I ordered a meat skillet and my sister ordered chicken & waffles. When my sister cut her chicken strip all the crust fell off. She ate a small piece of the waffle and did not like it, she told the server she didn’t like it and can she take it back. The server apologized but she was still charged for the meal. She asked why she was being charged full price since she didn’t eat it nor like what she had. The owner came to the front explaining how she never had a complaint before. She ended up discounting her bill. Wow! Mean while my meat skillet consisted of bacon,hashbrowns,sausage, ham, cheese & egg. It was dry and I did not like my food either,I ordered a side of gravy which I was charged 2.99 for was really thick thinking it would make it better. I paid for my food but I wouldn’t recommend or return to this place.
Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. Absolutely delicious comfort food. Always good. This is a hometown favorite you wont want to be sleeping on.
First...I am a huge advocate of supporting local small business but...wow.What happened to this place.Ordered breakfast from here...and again was like some hospital food.Soggy toast...canned mushrooms and bland French toast. When I say bad...I mean real bad...not just complaining but $35 and gave most of it to the dogs.Cmon North Main...get back to where you were. I wont be coming back anytime soon

Clean, these servers always wipe down everything, salt, pepper shakers, condiments a plus with covid. Friendly servers, the cook knows how to perfectly cook eggs, and other food. I like the food, atmosphere and pricing, I highly recommend.

1st time coming here was about 3 months ago. Weve been here for dine in and take out probably 8-10 times. The food and service has been the absolute best. Breakfast 5 star, lunch 5 star. North Main is highly recommended from our family.

Pretty good diner. My husband and I tried this out one morning after a storm had rolled through and we had been without power for almost 24 hours. The waitress was very friendly and the food was pretty good.
I got the French toast platter. It was delicious. My husband got the gyro skillet, it was just okay. The service was friendly and prices were good. We will definitely be back!

Good eats with good people at a good ole fashioned small but roomy restaurant. Food tasted great! Had a Beef Eater Texas Toast sandwich and my lady had the Chicken wrap with fries. Came to place after the lunch rush and had no wait all on a Saturday. We will be back to try something on their delicious breakfast menu one day.
This used to be Fionas and it hasnt changed much. The service is friendly and the food is good.That being said the tables are always dirty, the glasses sometimes have stuff in them, the forks werent washed very well. The last time I went the sauces were empty on the table, but Ive been in the past where other tables would ask for our sauce because theirs was empty. The vibe you get is churn and burn because it feels like the second you stand up another person takes your spot, whether you left a mess or not. So its a great late night spot or casual hang place for friends, but I wouldnt plan a date here.The food really is good though. Nothing special, just good home-style food.

The waitress was great, very sweet girl. Not much of a wait for my order after I placed it. The food was not bad maybe it was just what I ordered. The gravy was not really good at all and the biscuits I didnt care for much either. I would give it another chance to get 5 stars. I like the environment very relaxed place.

Staff was very nice and welcoming. First time here and the french toast was melt in your mouth delicious! Eggs perfectly cooked along with the bacon. Right across from the courthouse. Very recommendable!

Thia is a great local diner that is tucked into downtown Edwardsville. The Breakfast Shoe was outstanding and the staff was friendly. This is the place you go for good comfort breakfast. Chain places cant compete with local goodness. Looking forward to another visit soon and bringing my in laws.

Love the French toast. Come here maybe 5-6 times a year. “Mom and pop atmosphere” could use upgrades but Always a nice place to bring the LO in the mornings or a late brunch

Very good food and service.. places a bit cramped as far as eating goes but very clean bathrooms were clean. Loved all the artwork on the walls and very beautiful pictures or hanging up for sale.. look forward to eating there again when visiting our daughter

Formally known as Fionas, all the advertisements and servers shirts still say Fionas. Nice, little hometown diner. Very busy with a wait nearly the whole time I was there. Food was moderately priced, and delicious. Waitress had a tough time keeping up with all your tables.

What a great little gem right in downtown Edwardsville. We stopped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The service was fast and friendly, the food was well cooked and tasty and the portions were huge! We will definitely be back.

The place was full. Sat in less than five minutes. Ordered. Food on the table in less than five minutes. I am seriously impressed with the service.I had the Greek omelette. Pretty happy with it.The only negative is that it is small, crowded, and hideous inside, but overall that didnt really detract from the positive experience. I would recommend.

If you are looking for the equivalent to a NJ diner (open 24 hrs, 1 million menu items), this isnt it. But, if youre looking for the same quality, this is your place. Fast service and fresh ingredients make this restaurant one of my favorites in Edwardsville. Worth a stop for any other east coast transplants.
Always busy but they get the food out fast anyway. A good take on standard diner food. Never had an unfriendly server.

Excellent food. I love coming here for breakfast because it is always delicious and ridiculously fast. Ive never waited more than 10 minutes for my order. The Greek omelette is incredibly good and they have the best coffee.

$11.20 total for a very mediocre (dry, too little cheese, mushrooms etc I paid for) in an omelette. The hash browns are cooked well. That’s ALL I can say. Blah coffee too. Won’t be back. Meant to find St Peppers!!! Won’t make that mistake again!

It was clean. I paid 8.00 for a gourmet burger , that turned out to be just a tasteless fried hamburger patty on a gourmet bun. There was absolutely no seasoning on it. Then the only condiment you get with it was ketchup. Will never go back that was the grossest food I can remember getting.

This is an old fashioned (70s) style diner with a lot of comfort food offerings. I have only been here for breakfast. The food is good, the coffee is ok, and the service is usually pretty good. Nothing amazing, but it is a nice change for your breakfast routine.

I take a long commute from Alton to SIUE. The bus costs $3 each way for a 2-hour Regional pass, which happens to stop at Edwardsville station. It just so happened to work out that if I leave early enough I can go to this diner for breakfast for half an hour or so and then catch the next bus to class using the same regional pass, and the food is definitely better than what is served at SIUE at around the same cost.I was able to have omelets one morning, and another I had a burger. The food was great and the atmosphere was quiet and its only half a block from the bus station.
