I found this repair shop on Google search-AFTER feeling annoyed and put off by a prior shop I had brought my car to before. (Literally, just next door.)Especially, getting to know a new city.Its hard.I drive a lot.So, professional comfort level is IMPORTANT to me regarding my vehicle. 100%.I checked the reviews before deciding to call.And, must say pretty accurate.Good customer service.Derrick was very pleasant & professional.And, felt just told me the truth about my vehicle.Drove away with peace of mind regarding transaction.Definitely recommend.

This shop is a hidden gem in Elizabeth. In a city (and area) surrounded by auto shops, D & D Car Care is the shop people should be going to. Derrick and his employees were so nice to me. In my experience, most auto mechanics I’ve seen were usually disrespectful, would take short cuts if they could, or will up-charge based on the type of vehicle you drive, not knowing you’ve done through price research.Called the shop the day prior for a quote. Derrick quoted me a reasonable price that was slightly less than what I was quoted by other shops in the city. I told him I’ll be there the next day, and that I did. Before they started, I had some conditions I wanted them to oblige to, and they did.I’m glad I went here. I brought in all the parts, so I was just paying for labor. Again, respect is a major factor for me. They showed me this tremendously, and that’s why I’m writing this rare review.

Derrick is a reliable, personable and honest mechanic. This was my first time in this shop and I felt like I been a client for years with the respect and information I was given. My Crv has an issue with starting and a broken resonator pipe which both were fixed. I highly recommend D & D !

My car was basically dead. I brought it to D&D Car Care and they actually brought it back on the road. Where other ,mechanics could not figure out what was wrong, the crew at D&D saved my car. The cost for their service was in the low hundreds where it could have cost me about $5,000! When I think of this shop three words come to mind: professionalism, courtesy and actually caring for the customer! I trust you 100% when it comes to my vehicle needs & will definitely be back, for tune ups, oil changes, & everything else I have no idea about!I moved to Elizabeth last year for work & drove my car across the US to do so. Recently I got a flat tire, but was able to refill with air & drive to Pep Boys. Got an oil change & had them “patch the tire” which ended up not working. For months I drove on a semi-flat tire having to put four quarters into a gas station air pump & refill every few days. I eventually bit the bullet & went back to Pep Boys to have my tire replaced. Long story short, my car is AWD & to replace one tire you have to replace all four. I got quoted $850 by the most schemey salesman I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. I decided to wait because the price & environment just didn’t feel right.A couple months later, my poor tire wouldn’t fill with air anymore… I felt hopeless. I don’t speak “car”, it’s just not my thing. Hand me an iPhone or Mac & I got you covered, I could talk on it all day. Googled a couple local spots & stumbled upon D & D Car Care because of the awesome reviews. Thank GOD. Called them up, spoke to Derrick, & drove my car, flat as hell, up to the shop. I told Derrick what the situation was, that I had tried to put on my donut & couldn’t get the bolts off. With no hesitation & about 5 minutes time Derrick had my tire swapped with the donut. We talked tires for a moment & he suggested a discounted tire shop a little ways away & his honest opinion on what he would do in my situation. I asked if he could do the job & he said yes but his tires might be a little more expensive but he’d do his best to match the price of the specialty tire shop he had suggested. I didn’t even want to bother entertaining other opportunities, I just wanted this almost year-long flat tire saga over with! Derrick got back with me the next day & quoted me a price HALF of what Pep Boys tried to sell me on. The rest is history, I said “Yes” & had my car back on the road, good as new, a couple days later!
