My first visit at Texas State Optical with Dr. Escoto went great. She was very thorough, answered all my questions and took her time. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The wait time was very little, and overall I had great experience.

Service was tremendous; I was assisted by both Taylor and Ashlyn who exhibited great professionalism.Dr. Salazar provided me with a thorough and comprehensive eye exam that made me feel very satisfied with the care and treatment I was given.

I’m so glad I chose this location! The office staff and Taylor were all Soo Welcoming and Helpful! Very Professional!! They helped recommend my many options for my eyeglasses! Being stuck with glasses I can’t see out of, and being told “Oh yea, we neglected to mention you can’t wear your Very expensive New glasses at Night time.” *Caused At Fault Accident* Oh that’s not all. I’m then Given a $80 box of contacts I CANT SEE OUT OF!!! Won’t be returning, definitely don’t recommend

The best experience I have ever had and I have been seeing optometrists for 44 years! Dr. Lori Gonzalez was great, she did an extremely thorough exam and explains everything completely. The Dr and office staff were sooooo nice, accommodating, knowledgeable and patient. Dr Salazar was very considerate and listened to my concerns about my vision lately. He conducted a thorough exam and I walked out, for the first time in over a decade, with a prescription I felt really happy with and could tell a huge improvement in my sight. I had to try on like 15 pairs of glasses before I found the ones I wanted and they sanitize each pair you try on afterward so I felt kinda bad for touching so many but she was so nice. Definitely recommend to anyone to come here, especially if youve been having issues getting the right prescription like I had

First of all. I always get stressed going to get glasses, worried about price for lenses and prisms. Dr. Joe Salazar was so polite and helpful, he EXPLAINED EVERYTHING to me. The office staff was excellent from the check-in lady to the one that helped me find my eyewear they were all kind and willing to answer any questions I had. I left feeling comfortable about my purchase. Glasses is an expense every year but this year Im thankful I found this place. Im a customer for life!

I’ve scheduled an appointment for the upcoming Monday. I had initially scheduled for elsewhere closer to home for convenience. However the receptionist proved to be completely incompetent in pulling insurance benefits, even with much assistance from myself and VSP.I called this place, looking for an ASAP appointment. Not only was Ashlyn (sp?) incredibly helpful in scheduling, pulling my insurance with ease, (after requesting the previous optometry location to release their hold to which they said they did not pull, but was also confirmed to be pulled by VSP... headache 🤕) she explained my benefits in great detail, was patient, kind and efficient. I have yet to have my appointment and meet my new optometrist, and receive my new contacts. However, with Ashlyns great assistance already, I have high hopes that this place will suit my need for competency much better.UPDATE: I had my appointment today and ALL the staff along with Dr. Gonzalez are absolutely amazing! They conduct themselves as a family working together and cover all bases. They all explain everything in depth. I have never been to an optometrist office with a more pleasant experience. I highly recommend this office. They even kindly offered water or coffee and were in line with all COVID recommendations. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I could literally go on and on about scheduling to leaving after the appointment and walking in HEB being able to see without struggling again. You think that after using the same contact brand for years that you’ll never have issues when you vision gets worse to just changing power but it happens. Rather than having a one fits all approach, my optometrist made a few changes that should hopefully help me adjust with the comfortability I used to have with my lenses. I truly felt like she took the time to look at what MY eyes and MY vision comfort with lenses needed and tailored it so. Not that others don’t, she and this whole office simply went above that. Thank you all so so much!

I need my glasses repaired. I stopped in to ask if they can do the repairs. - Yes, we can!, and they did and five minutes later the lady had me try on the glasses, cleaned them and handed them back to me. I asked how much I owe them... Nothing, and here is a cleaning cloth for you. Enjoy your day. There is no reason not to reward them with a 5-star rating.

I will never do buisness here again. Seriously the staff is HORRIBLE! They are rude, lazy, and incompetent. I have been waiting a month for my glasses. I called a week after they were supposed to be in and she blamed them being late on shipping and Thanksgiving. Fine. So I just called again, almost 3 weeks after they were supposed too be here, because no one has called me, and she says, Oh, there here, someone was supposed to have called you, sorry. Really? Im so done.

Absolutely the worst place i have ever went to for eye care, called in to order my contacts after exam, 4 days later they didnt even have a record of me calling? Total unorganization,And also quoted me a price but at pick up, it was $50 dollars more. I got the feeling they did this alot. BEWARE

This people lie and ordered my glasses wrong had to Waite a month and a half before I could get my glasses and on my husbands glasses we have to go back to redo them because he is not even able to see with them at night ordered them with transitioning and charged for it and didnt even get that but we were charged for it never again will I go back to this people.
