic to cancel your membership is an atrocious business practice. I everyone to know to avoid this place at all cost. PS I guess it would interest people to know that this gym was open during the shut down taking $20 at the door to allow people in illegally and that their was little to no sanitization process.

Go somewhere else! Worse place. It’s been moved to a new management and they are scamming anyone who signs up. They won’t allow you to cancel unless a manager is there and the manager is only there from 6 or 7 maybe on weekdays.

No deposit, 20 bucks a month and convenient to get to isn’t such a bad deal. 80% of all equipment is in rough shape/ broken but you pay for what you get. BIGGEST ISSUE is it’s HOT. Gym temp is steady at 80~85 degrees all summer. Workers say they aren’t allowed to turn up the AC. If you want to work out in a Sauna then perfect gym for you. On the other hand if your someone who pushes their limits you might get a heat stroke.

I been going to this gym for four years and Ive never seen this gym in such a bad condition. Everyday it gets more expensive charging you for things that you dont use.the maintenance payment does not get properly use to keep the gym clean and up to date. I even canceled my membership last month and they still charged me an extra month because I had to let them know 30 days before my next payment. I dont recommend this gym to anyone.

Place is filthy, staff walking around aimlessly not doing much of anything or talking on their phones. Sauna thermostat is broken, you have no clue what your gaging heat at. Place is crowded everyday. Used to be 24 hours but stopped. I lost my excitement coming here. Parking is almost non existent, people make their own parking spots sometimes making it difficult for you to get out of your own parking spot.... place is a joke!

Probably one of the worst gyms I have ever been to.Cons: It is very dirty everywhere and you can tell that they do not maintain their outdated equipment. There is also an extreme shortage of weight plates which is a complete joke. You cant even use the machines half the time because there are no plates to put on! That is fine though Ill just do 800 reps for a set.Pros: It is only slightly better than your average Holiday Inn gym.

I occasionally visit for a workout and always have a pleasant experience.Easy parking, Staff always greets me and are very welcoming, All machines I use are functional, Bathrooms are clean, And are the women here beautiful or what???5 Stars to Club Metro of Elizabeth without a doubt.

Im pretty happy with the gym. Its location could not be better as well as the hours. If you need extra parking, there is a parking lot right next door that you can use after 7 p.m. The only thing that I dont like is the fact that the music can be very loud at times. Other than that, I would recommend it.

This gym sucks, the equipment is outdated, always packed, also it has been without AC for a month now and im guessing that wont change any time soon. I had to cancel my subscription since it was too hot to workout making my gains suffer. I had to go to LA fitness which is a way better gym. Glad im out of this hell hole

Its a good gym its not that big I go there only at nights because doing the day there is to much people for such a small space the staff are cool they do there jobs the only had thing about that gym is that they close early they Carlose at 12pm and Saturday and Sunday at 7pm when they first open a few years ago they claim they was 24 hours but they never was 24 hours they use to close at 1am I get out of work late so I have to rush my work out because they close so early when my 1 year is over Im going to go find a different gym to join that opens 24 hours or more then 19 hours.

It’s very, very small. Very tight place to workout, would be a lot better if they were to do some kind of expansion.

The sauna room feels like its never given a good cleaning. When things break it usually stays that way for weeks regardless if its a shower or equipment. Staff is cool now that they have replaced a few employees. I give it a 3 out of 5.

I got enrolled a some point in my life, staff was rude, i brought a friend to get a tour at the gym and was not aloud to get the tour.Anyways parking is extremely complicated if you ever get to find one, and the gym was most of the time full of ppl.Hope they keep improving by now.

I love the classes in this place, but there is not enough classes in the morning and even they cancelled the classes because of the summer. They need to have enough classes in the morning no matter the season.

I understand, machines break or need maintenance but there is not excuse for the lack of sanitation. This gym is so dirty its disgusting. And compared to other club metros this one is small and staffed well enough that the staff should be keeping up with it. Dont waste your money!

As of 6/16/13, Ive been a member for two weeks. So far this club has just about everything I need. I have yet to encounter an problems with staff or parking. Ive only taken the spin classes and the teacher Alexandra is wonderful. Shell answer any questions youll have and correct your form. Yea the parking could be better but they are working with the space they have.My only real complaint is the lack of nutrition facts on the shakes (I count caloric intake via my fitness pall) and that theyre not open 24 hours during the weekend.

The lady said I would be charged one more time, mind you, dont even go there anymore, fine whatever, as long as its cancelled. A month later I ama charged again ! Filing a complaint against them as they are trying to scam me when the membership is suppose to be cancelled! If i didnt keep track of my finances they would continue to charge me ! It looks nice at first... Then you realize its small, the staff could care less that you are there, there is no parking and the aerobics room is a joke. And you cant leave because of the contract. Looks are deceiving. Stick with anywhere but there.

There is no ac available in the summer. Customer service is horrible with managers and employees not wanting to work things out.They have fees for maintenance but the gym doesn’t look like they fix or clean anything. They have extra fees that you pay for every month besides the gym membership such as classes (which they don’t have no more and still charge you for) ,sauna even if you don’t use it you get charge for plus the sauna barely works. Also you have to give a 30 day notice if you want to cancel your membership if not you will be charge for another month plus the cancelation fee. This is a gym for people who don’t have other options. GYM MANAGEMENT ARE MONEY EATERS!

