I found personnel to be helpful and friendly equipment was clean and available my service was served with a smile love the Baltimore location in Detroit Mi will recommend to others

I made reservations for rental the previous day to save time. When I got there I couldnt recall my sign in information but the staff was very helpful so that was not an issue. Rental went quickly eventhough I couldnt recall my information. Very knowledgeable. There was a mistake on the contract amount, But staff quickly corrected the mistake without argument. So yes Id advise customers to use this Uhaul location and Uhaul in general for price and knowledge.

The 2 employees I encountered were very helpful at the Baltimore location, clean facility, and all…very satisfied. The only thing I have to be more mindful of the mileage because I wasn’t expecting to exceed over my planned ones

Most of the personnel was nice and friendly. The return process needs to be improved. I rented two dolly’s separate from my truck rental. However, I returned them at the same time. But I was charged $252 for the dolly’s. I called to inquire about the charge. I was informed they are saying I kept the dolly’s for 17 days. Which is not the case, I went inside to return the dolly’s. I was told to put them back in the outside return bay (a small fenced in area in the center of the parking lot). I even asked the attendant if I needed to do anything. He said did you pay with credit card? I said yes, then he said no, they would charge me. Had I known this meant they would be charging me $250 instead of the correct amount of $29, I would have insisted on getting a printout...

They have all the things assuming its not down for maintenance. Saturday afternoon staff is utterly useless so make a reservation and have your number ready.

Rented a van to pick up a loveseat and table at Ikea. Online reservation and check-in reduced wait time on the day of my rental. Staff were very friendly & helpful in finding the vehicle & loading in my rental dolly. Return was super easy. Clean public restrooms & water fountain were important on a hot spring day. id use this U-haul again.

I waited in line for an entire hour on a Sunday morning in order to get the truck. This location desperately needs more staff.

The local team was great bit I tried to checkout a vehicle using the UHaul App on my Android phone and it is so messed up. App took me in circles, I gave up after 4 tries and checked out with a UHAul associate at the location instead.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. When I had walked in, the employee had helped a customer behind me which made the long waiting process even longer. The gas was lower than what the sheet told me it was original filled at. Employee told me to drop it off before 11pm and I had dropped it off at 9pm. I had pumped gas right before I had returned the truck. Now they are charging me 54.59$ for fuel service, fuel charge, and after hours fees. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. AND IF YOU DO BE SURE TO TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU RETURN

Most unhelpful customer service. Rude management no one ever answers the phone. There is 1 elevator for 8 floors and 1000 units. You need a lock cut you have to schedule an appointment which is ridiculous. Definitely don’t waste your time with these clowns they are a complete waste of time.

Great Location and it did have very professional and helpful staff 3 employees were in front! Fast service started rental on line and resulted in shorter time at the counter... they have a lot full of vans and trucks to rent compared to Home Depot!!! I highly recommend this location if you need to move something for a short time period!!!

Clerk was very careless to my special arrangements after uhaul rental though it’s a given option with the company. Caught a flat in the rental truck took forever to get ahold of the roadside assistance so I had no choice but to take car of it on my own. Returned vehicle at 1/4 tank of gas to still be charged $38 extra for gas probably the last time my family will be renting with uhaul

I had a smooth, safe, contactless experience at this location. The facility was well-kept inside and out, and the van I rented had no issues at all. 100% recommend this spot to folks moving in/around the Detroit area.

I was able to use the app without having to go in and wait. This cut the time in half.

This is the best u-haul store Ive used in Detroit. Knowledgeable staff that works fast, and my truck was ready ahead of schedule.

This storage building has the worst security sign in and out system..I have been there for maybe 2 1/2 wks and the alarm check n & out boxes never work..there is one on outer door..wheelchair entrance, doesnt work! Very inconvenient if someone is disabled. They dont have access cards available either, this u can use for convenience instead of entering your code manually. They prices are too high for not having working alarm equipment!!

