Although they didnt have my sons skates (mens size 13) in stock, this place had so much other sporting gear to offer and we did leave with two incredible knives for less than $40!!! Highly recommend!!!

Guy in ammo helped multiple other people, never once offered to help me. A guy who looked like a manager walked by and gave him a specific nod in my direction letting him know I needed some help with a couple items. Still no offer for assistance as I was there to purchase an AK 1 air rifle and some Oakleys. Ended up waiting about 5 minutes while he helped everyone else, just didn’t have time to wait longer. No glasses, no gun. Saved me over $400. Thanks I guess. Went to Timoney’s Firearm and Accessories and was able to make my purchase instead.

The screen canopy I needed was easy to find. The girl at the register was happy to apply the coupon I presented. The staff was courteous and I am ready to.go camping. This store is always a great place to get what I need.

This is one of my Big 5 Sporting Goods Stores I can always count on to buy my black Nike Air Monarchs for work. The sales help always say its their last one in stock...every time I need to buy a pair. I can remember when they were $49.99...Now...$59.99 plus tax.

They had the glove my granddaughter wanted, after looking at several stores, to bad we didnt start their.

Only complaint: too small. The staff is knowledgeable about products. Theyre very friendly and professional. I was able to get in and get out with the products I looked for. No fuss...just smile.

Clerks were very helpful. Two of three camera offering assistance while I was shopping for a new 20° to 30° sleeping bag. They also have large selection of them. Also picked up some space blankets. Will be returning often.

Cant find employees who can help you out, I literally had to wait in line to ask cashier to please call someone who can help...

I rode my bike, a expensive bike. They have no way to lock the bike up. I asked one customer service person coming out of I could park my bike inside. She said yes but they cant be responsible. I just wanted to get a mirror for my bike but didnt want to leave it outside. Thought inside would be okay to just grab mirror and pay. Thought that would be quick. Girl at cash register said I could leave it there. That I had to leave it outside. I said you dont have any place to lock it up. She said I know but you have to leave it outside, you cant park it in here. So I left and will order online. I re expect their policy but a sports store could invest in a bike rack so a bike rider could buy what they need.

Great prices on running shoes. I can usually get a quality pair for $50-$60. Theres a tall guy with glasses who works in this department and is totally useless. Ive interacted with him a few times. Poor people skills!

Went to big 5 to get something I needed that Walmart and target were out of and jcpenny showed as in stock but were out of. Big 5 had them (thermals - needed them for cold nights.

Chelsea in shoes was amazing. Very crowded and very busy. Lots of people asking for different sizes and different shoes. Chelsea handled it like a pro got me the size that I needed in my new under armor boots they are super comfortable and look awesome. I got the khaki color Valsetz under armor hiking boots/running shoes. They seem like they breathe very well and they are super comfortable. I look forward to taking my dog hiking into dog park with these thank you Chelsea and the big five team you guys are awesome and always friendly.A suggestion I would give is to match Amazons prices other than that there’s always good sales here

Didnt price match and closed the gun section 3hours early so they could clean the shoe section. I guess when you dont work on commission you dont care but I did buy the two guns I was looking at elsewhere.

A decent selection of products and very friendly/helpful employees. Certainly better than a nearby sporting goods store that shall remain nameless. My only real criticism is that the store seems over stuffed with merchandise and some of the aisles are uncomfortable to navigate if there is more than one person there. Its a small place and they are trying to maximize their selection of products - but it makes the place seem cramped. Would still go here first for sports/camping/outdoor products.

When you want stuff to eat you go to a food store, but when you want to have fun and be athletic and head out to the out doors. You must stop at Big 5 they got stuff from all five categories. Fishing, hiking, athletic, outdoor family fun, hunting and so much more..

Just grabbed softball gear for our family. When we went up to the counter I asked if they had any coupons the directed me to their website. Ended up get 25% off

Good friendly helpful employees

We went to Big 5 for shoes. There was not to many people in the store. I only saw 1 guy without a face covering. Staff had face coverings. They also had tape on the floor for social distancing for when you checkout. Checkout was fast and out the door we went.

We went in looking for hiking boots for my teenage son. There was a great selection. We found a pair that fit after only 4 tries. The sales lady was super helpful and brought us shoes that werent even on display for my son to try. She checked on us several times even though she was helping other people at the same time.

Thr lines were short for check out and they had staff everywhere to help with any questions or product requests.

I stopped off at big5 sporting goods to check out some work shoes. Havent been there in a while so it was cool to come for a visit. They didnt have the type of shoe I was looking for but Ill check back later. Ran into fred at the gun counter- been there forever! Great place to kill a few minutes an look around. Enjoy!!

I have been a customer since they opened in El Cajon. Always fair and competitive prices. Depending on what you are looking for, they may not have the best selection. But they are very diverse in covering most sports and/or activities.

Terrific store for everything and anything in the line of sports equipment and wear. I always find what I want here. They also have a great variety of shoes as well.

Shopping during the pandemic, Big 5 closes early so check the store hours if you prefer shopping in the evening.I stopped buy to look for shoes for my husband.The store is still pretty cluttered, there were only a few shoppers but Id imagine social distancing would be hard if they are busy.The shoe department is confusing. Their shoe wall is ok. But the shoe aisles are strange. It looks like most of their stock is on clearance. But their clearance prices are not that good. Most clearance shoes were over $39.99. Some were $24. Most were higher. Also, the clearance shoes are just piled on top of each other, without boxes, on the shelves. They are organized by size and were neatly piled. But they were piled. . Their displays of current shoes were sparse and started at $20 for cheap quality and go way up from there.

Lots of good sporting goods with reasonable prices in one place.
