I lived in Indonesia (Rengasdengklok) for two years, and this place brings me back. They’ve got tempeh, sambal, Indo Mie, es teh, and the other usual suspects you’d find in a little Indonesian grocery, and they also cook hot food! We got Nasi Padang that felt like I could have gotten it at a warung in the desa. The chicken was tender and well-marinated, the veggies were fresh and spicy, and the rendang utilized a higher quality beef than what I had in Indonesia & Australia. But if you skimp on rice with a meal in Indonesia, that means you didn’t eat. The rice here absorbed the coconut flavors of the rendang along with the savory and spicy flavors of the other ingredients. Enak banget loh! Be aware though that the kind lady who cooks didn’t seem to speak much English, but I remembered enough Bahasa for commerce.

This place is absolutely delicious and nice. The lady’s who work here are kind and the food is amazing made me miss my Indonesian side of the family because it tasted like they were cooking for me! I had their Nasi Padang and their Ayam Penyet which i will come back for more next time I am in Seattle. They also have their market with many goodies that I love

Very friendly and delicious food. They carry some groceries as well. It’s the only place to date I have seen carry Tolakangin in the US.I bought a number of things for takeout including Ayam Penyet, Nasi Padang, Rendang, and Bacang Ayam.As of now I have only tried the Ayam Penyet and it was fantastic! I bought the other things cold for later heating and will try to remember to update this review after eating them.

Caveat: I have *no idea* what Indonesian food is supposed to taste like, so take this white guys review for what its worth.I wanted to try Nasi Kuning, but they were out so got Nasi Padang instead. It was served wrapped in (I think) a coconut leave. Unwrapped meal in attached image. The chicken was the best part it was flavorful and fall-off-the-bone tender. The beef was also good. But the egg was very overcooked to the point of being rubbery with plenty of green around the yolk.My other complaint was that its very rice-heavy. If there was a bit more of that amazing chicken leg and a bit less rice, Id rate it higher.Since it was a restaurant / grocery store hybrid, I also picked up the mango gel cups in the picture and had one for dessert. It was very good.Overall, Im intrigued enough to probably return and try something else.

Little convenient store in a strip mall that also serves food with a few tables. Order at the counter and theyll bring the food out to you. The nasi was awesome. The meat was tender and juicy, the veggies were flavorful, the rice was soaked with all the flavors of its friends, and every goodness was wrapped in the leaf. The fried chicken was good too. Crispy on the outside, and deep flavor seasonings. They have some specialty drinks; ask for recommendations. We got a jasmine tea that was excellent. The folks are some of the nicest and friendliest people.

As Indonesian, this is my kind of happiness. So happy to find a lot of Indonesian products that are pretty hard to get on regular super market or even Asian groceries store. You can also have some Indonesian meals in here. My tips: order something that is not on their fridge/display. See on their menu and let them prepare something fresh and warm for you.

This is a destination for my wife and I as this is one of the few places in the Seattle area where you can find Indonesian products. We have not had much luck with the pre-made food to-go (the homemade snacks available for sale) - however their hot food made to order is pretty good. They cook in a traditional Javanese style - and have Halal products available. You can even purchase blocks of tempe and papaya leaves that they have stored in the freezer. Nice, family run business - very pleasant people.

Was expecting good homey food, its a dream, lol. Ordered nasi padang (terlalu hambar dgn sambal yg terlalu irit, harga $10.99 gak sebanding dgn keiritan rendang+sambalnya, imo), sate ayam, omg its so dry and tough, like its just reheating too long, its a bummer. And when i told the owner abt the satay, she just said ooooo. Its underrated if anyone says this place is the closest aunthentic indo food. Imo they need to improve quality with the price. We spent $60 in this place and its not even good compare the chinese food we ate lastnight which we spent $70 for a really good food. Cmon indonesian food owner compete with quality with others asian food!