My name is Brad. My wife Chris and I are third party sellers on Amazon, both .ca and .com and have all of our products shipped to this location for pick up and storage.We are from Cambridge, ON.We started using this facility in September of 2019 and right off the bat, found it to be the pro grade place we had been looking for.Steve Garrett Jr. and his team quickly showed us why this was the best place for us and our business.This is a very clean building with all the tools, like carts, freight elevator to situate out products, to an indoor work area for when we unload and process pallets of product to be brought back to Canada and has an indoor truck loading area as well.This helps our business immensely!Whenever we have shipments arrive, Steve will unload them, place them in a secure area and then notify us to come pick them up.Excellent communication has always taken place when a shipment is in process.The best part is that when we need a truck to bring a shipment back to Canada, there are plenty right there!I would very highly recommend U-Haul Moving & Storage of New Center to anyone who operates a small business like ours.You dont find the quality of this facility very often.Thanks Steve and Team!! There was only one worker the entire day. Upon returning there was still the one guy that was there when I picked the truck up with no help. I asked for a dolly and it wasn’t in the truck. Called and let the employee know and I get my receipt and the charge for the dolly is on my receipt. My overall experience was not good at all!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to use this storage facility, I had an absolute horrible experience with this place. They claim it is a very secure environment, but this facility offers a college student discount to lure students to keep their belongings at this location and knowing that most college students leave for the summer. When I came back in the fall my lock was cut off of my unit and a staff member had placed their own lock on my unit without any notification. I had a large amount of my belongings taken from my unit and the staff wasn’t any help nor seamed to see this as an issue. When this issue was brought up, the staff members acted like they didnt know anything about the lock and wouldn’t look back on the cameras. The manager, Steve was not returning his phone calls in a timely manner like he had promised, and I wasn’t able to leave a voicemail because his voicemail box was full; very unprofessional. Some of the things that were stolen from me includes my laptop, T.V., suitcases of clothes, totes of shoes, and many other items. I am writing this review to encourage anyone looking for a self-storage unit to go anywhere else, so you do not have to go through the same appalling experience as I had.

I’m no longer a Ubox customer, but I have been four times. The transparency of pricing needs work because you’re possibly going to be gouged for transportation to your next destination. Also, do not be surprised if you’re monthly rate is misquoted too low. Customer support is lacking because “I’ll call you back” just doesn’t happen when said by support. Took multiple calls to get anything done. Very frustrating experience and felt like my stuff was a little held hostage....

I hate leaving bad reviews bc I always try to give the business the benefit of the doubt but I just don’t want what happened to me happen to anyone else.Me and my fiancé are unemployed, my fiancé just got in a car accident and totaled his car (not at fault), and neither of us have had luck finding employment so we unfortunately had to put our house up for sale and move back in with my parents. Due to the fact that he totaled his truck and his dads was in the shop we resorted to renting a uhaul to help us move all our items into storage. It was a great deal! 39.95 + tax, then $0.79 a mile after. Made the reservation online. Everything was all set. He picked up the truck around 11am and had it until 6pm. It took us about 25 min to get from the uhaul location in Detroit to our house, in Ferndale. Only about 10 miles. Then the storage location was only about 3 miles from out house. We made one trip to the storage unit then returned it. Totaling no more than 30 miles which means our grant total should have been around $65. Needless to say packing up the truck then moving all the stuff into the storage until took the majority of our time. We managed to pack up our whole house in a matter of 6hrs!!! Our first home together. It was a very emotional day. Pretty stressful as well. It was a hard day but we did it. I thought the worse was over, until I saw my bank account the next day. Uhaul had charged my card almost $500. I just couldn’t understand. So then I saw the receipt they emailed me. It stated I went 476 miles. 476 miles in a 20 ft Uhaul in 7 hrs? That’s not even a possibility. It would take almost 11 hrs to travel that distance. So I called the office to clear this up. I was given a lot of attitude. I was then transferred to the manager. I thought for sure this was a mix up and that someone would help me. Nope! He was more rude than the previous person I spoke to. I just didn’t get it. I worked in customer service for 10 yrs and was on the managers side for 4 of that. How could someone treat a customer with such disrespect. I was told I had no proof that they were incorrect and there was nothing I could do. What about the fact that it would have literally not been possible to travel that distance in 7 hrs? Or maybe the fact that we picked up the truck with half a tank of gas and used it so minimal that the gas gage didn’t even move so we never had to get gas. Our receipt even confirms it was picked it up and at half a tank when it was returned. It’s very obvious we were scammed but sadly we can do nothing about it. This is just a warning so this doesn’t happen to another trusting couple. I would give zero stars if I could.

