I had the BEST experience picking the dress of my dreams! This was my first time trying on dresses and I didn’t have a super clear idea of what I pictured myself in. Shelby quickly figured out my style, what I liked and found the perfect dress all while being respectful of my budget! There were so many dresses to choose from including a variety of sizes and styles. I loved the one on one appointment, the atmosphere was so relaxed and we all had a great time. I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else!

I first met with Shelby in her old shop, and tried on and picked up my dress in her new shop. I had tried on dozens of dresses before I came to her shop - thankfully she had the perfect dress for me. While she doesnt have the over-bubbly personality of a typical bridal salesperson, which can be helpful/comforting for many soon-to-be brides, I did appreciate that she was very straightforward and answered all of my questions confidently/knowledgably. I can tell she spends a lot of time perfecting her business - she is very organized and her new shop is beautiful. Her dress selection was slightly unique compared to other places I shopped and that was exactly what I was looking for. The quality and price were also very excellent. I made the trip from CR, and it was well worth it!

Amazing. Simply amazing. This was the bridal experience I wanted for myself and everyone who joined me. Shelby and her mom had the dresses I wanted to try on pulled and ready for me to try on - as well as some other options. Its a personal experience and I love it so much. I found my dream dress, the first one I tried on actually. I tried on other dresses but kept coming back to the first one. This store has UNIQUE dresses - ones that beat anything youve ever seen. Every single dress was simply breathtaking. If I could go back every day I would! All of my bridal party is going back to find their dresses at the shop. Plus, when walking in, the place is decorated and smells like the season. I went this month and it smells AMAZING in there. The list can go on and on.

I had a great experience with Shelby, she’s wonderful to work with! She had several dresses picked out before my appointment started which made it a quick process. She truly listens to what you like or don’t like. Shelby is very knowledgeable about the dresses she carries and was able to answer all of our questions. All I can say is WOW! I was very anxious about going shopping from the beginning. However, my nerves began to settle the minute I started talking with Shelby. Everything from booking the appointment to chatting about my inspiration for my dress felt like I was talking to my best friend. I had never met this woman, but it felt like she knew everything about me. The minute I stepped foot into the shop, a sense of calm came over me; everything was so serene. Shelbys boutique is stunning- all the gowns were on display, beautiful music playing in the background, and the best part is that you and your party are the only ones there. From the conversations Shelby and I had before my appointment, she pulled the gowns that she thought I would like the best, and let me tell you, she knows her stuff! I always thought it would be overwhelming trying on dress after dress, but the whole experience set my pace. I never felt rushed. Shelby let me take my time and talk it through with her and my party. When it came time to say yes to my dress, Shelby was so supportive. Some places can feel like the salesperson is reassuring you this is the one because they want to make the sale. Not Shelby. She was so kind and reassuring in her tone, and I could feel that she genuinely thought this dress was the one for me. If you couldnt tell already, my experience at Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique was wonderful! I wish I could work with Shelby on all my wedding to-do items! Getting engaged during COVID definitely put a whole new level of stress on trying to find the perfect dress but Shelby made the experience so fun and easy! Shelby is an amazing woman to work with and really has an eye for dresses. She hand picks all the dresses in her shop and the gown I ended up choosing was one she pulled for me! I went to three other dress shops and my favorites there were not as beautiful as even my least favorites at Vintage Chic. All appointments are 1-1 so you truly feel like it is all about you! Shelby takes time to help you in and out of dresses and never makes you feel rushed or that you have tried on too many dresses. The shop is very size inclusive which I know is not always the case. The shop itself is beautiful and I could not recommend anywhere else!

I give this place a 2 star review because the dresses she has are gorgeous, but Shelby was awful to work with. My experience at Vintage Chic was definitely not ideal. When I arrived, Shelby did not take the time to get to know me or chat with me about what my vision was for my day or anything like that. She went entirely based on dresses I had sent her, which is fine if you are trying to make a sale, but not if you are looking for a personal experience. I ended up finding one dress I was very interested in and even considered buying it, but since this was my first dress shopping experience and I had only tried on 5 dresses I was not sold on it and wanted to make sure I had explored all my options. I wanted to be 100% SOLD on my dress, as you should be when it is the biggest day of your life and youre spending a lot of money on it!! Shelby was very overbearing and was very pushy and made it clear she was only trying to make a sale that day and when she realized I was not going to purchase that day, she was very rude and unprofessional. She took it too personally and made it a place I never wanted to go back to even if I did end up wanting that dress. While she had some gorgeous gowns in store, the entire experience was very uncomfortable and unlike any other dress store I went to. You should feel like your consultant truly wants you to find the dress of your dreams!! WOULD NOT recommend.

