Avoid buying meat here. Many complaints abound. However, I do like some of the produce offerings, and some of their frozen and canned goods in a pinch and a few of the hot-food counter items are good. The store is kept relatively clean. I think this grocery store similar to the other store on E. Warren manages on the captive-audience factor! People that go there cannot go elsewhere. Id like to see more diverse options for their produce.

This is the closest food place to me, but I’m gonna have to start taking my business to Food Pride a bit further down the street or somewhere else. Too many times I find moldy food stocked on the shelves, to the point where I check everything I plan on buying. Ive purchased and taken moldy food home too many times now to continue giving my business to this place. I mean really, is no one checking this stuff? I have yet to find a white onion with no mold at this place.

Hands-down the worst grocery store in the area. Everything is overpriced, the staff is rude, they do not update their policies and everything changes every week. This place is garbage.

They have everything you need, but its really overpriced. You might as well go to Whole Foods.

Good with some caveats. For the most shopping is a decent experience until you get to the cashiers. Either they have an attitude, or they are inept or a combination of both. With some good cashiers this store could be something special.

Store is clean, staff is courteous, BUT goods are so overpriced, it is overt GOUGING! Have never seen such outrageous prices anywhere... even during the past several months of this pandemic.So sad, since the store predominantly serves an elderly, college-age and low-income neighborhood.😔

The lunch meat was frozen with expired date dont want to open the machines for returning bottles and cans food is over priced the good thing they do give free coupons when you buy vegetables cashiers are very nice

Great community market. Always clean, well stocked, good selection and friendly customer service. Hot and cold deli serves great good. Highly recommend. Ive had the fish, ribs, chicken and pizza. All the side dishes are very tasty.

I love the atmosphere and quality of the products in this market. The people are friendly and its an easy commute from my home. In addition, I know the owners by name and they are always engaging. In my opinion...thats what makes it a family store. Especially, if you see something you desire not on the shelves...you can mention it and they may order it for you. I recently had them to purchase my favorite snack Pop Daddy popcorn. But, the pricing in this store doesnt allow me to shop in quantity. But, if you are shopping with foodstamps...you will find perks...

Carries a wide variety of foods, meat is not as fresh as it used to be and you have to shop here when they have their sales other wise it can be very expensive. The store is pretty decent and the customer service is good with the cashiers, manager and miscellaneous workers. They also have a deli inside which is popular in the area.

Its convenient, but the produce selection is limited and often past its prime. You can get many items for the same price or cheaper at Whole Foods.

Great place to shop, all kinds of food, theres a deli with hot food if you dont want to cook, and various types of deserts. I love their nut section, the Germack squash seeds is the best. The store is very clean and well kept, go and have a great shopping experience.

Amazing place to eat near Wayne state university it has everything from pizzia to chicken to comfort food. They have unlimited options on food and it is very affordable and the staff is amazing and always have a smile on

For a supermarket it is good. It has a wide variety of food and cooking/cleaning supplies, especially after the renovation it had a year or 2 ago. They have expanded their multiethic food section (which is pretty extensive now) and provide towards the back some of the proper cooking pans needed such as woks, etc. Its convenient if you live in the area but for some items you pay for that convenience. Its alright but it does have some good upsides such as having a UPS package delivery locker and a coin counter. It also has a counter where you can purchase pizza and shwarmas on the go. The stuffed pizza is a personal favorite of mine. Its perfect if you are a student/professor/teacher and need something really fast.

Be aware of the frozen foods the dates are not expired but the all the frozen items I bought looked old like its expired or the freezers went out and they kept the defrosted foods. Also sales arent honored on the last day of the sale. The cashiers are very nice though.

A store where you can get your grocery shopping done and a hot dinner for the family. Whether its pizza, shawarmas, fried chicken its all delicious and dont forget about desert. Their banana pudding I swear is like my grandma is in the back making a batch. Theres always a sale so expect great prices when you come to shop. And talk about service with a smile its like youre family when youre here.

The place is clean. The meats fresh and their prices not bad. The employees are polite.

