TLDR: body-shaming at my wedding dress fitting 9 days before my wedding day - no thank you!I had my wedding dress altered at Bano. At first, everything was ok and they did a fine job making the dress shorter/fitting it to my body. However, they forgot about one of my appointments about a month out from the wedding - not a big deal since I still had time. However, my last week before I traveled to Pittsburgh for my wedding, I had my final fitting. They forgot about the appointment again (just days before I was supposed to leave). I was very frustrated, but returned the next day to the rescheduled appointment. At that appointment, I noted that the dress was a bit tight in the waist and I wanted to be able to move and dance comfortably. It needed let out slightly. Instead of correcting the issue, the seamstress took to body-shaming me, saying I gained weight, blaming me for the issue and her assistant instructed me to just workout the week before the wedding. After telling them that it is not their job to comment on my body - just to focus on altering the dress - it was slightly let out within 1.5 hours and fit perfectly. Be prepared to put up with verbal abuse, fight for what you need, and tell them to stay in their lane if you come here, but in my opinion, it is not worth the stress.

I wasn’t going to do this but it’s important normally I go in here to window shop and normally the ladies are nice I even brought an outfit when I first visited here for a photoshoot, however today it was just one lady here and no one came to the door when I rang the bell the other person waiting had to call finally someone came out and I got a very rude “can I help you?” I told her that I was just there to see what came in that was new and while she held the door for the other lady she watched me real hard while I was looking around finally when the other lady came in she raised her voice and said “you came in here four times and never brought anything!” I had to take out a photo of the outfit I brought from here for the photoshoot and she was quiet after that first of all I come here after my doctors appointments across the street once a month so I don’t come there but once a month which she acted like I came there all the time that was so uncalled for and I won’t be back anymore after today.

Excellent job at alterations , I am very picky and the owner made sure my suits were all done perfectly. Highest quality and people really know what they are doing with alterations.

Great place to go if you want to pay extra with a little verbal abuse while you shop!I have tried several times to visit this store thinking that maybe the owner was just in a bad mood, or maybe I should feel sorry for her and help her out by purchasing something. She was worse than ever on this last (ever!). If you are a designer that does not mean you treat people certain ways, I could hardly get out the door fast enough.

I was in total shock about how absolutely unfriendly and almost mean spirited the owner acted towards my daughter and me. I went in their to shop, was not even greeted and felt scowled at. As someone who writes about 99.9% positive reviews on both Trip Advisor and Yelp, I hope you take my advice and avoid having to deal with such negative energy - especially during these challenging times. And the prices were ridiculously expensive.

The owner is EXCEPTIONALLY rude. I live in Durham and she is obviously just here to make a dollar unlike EVERYONE ELSE. She was rude, offensive, and didnt care that the shirt that she was displaying was falling apart. I looked at the brand and went online to buy it HALF THE PRICE!!! I normally dont mind spending extra to support local - but I will be spreading my experience around Durham in hopes she goes back to where she came from.

This is a wonderful little botique with a sophisticated selection of great looking and fitting everyday as well as more elegant unique women s clothing. I always find something here, the owner is helpful but not overbearing. Every time I am here visiting my family I drop by. Wish I had a shop like this in no California

I love this boutique basically because the styles are unique and the clothes come from all over the world. They also do alterations and I had a custom veil done for my wedding.