Shelby has a unique talent for finding the perfect dress for you from the great selection she has at the store. If you’re thinking of going to Dubuque from Madison or anywhere slightly further away, you won’t be disappointed-it’s worth the trip! Shelby had selected several dresses for me to try based on the information I shared with her ahead of the appointment and while I tried on several with her help (and she was so patient and supportive while I tried on the same dresses more than once just to see them I again), I ultimately went with the very first dress. It was almost exactly what I had been looking for and had not been able to find anything like it elsewhere. Shelby helped me plan a customization to the straps that made the dress perfect. Beyond Shelby’s ability to find just the right the dress, the prices are great too! I didn’t expect to find the perfect dress at a reasonable price and that was such a pleasant surprise. Shelby is so responsive. I received a text from her within 15 minutes of booking an appointment. She listened to everything I had to say and invited me to come that same day instead of waiting. The experience at her boutique is phenomenal. As soon as you walk in it just feels right. It’s beautiful and is set up perfectly. Shelby is so kind and helpful and she just knows how to help you find the perfect dress! We had the best time here! And to top it off she didn’t blink an eye at me bringing my two month old with me! Worst experience i’ve ever had. she was rude. didn’t let me see any dresses other than the 4 she picked. no compliments. not friendly. inappropriately texted me about my point of view for visiting 2 hours away. not fitted for the job with her personality. Not sure how she is the owner and still running a business.

Shelby was SO helpful in finding me the perfect dress. She asked for pictures days before the appointment and started finding dresses that fit what I wanted. She was super easy going and friendly which made me much more comfortable. After visiting two other shops and traveling from Cedar Rapids, it was nice to feel like she actually listened to what I was looking for in a dress and pulled some for me before hand. I didn’t have to look through every dress in the store and try to determine what fit my wants in a dress while it’s hanging on a rack. Her shop was cute and quaint but had a huge dress selection!

I wouldn’t recommend anywhere but Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique!! I started my dress hunting looking at David’s bridal and I was so disappointed when they continued to bring me dresses I said I wouldn’t like. Then one night I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a video of the most perfect dress on Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique Facebook page and I sent it to my mom and said “THIS IS THE ONE!!” So I called the shop that night and asked if I could come see it in person and try it on. We scheduled something for the very next day. The boutique is absolutely gorgeous inside and very welcoming. Shelby asked me if I wanted to look at other dresses or just the one I fell in love with. I only wanted to try on the dress from the video first! Once it was on, it was all over!!! I had never felt so beautiful before!! I cried happy tears! Shelby made the whole process so incredibly simple and easy. I can’t wait to go back and get my dress when it comes in!

This place is a small boutique that is very personable. Dont let the size of the shop fool you, there is a wide selection. Went dress shopping with my sister, the bride to be, and had an amazing experience. I felt it was a much more catered and personal experience compare to the larger chain dress stores.

This boutique is absolutely beautiful! I got my wedding dress over the summer and it was the lost wonderful experience. I went to two shops before I visited Shelby’s and let me tell you, she was absolutely amazing. I didn’t really know what I wanted so right when my party and I arrived we were greeted with open arms and led to a wide array of dresses for me to try on. Shelby was helpful and extremely encouraging during my entire fitting and it took less than 30 minutes for me to say yes to the dress. Vintage chic boutique stands out from all the other bridal shops because no matter who you are it’s a one on one experience with her. Not only is she such a sweet person her shop is absolutely gorgeous and it is extremely obvious how much love and attention she puts into her shop. She made me and my entire party feel extremely comfortable and also showed us options for veils and hair pieces. Not only are her dresses absolutely breath taking and extremely size inclusive she has the most beautiful accessories. I drove over two hours to see Shelby and I would gladly do it again. When I came into the shop it was my first time shopping for a wedding dress. Shelby already had dresses pulled which I loved so we didn’t have to waste anytime! I traveled 3 hours from the Des Moines metro to visit Vintage Chic. Finding a shop that was within my budget for a dress was difficult, so when I saw the shop had plenty of options for me, I knew I had to try it. And Im so glad I did! Shelby has a wonderful personal touch, contacting me two days before my appointment to get a feel for what I was looking for. She was intuitive to what I needed and still let me try on more dresses after I found The One so I could be sure of my decision. Im excited to go back and pick up my dress!

