Good selection of items, definitely geared towards contractors vs. individuals like me. As a result, staff/helpful knowledge is more limited, but this is the business model and expected. However, if you do need assistance and ask for help, the staff is usually knowledgeable!

I could spend hours and thousands of dollars in Menards. Until I reach that level of financial gain I find all of what i need on the clearance shelves. This is the main reason I shop at Menards. You will find the clearance sections throughout the store, but the one in the carpet section is the best. Ive found area rugs, remnants, runners, all for an amazing price. The clearance section Ive recently discovered is in the interior door section. You will find discounted closet, panel, hollow, and solid doors marked down to as low as $10 a door. I had a wonderful salesgirl named Cloie help me. The store is located on Hwy 20 heading towards Waterloo which is a bit of a drive for me but definitely worth it.

You can find people in Menards uniforms hiding in groups quietly conversing in the dark corners of the store. Even when you can wrangle them up , they dont know anything.

Wonderful expierence today at the Dubuque Menards! Was searching for an item w/ no luck and an associate noticed n asked can I help you find what your looking for? He personally walked me to the item several isles away. I was extremely thankful.Always love the variety and seasonal items too. GREAT STORE!

Not good. Pre-ordered online. Went back to Pre-order area and they said that I had to go and pick pcs out. OK??? When I got to the number I needed, the wrong inventory was in the wrong spot so what I need wasnt there even though online they said they had 17pcs on hand. The lady in the work area was trying to help and said they would investigate. She was helpful. Her manager told her that this wasnt Menards fault and I would just have to wait. So whose fault is it and who makes it right for the customer?

My main place to go when I need supplies for home improvements. I enjoy the fact that they have the 11% rebate going on so often. I also applaud their requiring their customers to wear masks. Its a small inconvenience when compared to the fact that its helping to protect customers and staff safe. Wish more stores would take their example.

Yikes!!! Watch out for flat tires!!! Got a flat tire in a brand new tire after driving past this store. The frontage road is filled with debris from the Dittmer garbage trucks hauling waste away from this place. Informed the store manager and he said he was going to talk to the garbage company.

Made the hour drive here to purchase a safe as they claim to have a price match guarantee and I found what they had at $889 for $799 at another local retailer, a 44 minute further drive in the opposite direction. Upon speaking with staff, they apparently get to choose what they want to honor, and this they opted not to. Crooked business that has come to be expected of these big box retailers. Use guarantees to get you in the door, then deny responsibility.

Lots of product, lots of help, and a well lit store like other Menards stores, but not as conveniently organized by signage as another competitor. I did find what I needed.

Easy to order and pick up in Lumbar Yard

I come to this Menard at least once a week. looking for odd things I need a whim. never had any trouble looking for anything because the workers are extremely nice even with the current pandemic situation.I had one guy literally walk around with me for about an hour helping me pick the best budget shingles for a garage.

Over the years I have been a loyal and consistent customer of Menards. I have spent thousands of dollars there. Due to the fact that they dont support our Veterans (no Veteran discount like Lowes) and are forcing people to wear masks (at a profit for themselves since theyll sell you one before you go in) I am reconsidering ever doing business with them. My stimulus check is going to home improvements and that money will be spent else where. The only purchases I plan to make at Menards will now be to use up the rebates I have.

I use Menards as a hardware store with lumber. I used to be heavy into contracting but am now a speaker designing hobbyist and the Menards in dubuque is far superior to any other surrounding stores for veneer, stain, hardware, hardwood, electrical, all the way to plumbing for ports. Just aside from crossover parts it fully meets my requirements.

This location always has friendly people and a wonderful selection!

Went into Menards to get screen door. I asked for help. Lady was there in 15 seconds. Showed me doors. I picked 1 up and she was back with the hardware for it. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Awesome!

Went to try and go to the garden center today. Had my mask and my baby. She was sleeping in her car seat with 2 blankets over her completely and they would not let me in. No kids under 16. How will that help? It wont! I always shop there but not anymore. They are going overboard with their rules. This is not the law and they should shut down completely or let everyone in. Ridiculous!