I have been in the Elizabeth location for a few time now. Its close to my house however normally in the Newark location to be close to my job and have a early workout.Today I come in the girl at the desk acted like she did not want to even be bothered. She was on her phone. She did even stand up to greet the guest. Whatever thats not what made me judge this place. So as I said I work out to in the morning than go to work. Lol I went to shower. There was 3 showers 2 did not have hot one and did not even look like it was clean. Out of all 3 showers there was only one with a shower curtain nor rods and a floor mate. Of course my luck it had to be the one that has no hot water. So what I did, i played maintains person and took the rod woth the shower curtain and moved it to the only shower that had hot water along with the mate. Lol no wonder I never saw ppl shower here. #never again

This gym is the worst. I called to cancel my membership they advised me that I had to come in the gym to cancel it. I told them i was out of state and could not do so physically. They then informed me that I would have to pay a month extra because im supposed to give 30 days notice. I told one of the office managers to go ahead and charge the card on file for that amount , now they are telling me that I owe $200 because I never cancelled the account. The worst gym ever. Dont go there. There are 2 Planet Fitness: 1 in Elizabeth and 1 in Linden. Plus the gym is small and dirty, and the machines always under maintenance.

Overall good gym, almost no gyms offer a sauna, 2 cardio rooms, 1 cycling room 4 heavybags and smoothie bar all in the same gym..also they have the best leveled floors outa all the gyms ive compared... wich for me is very important for good yoga and body structure..oh and the best pull up bars too lol i dont know why people bash this gym... maybe its just not for them, but this one fits all my needs ☺

Plan and simple place is dirty. The guy at the front desk is simply the worst, and because I dont speak spanish treats me pretty awful. Thats why the Union location is my first choice.

Bad place to work out. Dumbbells are never in place. Running machines never worrking , weight machines when the break ,it takes them a month and a half to get them fixed. Paper, water bottles always all over the floor. Saturdays open from 7am to 7pm...its a lie. They never come on time , always 10 ,15 and half an our late. Week days, girl at front desk is very rude. She wont even bother in saying good morning .Today is saturday 02/24/18 7:39am. Club still close. They tell you to go to front desk to discuss whatever issue you see, but when you go to front desk , there is never a manger , supervisor or owner. No one keep maintance , but they do withdraw from your bank account money maintance fee.Every day we spend 10 minutes cleaning and puting everything back in the racks, the should pay us instead of charging us montly, we do the cleaning. This place is a joke. No wonder they keep losing customer over near by gyms.

I really rather not deal with this gym honestly, they make minors sign contracts as if they know what their signing which is a crime, but its all about the money for them I see. They dont even have parking, nobody there speaks proper English, the sauna never works, staff is useless as well as the manager. Ive been calling to speak with the manager for months the staff always tells me shell call me back but she never does, the staff told me she comes in at 6pm, I called at 6:30PM I was told by the same staff that the manager isnt there yet that I should give her some time because she never comes in on time. I cancelled my membership, I dont have their time for games.

The structure and the machines are fairly good, and well mantained. Unfortunately the staff is unproffesional, they treat you with no education, It is a complete garbage. Also I would like to mention that their recurring payment is a complete scam. STAY AWAY [as the review before]

I just came back to the gym after been gone for my competitions and the gym is way worst now the ambience is bad they put bachata music or reaggeaton to work out like come on is a gym they suppose to put gym music hard core gym music the place is a mess there not any trainers in there Im not coming back to this gym I dont recoment this gym to any one at all.

They have updated some of their machines. I like that they are now 24hrs and the staff and mgmt team are very helpfull. Ppl need to realize reviews are just advice but sometimes you just have to take a look for yourself. As for it being crowded it can be at times, so try off hours again they.are open 24 hrs during the week and they have plenty of parking nearby if their lot is full Happy with my gym :)

I recently cancelled my account with this gym and it, took a total of 4 trips to get this accomplished. The stafff is by far the worst I have encountered, they have no knowledge of what customer service means, and their managers are just tools(useless tools) There are 3 supposedly but they somehow do not communicate with each other and whatever once says is overwritten by the next tool. I wish I had research this a little more before sigining up for a whole year. The company that collects their monthly payments somehow got a hold of my new credit card number without my permission and, the gyms response was I dont know how that happen, here call ABC Financial and figure it out. I paid a full year and only was able to attend the gym twice, their class schedules are inconvenient very inconvenient for people that work full time, making it hard to attend, and when I could finally make it to their class, well...there was no parking because their parking lot is extremely small, and parking in the street is very difficult since the gym is close to residences. I am writing this and, well I am still trying to figure out how and who provided my financial information without my consent.

I cant say a single good thing about this place. It used to be ok place. Now it is just trash

This gym was not as I expected. The promotions overlap each other. Their staff are so uneducated with no customer service skills and its manager...well it could use new management. Its staff members also lack their gym policy knowledge. Lastly, their equipment is never up to par and its always packed. I would not pay more then 10 a month. I really regret signing up with this gym. STAY AWAY.

I am extremely upset as an active member of club metro gym in Elizabeth, the SAUNA has been damaged for more than 1 week and apparently the managers of this gym do not have the slightest intention of fixing it, it is extremely important for us, take action.

Too dirty. The tanning room is never clean. There is no paper. The machines are damaged. They never have the support to put the fish. Very run down the place. Unfortunately the owner does not do anything to keep the gym clean and the machines in good condition. That is why many people have gone to other places.

I have been going to this gym for 3 years but lately I have been very disappointed, I have seen it very dirty and disorganized; Many times the womens restroom has no curtains, some of the shower knobs are loose, or sometimes have no tissue. I have been seeing a broken glass for more than 6 months in the abdominal section and also many machines are damaged as well as the mats. But the staff (the men) provide a good service and do their best to make you feel comfortable in whatever is in their hands.