Had a great experience with two gentleman managing a very long line of customers at this location on Sunday 6/28/2020. Despite being quite understaffed, they were both extremely professional and worked quickly and smoothly fielding customer questions and managing the very busy lot of vehicles. Kudos!

There was only one employee doing EVERYTHING at the Baltimore location! That is ridiculous and unsafe for him and the customers! He was back and forth, in and out, coming and going. He was cleaning out trucks as they returned while we were waiting in line. Just a terrible system. I was supposed to just pick up my key and go, but the key was misplaced and he was SO busy, of course I had to wait. Nice looking place, but extremely inefficient.

Update: I rented a tow dolly and Khalfani was amazing. Really went above and beyond in helping and educating me in regards to the details of the setup.Would highly recommend him to anyone.

I returned the truck to U-haul in Farmington Hills, I talked the the customer service rep and still almost got charged for an extra day because they lost the truck. The Detroit New Center Location was Awesome, Clean and got me on the Road within minutes. Really impressed with U-haul as a company.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Uhaul boxes have MANY kinks to work through. But uhaul (all of 50 people I talked to to transport my ubox) lied to me and failed to follow through. Angela Boone in Detroit agreed to refund me via check versus back on the card since my company paid to relocate me and I was the one being inconvenienced. I was promised to be refunded for a hotel due to my box being late plus the $50 late fee. So I am owed about $300 and I am being ignored. My box arrived to Englewood on time but they failed to schedule someone for another week to drop my box off. I then had to pay to haul my box out to my apartment when I originally paid for Uhaul to move it. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE AND PEOPLE! There were 2 people in the local Englewood office who helped, but thats 2 of hundreds of people at the company. Uhaul, you suck!

Absolutely loved the Midtown location! Everyoneve was very nice and extremely helpful. Helping my friend move during a pandemic was stressful but they eased my mind. When we got into the truck you could smell how clean everything was!

The only issue was the power being out in the building. But I think that was outside of the control of the company. Despite the power being out, the agent quickly got me into a truck.

Detroit’s New Center warehouse is great! Really beautiful building and great service from the Uhaul employees.

Very short staff, and I had to wait over 2 hours to receive my truck. While the employees themselves were friendly, it was evident that they needed additional help. There was only 1 employee working at the desks for the first 1.5 hours. Terrible management/service, will never use this location again.

I didn’t get the truck like I was suppose to on time I had to wait until the next day. And so far I have received the $50 refund I was promise.

WOW Haster helped me out as soon as I got here and made it a super easy experience for me. First time taking a trailer but I did it like a pro. I would highly recommend getting a trailer here.

They were ready for me. Very nice guy attached my trailer and taught us how to attach and detach in case we needed to do so at home. Trailer was clean and dry and made it through my 1,000 mi trip.

Ive only rented uhauls tomorrow going for storage so far no complaints I highly recommend this facility to all A1 rating in DETROIT.Once ii had to to keep truck longer than expected and they were very understanding and worked with me very economical

They know how to take a reservation, but keeping the reservation is a different story. They gave me a smaller truck than I asked for which doubled the time it took to move. They did cut the price per mile on half to make up for it. I wasnt the only one that day who couldnt get their reserved truck. They were friendly about the situation. They have a $50 reservation guarantee, but if you dont ask for it, they wont offer it.

I’ve been standing in line for at least ten minutes with no end in sight while no one is checking out. The customers are having issues but most of us in line are just trying to purchase items to move. Not the truck. You could check us out while the guy has been on his phone...
