The Little Theater was superb for its independent films & live music from their cafe. When the theater was in use, it was a small but spacious area with all the normal things a movie theater might have inside. The cafe was something that brought people together, especially on a cold winters night. Warm food + nice environment, sign me up! Truly a local must-see, I am sad to hear they are still temporarily closed. I at least still love taking pictures of their neon sign outside.

The Little Theatre is a place for people who truly love films that make you think, inspire you, challenge your worldviews, and move you to tears. Its a place for people who want to watch movies theyre not likely to get anywhere else while also getting the opportunity for a post-film discussion, live music, great food, the best popcorn in town, local art, and people who take their movie-watching seriously. Ive never had a problem with people being on their mobile phones during a film and the atmosphere, thanks to staff and other guests, is always so inviting. I love this place and if you havent been before, when it reopens, you MUST visit.

Unlike any other theater in Rochester, The Little Theatre is any independent cinema lovers go-to in the area. They offer delicious, gourmet foods and drink in the Little Cafe, as well as beer and often times live music. The theatres themselves are smaller and offer a more intimate film-going experience for the viewers. Every showing is unique, and worth the discounted ticket price.

Went to this venue as a part of the Rochester Fringe Fest. Arriving, the entrance was somewhat difficult to find. The street-facing building is closed for renovations, and you actually enter around back. Aside from that though, it was a nice place. The theatres are well maintained, and it has an adjoining Cafe which sometimes has its own performances. Overall a good trip.

Great old fashion theatre, in the middle of the city. Multiple smaller theatres that show new realeases at a fraction of the cost of the larger franchises. Movies on Mondays are $5, they have food and drinks available and there was also live music while we were there. The popcorn is awesome and all the snacks are also inexpensive! Theres lots of free parking around the location, especially after 6. Give this local business a try, they are making improvements to this historic Gem and doing a great job at it!

The thing I love most about this theater is the sense of history and community. Every time I go, I not only get to enjoy a movie, but I get to feel a part of something. The prices are good, the staff seem to enjoy being there. It feels like such a treat to go, especially when the majority of the movies I see are at huge chains like AMC and Regal that ate nice, but dont give you that same sense of belonging as The Little does.

Wonderful theater to hold an event, go for a coffee, or see a film. There is accessible parking in the lot and an accessible entrance. There is a steep ramp to go down into the theaters, so if you use a manual wheelchair be aware. Very nice retro theater. A little confusing as to where the entrance actually is.Parked in front on East Avenue where the Marquis is, when we got inside we were told to go all the way around the building to the entrance in the back. It was very rainy and very cold that evening and not very pleasant to walk in those conditions. The directions we were giving was a very long way around to the entrance.Shortest way is to take the very first street to your left. After a short walk you will find the entrance on your right side.I dont know why this was not told to us so we could take the shortest route. There is actually a free parking lot there which we were not told of either.

I will give the Little five stars just because coming here is a classic and cozy feeling that you cant beat. I wont compare it to the big wigs like Regal and AMC because the reason I come here is when I want to escape the typical cinema experience that big companies have created. The Little is local, runs independent movies and has enthusiastic staff which feels like a local family. The concessions and movies are cheaper. The pop corn is excellent! The seats are not as comfortable as I would like but the positives outweigh any negatives. They play special shows of classic older movies at times which I have been hoping to go to but havent been able to yet.Parking can be tricky on busy weekends but I havent had major problems. Will continue to enjoy and support The Little.

We very much enjoy the choice of movies and the cafe food is good. However, every time there is cooking going on in the cafe, the ventilation is so poor that smoky, burning air not only permeates the seating area of the cafe but also the adjoining theater(s) and makes for a very unpleasant experience. We usually leave there with smoky smelling hair and clothes. If a movie we like is showing at another venue we invariably choose that venue over The Little. We had considered being members, but do not attend enough because of the inadequate ventilation.
