Very clean top soil, such a reasonable delivery price within the city that I got the better dirt! Driver was excellent at drop off, very respectful of property and brave enough to travel my tight gravel driveway in a big truck. He even shoveled out the bits that wouldnt dump, ensuring I received my full purchase. Im very excited about the fantastic quality of this top soil, and grateful to an excellent driver! Arrived BEFORE NOON the NEXT DAY! What an awesome local business here in Lansing!

I have used Hammond farms as well as others for the past couple years. Hammond has always provided exceptional product quality side by side. This time getting some fill sand for my daughters playset they went above and beyond for me. Not only is it great quality fill but the driver was extremely skilled and was able to maneuver my side yard through obstacles etc. and lay the fill at site of use effectively reducing my project time by at least a day or two. I am super thankful and will be using Hammond for all my future needs. Thanks!!

I bought a beautiful bird bath, made of granite two Autumns ago. It has weather two winters very well. I love it for the simplicity of design, its weight (my dog doesnt knock it over) and the outside polished flat edge that the birds enjoy perching on. Worth the investment. FYI: It is shallow, so if your dog drinks out of it be prepared to refresh the water almost daily.

Always helpful in helping find garden products. Selection of stone products is pretty good but not phenomenal although Iver generally lucked out. Their selection of paving stone, gravel, etc is really good. Delivery fees and policies are pretty steep.

Their service is great. Ordered 4 cubic yards of rock and had it delivered exactly on-time and for a fraction of the price of Menards or Home Depot. Will definitely return for future projects.

I dont know WHAT has happened to Hammond Farms in the last year, but their friendly, customer oriented, business has gone down the toilet! A snippy, arrogant and condescending young woman working in DeWitt was less than cordial and could use a refresher course in business 101 and good customer service. Good thing she doesnt work for me - Id FIRE her. Was told I had to pay for two half yards of product if I needed to make two trips with the truck to pick it up (NEVER in the past have they done this). We were told if we wanted to pay for a yard and make two trips then we would have to bring shovels back with us to load it into our own truck because theyd load once then pile the rest on the ground. Next I asked about a 1/4 yard of stone because a 1/2 was more than the project needed. I was welcome to get a 1/4 of a yard, but I had to pay for 1/2. No ifs and or buts. Clearly turning a profit means more to these people than providong good customer service. With attitudes like that theyll run themselves out of business. Ive spent thousands and thousands with Hammond but Ill be utilizing out of town businesses now. Good luck with business with people like that working for you.

What a shame. We live near Hammond Farms and drive by the beautiful landscaping products regularly so I thought I would stop in. They had a steady stream of customers but I was the only woman in the shop, this didnt bother me until I noticed none of the staff (also all male) made no eye contact with me even when I had waited my turn in line and was asking for help.Except the man did look up to give me a skeptical glance when I asked for pricing on stones I had just seen in his lot. He pointed to reference books in the corner and suggested I drive across town to another location if I needed additional help, then said, next.I went to look at the books and they had pictures but no pricing. I heard the employee apologize to the next customer in line, who he knew by his first name, for helping me. I looked up to see a different employee patiently helping a male customer peruse mulch selections in a reference book.I left frustrated. I would pay extra just to go somewhere else. But since I never was helped with pricing, I guess I wont have to. No customer should have been treated like that, but to clarify the degree of rudeness--Im quite pregnant. Standing in line for a half hour doesnt come easily to me right now so I should have noted the lack of welcome sooner.What a shame. We are completely remodeling our 10 acer estate and I thought of their business as being my neighbor.
