I Have an 80 year old friend living in El Reno that has arthritis and can’t drive….I live in Bethany (about 40 min drive) and inquired on the 3rd if someone could take her the medication (about a 5 minute drive to her house from the Walgreens) because they were going to be closed July 4th for the holiday. She NEEDED the medicine on Sunday. They seemed put out that I asked and I was told there were only 2 of them there that day…seems Walgreens would have other employees to take an elderly customer their much needed medication but I guess no luck lol whatever happened to customer service?

I am very unhappy having to write such a negative review. I am incredibly sad that someone in healthcare would discriminate against a patient simply because they dont understand the illness that person has. I am embarrassed I had to call them and try to CONVINCE him to do his job and fill a normal expected regular prescription. He, the pharmacist named MICHAEL GLEN CHAPMAN, still refused to do his job and care to a patient. People without morals or ethics like him should be immediately fired and banned from any healthcare whatsoever. My story is below. The reviews of others obviously show this more than just an isolated problem.I have been taking a prescription for hormone replacement therapy, a prescription I have been taking for many years without any issues. I regularly visit my Specialist MD AND my PCP MD doctor which handles my hormone replacement therapy and she monitors all of my blood levels, which are in fantastic shape. The prescription I submitted to the Walgreens Pharmacy was never filled. I received a couple of notifications through the Walgreens App that Your prescription is delayed. We are contacting your doctor for approval. So I waited. An entire WEEK. The status never changed. I received no communication whatsoever in relation to the script that was sent in.I visited my doctor about a week later and I told her to please approve the script I sent in to Walgreens. By this time, the lack of hormones from my missed dose was producing negative symptoms, such as fatigue, weakness, and borderline depression. My doctor said, No, I approved that a while back. She went and looked and said, Yes, it was approved and sent back on (two days after I sent it). So now I was really confused. I had assumed it was my doctor being super busy and not getting to her electronic requests for refills. It apparently was not.So as soon as I left the doctors office, I called Walgreens in El Reno. I reached the pharmacy and spoke with PHARMACIST MICHAEL CHAPMAN, who I began telling him who I was and about my testosterone. He interrupted me halfway through my question and said, Yea, I know which one youre talking about. Im not filling it. I was quite surprised and asked why not. He said, Because no one needs that big of a dose. At MOST, you might need 25% of that. If you take that big of a dose, you will give yourself a heart attack and die. I told him all of the above health info and that it may seem high because most people with low T are at 250 or 350 and only need a slight boost, whereas my levels were at THIRTY (30) when the condition was discovered, so I admittedly need a high dose to get me up to the high end of normal.MICHAEL didnt care. He said he wasnt filling it because no one needs that type of a dose. I told him that Pfizer (the company that makes the drug) states their recommended dosage levels are well within the dosage I take.He told me he had a right to refuse to fill any prescription he personally did not like.I told him he was wrong and the law only allows him to not fill a prescription - that law being Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) 535:15-3-13(b) and (c) - if he (A) doubts the origin (which he can easily verify by calling the MD doctor, or (B) hes worried the prescription is not for medical purposes, which (1) he has no proof of, (2) he can easily verify by calling my doctor, and (3) the information Ive just given him eliminates that worry entirely. He still refused. I filed a formal complaint with Walgreens Corporate, and with the Oklahoma State Pharmacy Board against his license. Hopefully, his random subjective filling of scripts will end with his career, or at the least he will be reminded he is merely a pharmacist and not an MD, and he is not part of the doctor-patient discussion and determination of treatment. He should know his role and not tread where he is not qualified to do so. His role is filling a bottle with pills in accordance with what the actual doctors say. He should stick to that because he hasnt even mastered that.

I have prescriptions ready to be picked up but had to go out of town for a family emergency. Every time I call to ask them to hold them until I return, Im told Ill be connected with someone but then get disconnected. I also tried responding to the text message, following the instructions on how to do so, but it says it doesnt understand my message. Very frustrating!