We had many things to return that we didnt use in our renovation and to many tapes to go through but the return girl at Menards was a gem. With a smile she went through our 5 bags and gave us a store credit. Thats 1 great reason to shop Menards!

The young lady in electrical department was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Menards had in stock what we needed to replace a leaky tub faucet. Replacing the handle and interior mechanism ourselves, with the help of an easy-to-follow youtube video, saved plenty and feels good.

When I asked about a specific item at the Dubuque store, the young man I asked didnt even look my way when he said If its not on the shelf, we dont have it. Disappointing service when normally so good

Returning anything takes 45 minutes.

So happy theyve been requiring masks. They were one of the first places here. I would have chosen Menards over Lowes anyday. Now Ive got even more reason to do so.

Bought a 10 mm socket from here but i lost it in the parking lot. 10/10 would mechanic again.

Menards always has just what Im looking for. Theyre doing a great job of stopping the spread of covid-19 as everyone is required to wear a mask in the store. Its nice to feel somewhat safe going out in the world as it is. the Dubuque store seems to have more on hand than the ones in Cedar Rapids. As I live pretty much in between the two, it makes it easier to decide to go to Dubuque.

Every time I shop here the staff is so helpful, the store is very clean & there is always great product. I always enjoy my time shopping here.

A great home improvement store, with consistently low prices. From tools to materials, selection is always good. Weekly deals and rebates add additional value. Staff genuinely want to be helpful, and many have trade experience. My preferred store for all home projects.

Very disappointed with Menards paint department because I gave them the paint code of the color I needed which by the way it was their own paint code from four years ago so it’s not like they couldn’t mix that exact color Because they’ve done it before, they managed to somehow still mess it up and give me a 5 gallon bucket of paint that wasn’t even near the same color as the one I requested and gave the paint code for. So money and time has been wasted and now more money and time because I have to go back out there so they can mix me a new one. Yes they have apologized for the mistake and are mixing me up a new container but with all this money and time wasted I was hoping they would offer something like in-store credit as well but they haven’t.

Menards is Virtue Signaling, by making paying customers wear a mask, and if they do not have one they can buy a cheap food prep 20 cent mask for a $1. Where was your company from the start of this? Now its necessary, since we now have masks we can sell for a vastly over priced amount. I think people are being charged for price gauging for PPE. Maybe Menards needs to be investigated. Its interesting they, along with other big box stores, were allowed to stay open this whole time, while other smaller businesses were forced to close. And open the whole time while not enforcing masks. smh

Black friday...people from store brought around donuts and coffee to people in line. Handed out ads and maps. Super helpful in finding things. Great experience.

I did a pick up order and they put a 20 pint dehumidifier in my car and I paid for a 30 pint dehumidifier. I didnt discover it til I got home. I called them and Im waiting to hear back from them. It doesnt seem to be going well.

Willie in the plumbing department is a rockstar. I work in customer service relations myself and the service provided by Willie and the other staff members turned a nearly ruined Christmas present into a bigger and better experience and I could have thought. I purchased an entertainment center with a Built-in electronic fireplace 2 weeks before Christmas and a week later when I went to pick it up I was told that my item is no longer available and had been sold, even though I had already paid for it. I was offered an exchange for an item that was bigger and better than what I was going to originally purchase, I accepted the offer and couldnt be happier.

Shop regional for home improvement supplies and many other around the home products including pet supplies, grocery, greeting cards and books. Be sure to shop their Back-to-School supply sale and the seasonal holiday decor.

Got what I needed

This store is ran by con-artists! You go to return an item that you no longer need and its always instore credits instead of your money back. Pretty sad that the only way they keep people coming back is to keep your money and give you an instore credit and your receipt states you can return item before such date to get full refund back yet they still give the instore credit instead of your money back. It would be better to shop at lowes due to they treat customers with respect and dont hold your money to keep you coming back! Will never shop at a menards stores again!

Tonight we came to dubuque menards because I wanted to purchase 2 more magic blankets. I got 2 today in platteville. The first customer service rep walked away as I approached the service desk. Another associate Jermiah saw me and came to assist. He did his best to help me find them. He called depts and did find them apparently they were not suppose to be out yet but he called back and got me 2. Thank you Jermiah.
