Ive been going to this store since I was a kid for music and books. I like that I can find music that isnt carried in a chain store like Best Buy. I love that Im supporting local business as well. The store is more than just music although the variety is great. They carry a lot of vinyl and box sets and always willing to order what you cant find. The staff is knowledgeable...always have a different genre of music playing overhead. They also stock stickers, patches, posters, incense, and books. You can always find a little something different compared to a chain store. Most important, when you shop at Moondog Music youre supporting locally owned business... Check it out!

This place is probably the best and cheapest place to get vaping products and the like. The records are a little pricey, but not unreasonable for a brick and mortar store. The only cons are that they close early now, so I’ve only been able to stop in once in the past year. Also, most of the staff is great, except just one employee with small round glasses and a little pony tail (IIRC), they are kind of rude, condescending, and just overall unpleasant to work with- but everyone else is usually great and friendly. Wish they’d stay open later- even if it was one day a week

We found our sage bundles with no problem and when we were looking for the crystals the nice man behind the counter was helpful and advised us to its location. Highly recommend this place as being safe and wearing masks etc... Nice big panes of plexi glass all over the place. Covid safe.

Horrible customer service. A lady was helping me and was extremely rude and disrespectful. I needed help and she made it seem as though it was inconvenient to her. After that she threw my product I was buying at me. Never going back.

I bought something here that didnt work I called them to explain the situation and was told thats not his fault next time I should go somewhere else he was talking over me I couldnt get one word in no apologies for wasting my money he told me to call the manufacturer. I feel thats something he needs to do since hes selling faulty products. He did offer to exchange it but hung up too fast when I tried to explain I live 26 miles away so since you are so strung out for cash keep the money nothing good comes to people like you

Ive spent thousands of dollars here over my life. At one time, I came here every Friday and grabbed a CD or two. Every month, I eagerly awaited Punk Planet or Maximum Rock N Roll hitting the magazine shelves.While I dont live in Dubuque anymore, when I come visit, I make sure to stop here. Mike, the owner, can still be spotted. Most of the CDs have been replaced with vinyl at this point, which is great. You can spend a few hours digging through what they have.They also have a large supply of pipes and bongs if that is your thing. Also, tons of posters, shirts, hats and a modest selection of books.

Chris Coffman was not helpful at all, and repeatedly tried to promote his comedian business. 10/10 would not recommend. Extremely disappointed with moon dog music.

TLDR: Lazy employees make you clean up after other customers; sells scratches records.NEVER will i shop here again after how poorly I was treated!!!! Went here to pick up a new record and suppore local buisnesses. I was there for mabye 15 miunets finding the SPECIFIC propper one(Rammstein the White album). When i brought the albem up the the cash register to pay, the young male working there WOULD NOT LET ME LEAVE WITHOUT RESORTING EVERY RECORD IN THAT EVTIRE SECTION!!!! I wasnt even the one who messed them up to begin with, and that kid makes me do his job! I do it just to het the heck out od there and go home. When i get home to play the record i payed ever $40 for, 2 of the tracks are so scratched i cant even listen to them.

I bought a pack of juul pods, after opening in parking lot discovered mold on them. I immediately brought them back in to exchange. The owner then wiped it off and told me it was fine. I insisted on an exchange and was told to contact manufacture.

Dont shuffle paying customers away the second your closing if you want to stay in business. I really try to support local businesses but they make it difficult when their prices are already too high. Just like the young idiots that work there. Been going there for 15 plus years but I wont be returning. Ill just go to the konnexion and get way better products and they actually know what theyre talking about. And wouldnt tell a customer whos about to buy an expensive item that they need to go home

What to Moondog to try to sell some LPS he was honest about what he would would not take was not disrespectful to the records that I had purchased some of them and gave me information on how to eliminate the rest of them so he was very nice had to go back

Walked in hoping to buy find and buy some old school rock. I stopped at the bumper sticker rack and looked and all three racks had tons of nothing but psychotic liberal hate and anti capitalism stickers. So I walk out empty handed. I thought about pointing out that hes a capitalist with a store full of anti-capitalism stickers.Looked like a good cd selection.

Great selection of tunes, especially the Americana section (but not limited to this genre). Staff will talk music with you and are happy to provide recommedations. In the era of streaming music its a welcome oasis with a personal touch. Also a sizeable used catalog with fair prices.