You need more staff. The woman who’s pregnant can’t work both registers! Then the lazy manager finally walked out the door and got a cart but wouldn’t help her with the line of people. How disgraceful

The head pharmacist is the best if he sees a drug interaction he tells you and always will contact the doctors. There hi 5 program is well followed if not know what that is its when no more than 5 steps in the door you are greeted. A plus keep up the good work.

I have heard from several people having similiar issues but the pharmacy staff is awful. There is a little hispanic girl that has worked there for years has awful customer service etiquette and very unfriendly. She has very arrogant personality and treats people like they are beneath her and she messes up my order and others it seems because she doesnt care or listen to people. They have had good pharmacist as far giving u advice and but it seems like they are busy doing there thing and arent intuned with there staff and dont do very good job managing them. Made a complaint very politely that the same mistakes keep happening over and over the pharmacist told me I need to go to another Pharmacy very rudely. But i have made a comment about the El Reno Walgreens Pharmacy not being very good to couple other Walgreens in the area and they said they hear that a lot. I hate using them but limited in this area.

The store manager, Kathy, is very rude to her customers. This location is a fedex drop off and pick up, yet the managers do not seem to want to help the customers with this service. I took in a package that fell within their stated guidelines and the manager lifted it up and stated she was checking the box because people can put whatever they want on the dimensions and weight. Basically, calling me a liar to my face. My husband and son have received the same type of rude service when dropping off packages also. Will be calling corporate after posting this.

The store inside is fine except the occasional rude employee but that’s everywhere you go. The pharmacy however is trash. They NEVER have your prescription ready when you need it, they are consistently rude about it, and they just stand around talking and ignoring people as if they have nothing better to be doing. My most recent encounter was over the phone today with Jermey. Last night I was told by a Walgreens employee that my doctor had not sent in a prescription for me. I called my doctor who said they had in fact sent my prescription and Walgreens picked it up. I call Walgreens and the automatic line said I had no prescriptions on file. So I speak to a pharmacist, Jermey. I try telling him what’s going on so he knows in advance and he cuts me off with “what’s your date of birth” and I was like “okay wow I’m not even allowed to finish my sentence?” And he cuts me off again with “yeah, no let’s just get this going” so I just hung up. They are always so awful. I’ve never gone to another Walgreens that was actual trash, but I am for sure done with them now. Just do yourself a favor and go to Walmart or the new pharmacy off Elm. Maybe you can at least be treated with kindness somewhere else.

Earlier this year I had my Dr increase my 30 day prescription from 2 to 3 a night. Instead the pharmacist gave me a 2 a day, 45 day supply, I tried to talk to him but hes not very smart and wanted to argue with me that I was wrong. I switched to Walmart, 5 stars for Walmart

Visited this Walgreens a few times while staying in El Reno and happy with the service and the store is well kept. Each time I went I was greeted as I entered the door. On my first visit I arrived just 5 minutes before they closed and the staff help me find what I was looking for quickly, but didn’t rush me out of the store. I read some of the other comments about the pharmacy, I didn’t use them so I can’t comment on how well they work, but for grabbing general things more quickly than going across the street to Walmart I would recommend them. Also I’ll mention I did go to Walmart first and then remembered something small so went to Walgreens after and while at Walgreens I saw the same case of water which I bought at Walmart a dollar cheaper at Walgreens which surprised me since I figured things would be cheaper at Walmart.

Tried to filled a prescription for my daughter that was called in by the doctor. The pharmacist told us that it was back ordered and wouldn’t be available til a later date...ok so we contact the pharmacy on the date and they said they had no prescriptions in the system to be filled for my daughter 🤦🏼‍♀️ That I will have to call my dr to have them resubmit the prescription. Ok fine...called the dr the next day...dr calls and talks to the pharmacist who tells her that they indeed have the prescription already they just can’t fill it 🤨 so basically the pharmacist lied to my face the day before or lied to my dr the next day. Either way these people shouldn’t be trusted with medications. To be honest if there were a way to give -1 star I would because there was absolutely no reason to tell the truth in this situation. Very disappointed in these people who are supposedly “professionals” and in charge of people medications.