My experience at Vintage Chic was more amazing than my words can describe. Shelby, the owner, was so kind, caring, passionate about her work, and all-around phenomenal. I have tried on lots of pageant dresses and gone to quite a few dress boutiques in my past and have never had a great experience (especially as a plus-size woman). I didnt want finding my wedding dress to be as hard, as confidence-wrecking, and as frustrating as my previous prom/pageant experiences have been. I couldnt have chosen a better place to go or a better person to work with. Shelby let me pick out dresses that I wanted to try on and already had some options ready for me when I showed up. She made me feel comfortable in changing and trying on dresses, she encouraged me to try on different styles (while staying true to what I wanted). Shelby also felt like one of the family while my bride tribe was shopping with me! I had my family with me and Shelby fit right in with how silly but supportive my bride team was! Her store is clean, well kept, a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, all around it was a personal atmosphere and experience. She has a WIDE selection of dresses that fit all kinds of body types. All at an affordable price. I was just planning on buying my dress there but I felt so welcomed and awesome at Vintage Chic, I plan to go back and buy my bridal accessories! The store front has moved according to where it was versus where Google took us. It is on Central next to a gun depot. From the front it doesnt look very glamorous, but once inside it was cozy and inviting. Shelby was an immense help, very patient and positive. Happy to have found my special day dress here!

Of all the boutiques I went to (8+) I had the best experience at Vintage Chic! Shelby had pulled some dresses she thought I might like which kept me from feeling overwhelmed looking through racks of dresses. She was also very flexible with appointments and easy to communicate with! The shop was organized although a bit dark compared to most bridal salons. After months of looking and trying on more dresses than I can remember I found my dress at Vintage Chic! I cant wait until i can pick it up

It was a much more comfortable experience than I had anywhere else, I felt valued as a person, like she cared about how the day went, not just about how much money I spent like other places I’d visited before. My appointment was a unique one. My future mother-in-law wanted to be part of the appointment but wasn’t able to make the trip. Shelby went above and beyond and let me video chat during the appointment. I had all my important people their and that meant so much. I tried on a variety of dresses but I kinda knew which one I wanted before going in. I had seen it on Instagram and instantly fell in love. As soon as I put it on, I didn’t want to take it off. I bought my dress from Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique yesterday and had a wonderful experience! Most places didnt have what I was looking for, and it was kind of a headache searching through thousands of pages, even after trying to filter what I was looking for! Shelby has her dresses posted on her Pinterest boards, so its really easy to scroll through!She sends you a questionnaire to help narrow down what exactly you are looking for, and her email so you can send pictures prior so she can make sure she has something similar to what you are looking for, saving her and you time!She is a one lady shop, so its a chill relaxing environment, with just herself, your entourage and you!When we got there she had a selection of dresses picked and ready to try on. It took 30 minutes for me to find the perfect dress!! And it was soooo stress free!!I love the personal touch of the photo when you find your dress ♥️Shelby is amazing and so is her boutique!!

I loved my visit to Shelbys boutique! The space is clean and tasteful and not over-the-top bridal which generally made me more comfortable. The dresses are neatly organized and there is cozy seating for guests. Shelby helped me into each one of my dresses and in to them again when I needed another look. She listened to me go on and on about what was making my decision difficult and offered good advice. In addition Ive always been a terrible decision maker. Shelby was so patient and kind with me. I would reccomend her to anyone. And having the place to yourself is absolutely the best way to buy a wedding dress. The whole store is just for you.

I cannot say enough about Shelby at Vintage Chic. She took all of my weird personality quirks in stride and gave me a truly memorable experience (I only quoted Iliza Shlesinger like.... 20 times) She was so open and attentive to everything about finding a dress for the big day. Coming in, I was almost certain I knew what I wanted, but I definitely left with a dress that makes me feel amazing. I was recommended this place by a friend. We had an appointment with Shelby and It was amazing. We were the only ones there as she is by appointment only right now. We had one on one attention that is definitely needed in our 2 hour appointment. I got to try multiple different styles of dresses with out feeling pressured to buy something or pressure to hurry up. I would definitely recommend going there if you are in the market for a wedding dress!

