This is easily my favorite grocer for ingredients to cook Japanese food! I go here every other day, its so convenient and easy to shop at and they always have everything I need! Being able to read Japanese will help a lot.Great for cheap and high quality sushi during lunch. They get it from Musashi in Berkeley, I think!

They have a great inventory where you will be able to get most Asian market items, particularly sushi grade fish. The only thing I wish they had was a small bakery. Sometimes I prefer to brave the crowded Ranch 99 because of this reason.

When Im too lazy to go to Tokyo Fish Market, I go to Yaoyo-San because its closer to me. They dont have quite the selection as Tokyo Fish and their prices are a bit higher. A 12-pak of Sapporo beer is $10 at Tokyo Fish; at Yaoya its $13. Yamamoto Tea is $2.19 at Tokyo fish, $2.39 at Yaoya. Perhaps because of the higher prices and smaller selection, its less crowded to shop at Yaoya which makes for a faster shopping experience.

Local Japanese market with quite a bit of selection, fresh prepared sushi and other dishes. Used to be smaller it they expanded to the next door property giving them a bigger space to offer more variety of items. There sushi selection is nice and hood for takeout. They also have onigiri by checkout but you have to go early to get it because they sell out super fast!. They also have fresh pastries now and again, you have to go early to get it before it runs out.

Prices on most of grocery items sold here are approximately 10% cheaper than Nijiya (S.F.) and most of the other. Asian grocers in Marin and Sonoma Counties.Added; 09/19/19, brought home and noticed half of the items bought were expiration dates were expired and/or not fresh. No wonder there groceries are cheaper than others.Would not recommend this grocer.
