Scam artists. Stopped for a quick purchase of a pack of cigarettes. First, they charge 75 cents for a debit/credit card transactions, but ok, thats a common practice. The guy ran my transaction, credit card machine was super slow, he finally said transaction didnt go through, canceled it & did another one, then stated that there is a communication error & transactions arent going through at all. I asked him if he was sure that I wasnt charged for any one of the transactions. He assured me that I wasnt, so I left. Next day I see a transaction posted on my checking account. Now, mind you - it has already posted, it wasnt pending! That means that the merchant sent the receipt & requested funds from the bank AND bank already paid them!So I call the store, the lady with a heavy Asian accent tells me I need to bring proof of transaction posting on my account & the debit card. I tell her that of course I have all that info! Im not trying to get anything from them that doesnt belong to me as it is! Couple of hours later she calls me and tells me that they have no receipts or records of that transaction & its my bank that charged me & I need to take it out with them!I guess she thought Im stupid & I dont know how the banking transactions actually gets processed & how merchants get paid! If they havent already gotten that money the transaction would be pending! Not posted! Merchants have up to 3 days to claim their money! They claimed it the same night!Filed a dispute with chase of course, but nevertheless this is very bad customer service, and business practice to lie to your customers & charge for products that werent actually sold!I call is theft & scam!Beware!