Today being in Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique was a customes dream! I was so comfortable and Shelby was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, funny and energetic. I told her the type of dress I imagined and she literally knew exactly what I wanted. Such a beautiful store with so many beautiful selections! Best experience I have had in town at bridal shops! I loved I was the only bride trying dresses on! Made me feel so special and not rushed. Other shops I felt like I was just another bride looking for a dress. Not at Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique! Based upon my experience with Shelby, the owner of Vintage Chic Bridal Boutique, I would never do business with her nor would I EVER recommend anyone else do so.I had an appointment 11/17 at 10:30. Prior to the appointment I filled out an entire survey that had me give her ideas of what I was wanting/looking for etc.We got to my appointment, upon walking into the boutique we instantly had a couple concerns. 1, it was FREEZING. There were 2 space heaters running but it was still very cold. 2, the bathroom was DISGUSTING. I wish we would have taken a picture. Urine covered the toilet, the seat was broken, overall very unclean. 3, Shelby asked what I was looking for as if she hadnt even glanced at the form I had to fill out, the form which took a bit of time because she wanted in detail exact things I was looking for.There were a couple dresses that caught my eye so I tried them on, trying to ignore the other issues. There were a couple dresses I liked but I did not LOVE. We left and thanked her, she stated she noted what I was looking for and would look around.We left and went to find food and stumbled across another bridal store in Dubuque. I ended up finding the dress I loved there and purchasing it.During my time there, I checked my phone and had noticed Shelby called me and texted me MULTIPLE times stating she had found the dress. I replied to her once I got home, at that point I had realized she had also continued to message me from her personal Facebook because I had not answered her texts. I replied letting her know I appreciated her time and help but I did end up finding the dress I was looking for. She proceeded to attempt to make me feel bad and then ask where I got it. I did not reply because I did not feel that was anything I needed to answer. She then saw where I had gotten it from and proceeded to harass me from there.She childishly replied saying it upset her that I posted what a great experience I had where I purchased my dress. I told her it was nothing personal I just found the dress i loved there and again appreciated her time and her accommodating us. She asked what I ended up getting, I showed her the picture of the dress I purchased and informed her of some changes I was having done to the dress since they had been requirements of mine. She proceeded to then attempt to guilt trip me and harass me. She questioned the shops knowledge in dresses and tried telling me she didnt think the changes were possible and if they were they would be costly. She proceeded to message a seamstress that the shop I purchased my dress from uses and ask her the pricing of what it would cost for the change. Absolutely unprofessional. She continued to drag down the other shop and guilt trip me. I finally replied informing her I felt what she was doing was VERY unprofessional, I am sorry I didnt buy my dress from you however this was not acceptable and I would appreciate if she stopped messaging me. She mentioned that where I purchased my dress is where she used to work but it was nothing personal. I again told her I didnt ask for her input and I didnt appreciate what she was doing, I told her I was confident with my purchase and what I discussed with the shop and to have a good night. She responded with well as long as youre confident...I find it VERY unprofessional that as a business owner, you message someone who had been to your shop, and try to make them feel bad about purchasing elsewhere. This is part of the business you are in. Not every shop carries everything and some shops will not have what someone was looking for. That does NOT mean it is okay or acceptable for you to message that client and harass them about purchasing somewhere else and try to play it off like youre just looking out for them. It does not look good as a business owner to drag other shops.Moral of the story, very unclean, unprofessional, pushy, and rude!

My experience was so great at Vintage Chic with Shelby Duggan! Started off by getting there and she had dresses pulled for what I kind style I had described in the email she sends prior to your appointment. Her shop is soooo cute and has many styles of dresses in various sizes that ACTUALLY fit you an leave with that day if you find the one! I am one that is normally not super confident about things but the dress that I picked made me feel like a million bucks and I know that it is going to be GORGEOUS on my wedding day! I honestly cant wait until the next time I get to put this beautiful dress on! Also, ended up with a veil which I told my mother I NEVER wanted. But once Shelby got me back in the dress, she dolled up my hair, gave me some jewelry to wear and just like that the simplest things made things come to life! Thanks for such a great experience!

VCBB popped up in my Facebook feed MONTHS before I was engaged and I literally found my dress unknowingly shortly after when she announced her orderable line. Not even kidding there lolDress shopping made me SO anxious. Im not very girly so I was a little scared I wouldnt find a dress I liked, or that I felt flattered me. Plus we drove in from Cedar RapidsMy maid of honor and I got there and Shelby instantly was eager and excited to help me find my dress. My fears pretty much instantly went away and the excitement set in. She wanted to know all the details of the proposal, our relationship, what our plans were for the wedding. Of course all things I feel like to-be brides always want to talk about lol I know I do.She picked a bunch of dresses for me and so did my MOH and I. Shelby was incredible with feedback on what to try next, the different changes I could make to a dress, etc. I ended up falling in love with one specific dress (the one I saw months prior and loved) but was torn between that one and one that was similar with a different back. Shelby definitely knows her wedding dresses. She had seamstress recommendations and everything on how I could alter the first dress to have the elements that I loved of the second one, literally making my dress one of a kind.Super professional, the shop is small enough to be cozy but not so small you suffocate in wedding dresses, I loved that we had the whole place to ourselves. Made dress shopping a lot less nerve wracking for me honestly.

I dont know where to start!?!? The website was super helpful for giving me an idea of what to expect. This was my first stop and only stop. Shelby has a little piece of heaven with her adorable shop! There was plenty of room for my girls to sit comfortably, the air was on and thats amazing when you are changing in and out of dresses! I love how you can change in your own room and never felt preasured at all. I seriously recommend this place if you arent sure where to start. I cant stop thinking about my dress and had such a fun time looking for one. I cant talk it up enough!!