Overpriced. Not a big selection like a Kroger. This store closes earlier than other stores. It closes at 7p, even on busy weekends. Overall, disappointing.

University Foods Supermarket near Wayne State University stadium and main campus is a small supermarket but got a huge variety of products even larger than large chain supermarts, in some items like cheeses or beers. I recommend it for everyday shopping. One downside. They dont bake fresh bread in the pizza place they have. They should improve that. Otherwise is perfect.

University foods has a nice vegetarian selection of foods.The owner, Norm, is very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. And Steve, is an excellent leader AND team member. Thankfully, this store has been an important and caring business in the Wayne State area for decades. Thanks for your continued loyalty to our city!

I have been going to this place since I was a little girl. It has always been one of my favorite places to go. They have such a variety and unique items as well. Their prices are pretty good for an independent market that doesnt have any other stores. They are always evolving, changing with the times.

Good selection for the size of this store but, not perfect. The other day I went to University Foods and a guy at the door was turning people away telling them face masks were mandatory due to a Governors order. People wasted trips to shop there. After researching, I couldnt find any governor order saying that. I went to a couple of nearby markets and no one was being turned away for not having a mask. Same goes for Meijer. University Foods lost my business that day, and maybe permanently. There are other places close by that are just as good. They should not take their customers for granted!

I love going on picnics. And with such tasty selections that have fresh fruit. Good meats to grill up while on the go. And they have a hour foods spot for quick bits!

I called the store and asked them If they had a certain item at the store, the gentlemen assured me, that the item was there. Fast af. Anyways, I went there after the phone call and the item wasn’t there and no body could give me explanation. Whoever it was, didn’t even bother to look and see if the item was actually there. Total waste of time. 😡

They take meat left on shelves by customers, and put the room temperature meat right back in the cooler. They use injections (only on the top) to make rotten meat look fresh. Stay away from the todays special or you might end up in the ER.

Doesnt look like a lot but the produce is great. The fresh cut fruit is really good. Its got a pretty good variety of stuff for a store its size as well.

I like it because its a clean full service market near wanye state university. Nice people work there. Prices are good. They have lottery, cooked food which is awesome. Nice parking.

Its a super market mostly for the student of Wayne state university. Its in walking distance from the university and also has food court. Price is little bit high compared to Walmart, but if you consider the close vicinity to the university then its worth. Subway is besides it. It has a parking facility and pet bottles and cans recycling facility.

I grew up in the Wayne State area, and I have tons of memories of going here to get pizza and other delicious foods from the deli. I went today and the pizza taste exactly the same ! So good.

This is my neighborhood grocery store. Customer sevice is great. I love the fresh produce which includes an array organic products. Good meat deals. The store is always clean and stocked. Not as affordable as Aldis but they make up for it in smiles and helpfulness.

Located in a small Plaza. Pretty regular grocery store, really close to the WSU campus. They do run bi weekly ads so you can save some money during your visit. The deli on the side is also pretty good and cheap.

This place is right next to where I live but my roommates and I go out of our way to avoid it. The food expires quickly. Employees are extremely unprofessional and rude. If you can overlook this, they do have some decent Michigan beer. Not a huge selection but it does the job if you forgot to pick up beer elsewhere.

You will find Cheap and good quality foods available. Promotional offers are really good. One drawback which i found was few items gets expired soon.

Food was Seasoned well. Not many lunch options (4-5). Not during the summer anyway.

The prices here are rather high, so look for sales. The meat and fresh fruit veggie/fruit section are reasonably priced, for the most part. But for nearly everything else, I suggest skipping this place and go to Kroger or Meijer.

I havent gone much farther in the market, but its really beautiful. I wish I could divulge more, but all I did was use the Coinstar to make a change slip so to purchase a bottle of Orange Fanta. And I already had other coins not being pennies. Everything was good. I think Ill return there, for there is a Flagstar Bank to the west therein.Like I said, its just beautiful, so Ill check it out even farther, to see what else they have.
