I scheduled my husband an appointment at the Vision Center. I clearly asked them on the phone if they accepted his type of insurance, and the woman said yes they do. He just left the vision center with a $144 bill (just for the eye exam) that should have only been a $10 copay because the faculty there doesnt know how to do their job. I would not recommend going to this place, because they obviously do not know how to train the staff or take care of the customers properly.Epic Vision in Dodge City did a very good job with me when I went with them.

Even though the Optometrist is independently from the actual Vision Center inside Wal-Mart. He took good care of me during my visit. The exam and cost was very reasonable to me in comparison to other doctors I have visited in town and out of town and trust me, it is a big difference.The Vision Center inside this Wal-Mart isnt own by Wal-Mart themselves but actually by a bigger company named National Vision which apparently owns several other Optical Retail Brands like Americas Best, Eyeglass World, and other more. The customer service I received from the staff there was amazing. They were able to offer many promotions to meet my wants and needs. I could have literally left with three pairs at the cost of what would have cost me at another office in town but I prefer quality over quantity anytime. They did mention to me that the turn around of me getting my glasses was 7-10 business days. Despite the small wait, totally worth it. Convenient and low prices with good quality lens. Plus adding the great customer service I got through the whole process. Wonderful.

I was helped pretty fast! The young man behind the counter was very friendly. I was in and out within 30 minutes of picking my frames!

The people in the vision center are really nice but they are stuck in a bad sisituation. I was told 7 to ten days to make my glasses and they keep telling me the lab hasnt shipped them but they are done. Sorry guys but ill go to a eyeglass world or lenscrafters next time. I wont have to wait almost 2 weeks for a pair of glasses so i can actually see and stuff.

I ordered 2 pairs of prescription glasses from the Vision Center located within the Walmart store in Dodge City, Kansas. I found out during my visit the Walmart does not own nor operate the Vision Center located within this particular store. Had I known this I probably would have not shopped there.Initial store visit was pleasant and proceeded pretty quickly to ordering a couple of pairs of prescription glasses. Pricing was fair and they were not an authorized provider for my Blue Cross insurance so my wife handled that through the insurance company directly.Since I lived some 90 miles away from the store it was decided that my glasses would be sent to me via UPS. I was told to call if they failed to arrive by a date that was colored in highlighter on my invoice.The highlighted date, Monday, came and I had not received my glasses so I called the store to inquire about them. I was put on hold for several minutes and was told that the glasses shipped on the previous Friday. I was also told that due to the Christmas rush it may take extra time for UPS to deliver my glasses. They finally showed up on Wednesday which was a couple of days late, so no big deal. I noticed that they were not sent to me until Tuesday which is the day before I received them. It is possible that the person that told me they we shipped on Friday actually meant that the glasses were shipped to the store on Friday and they had to be re-shipped out to me. The glasses I received are fine and actually fit pretty well out of the box so I went on my merry little way will little intention of writing a review (It would have been 4 stars). The glasses were very poorly packaged with no padding to keep the glasses in their cases from banging around in the large box. I was not happy about that.About a week after I received the glasses I received a robo call inquiring as to my recent purchase satisfaction. I hung the phone up abruptly because I do NOT like automated phone calls of any sort. I would rather talk to a real person as sometimes I have questions to ask. The next day I received another call from a live person asking about my satisfaction with my recent glasses purchase. I told the young lady that the glasses were fine, but I was maybe a little ticked off about the information given regarding the shipping of my glasses. She then told me I was wrong and wanted to argue about the situation. Really??? I finally told her I was busy working and ended the call.Would I return to this location for eye wear in the future? Most likely not due to my experience with the caller and their somewhat limited inventory of eyeglasses frames. I took off 1 star for the business not being owned by Walmart and the limited inventory they had. I took off 1 star for the robo call and the miss-information regarding shipping and I took off 1 star for the customer service call I received today.The Vision Center in Dodge City is certainly not a bad place to go, you will get your glasses, but you might not like the the limited selection or the robo call. Had I not been traveling to Dodge City for work once a week I would have never gone to Walmart there in the first place. I may stick with the eye doctors glasses selection or go to Wichita the next time this comes up.
