First time there. The place was super chill. Perfect sprinkling of people throughout the shop, with a mix of people studying and others hanging out conversating. The entire scene reminded me of a trendy coffee shop from name a current tv show. It was all, very, picture-ess.The mocha I ordered tasted fantastic and was delivered to me at a perfect temperature. Overall their menu was on the smaller side but I imagine they perfect the free items they server.

The best coffee house in Midtown. Great vibe in-house with cool music playing, cozy seating, free WiFi, and of course, great coffee drinks. Also sells vinyl records with a listening room to check out some of the great albums in stock. Customers can also buy whole bean bagged coffee (get it ground while you relax in the shop), coffee shop swag and products by other local artists. They have nice little patio seating area outside in spring, summer months and also have Open Mic nights every Friday around 6:30 pm. Can hear some interesting local talent, and see works of art on display by local artists. A community - oriented local business with friendly staff.

I love this place so much. They have spice hot chocolate like no other. The atmosphere is also so welcoming and inclusive. Baristas are always so nice and kind. Great place to do some studying. Also, they have board games and stuff so brining your friends is an awesome idea. Defiantly recommend.

A really nice local spot, welcoming and cozy. Emphasis on cozy, tables and seating are limited. Reasonable prices, quality coffee, good service. Also quite involved in the local community, so it can be a great placed to meet Civic minded people.

This review is not critiquing the space or the vibe although those were both just fine. This is a review of their absolutely Stellar espresso production and methods. I only ever drink straight shots with a touch of coffee, which means if people arent doing it right or putting care into what theyre doing I notice. This was the best cup Ive had since I left the Portland area. This is one of the best two coffee shops we have in the whole metro area. Staff was extremely warm and friendly as well.

Funky and righteous, a mere three steps down from the Third Street Sidewalk, I left a suspended coffee for you. Any kind soul can for two dollars, recorded on a chalk board by the counter. A lot of homeless get a cuppa this way, so close to the rescue mission on Cass. Open to all means open to those without means to pay, thanks to suspended coffees. For fun, drink your coffee outdoors in a narrow outdoor cafe between buildings. Spin vinyl, borrow a book or game from the patio set aside for sharing. The bottom line could use some help. Flapper on the toilet has worn and thus, the tank doesnt fill and water goes down the drain. A set of planters began as a nice idea but has gone to weeds. I should have pulled the weeds. Maybe Ill go back tomorrow. The Bottom Line is the community takes care of the Bottom Line.

I love this little place. It feels like a secret lair. The coffee is definitely not amazing and the prices are high, but I just love the feel of the place so much that Im still giving it 4 stars. If the coffee were improved, this would be the best coffee shop on campus.

The atmosphere here was very homey. Like it was hip without trying too hard. Its also owned by a person in the LGBTQI Community which I love as a lesbian. The only reason Im not giving it five stars was because the coffee tasted gross because I think it was an old pot.

So I had really high hopes for this place especially since the line is always crazy when Im in the parking lot. I got a regular size taro with honey boba and even thought he boba was perfection as well as the sweetness level there were bits of grittiness at the bottom. Not a deal breaker but Ill probably try other boba options in the area before coming back a second time. I came back the following week for a tea and it makes up for the taro.

Past: The coffee is a nice place to meet up with friends, and that’s where it earns its 4 stars. Very laidback, informal atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and chill. Staff is ok.The made to order coffees however have kind of fallen since I’ve been visiting it. They state they can’t make a non-dairy cappuccino, and when other coffee shops that do are brought up it’s said that those are amazing coffee spots. Even then, their espresso drinks are either too weak or just not well done.I would recommend stopping by for the community, but stick to a French press or drip coffee.Update: this place has really changed they don’t really have alternative milk options, and the staff outside of the core owners has become a bit apathetic. I’ve noticed there’s been some changes so hopefully it gets better. Stick to straight coffee and teas.

I usually come when there is an open mic or performance. The atmosphere is nice and casual. The coffee and teas are great. My favorite orders have been the hibiscus tea and Chai latte. Their teas are great because they use loose leaves and put them in tea bags as opposed to prestored teas, that are typically crushed remains and not flavorful. Their hibiscus is literally the dried whole hibiscus flower.

What a great little coffee shop in a hidden basement of a small building. The best thing about this place is that the staff is not pretentious, unlike a few other places in the city... and they also have suspended coffee where you can buy a coffee for some future patron who cant afford one. The only downside to this place is that it can get a bit crowded and stuffy on open mic nights.

Ive been a few times and maybe Ive had bad luck, but the lattes were as tasteless as Bigbys. The place is cozy but the people are creepy. I really wanted to like this small, neighborhood business, but I prefer my coffee without gender fluid.

If you like smug progressive privileged degenerates who take this neighborhood for granted and have no idea what it was like to grow up in cass corridor when it was a forgotten cess pool of poverty, then you have come to the right place. I grew up here, had brothers die here and now its full of well to do progressive identity lacking white kids screaming about muh privileges as they live in 1500 dollar a month lofts listening to hipster music.

I visited this place late on a Sunday. About 45 mins before closing time (9.00 PM).The coffee was OK. They had limited options on the menu. I had a Chai Latte with an espresso shot. It was a bit too sweet for my taste overpowering the flavour of the coffee. They had beautiful art by local artists for sale along with a collection of old Vinyl discs. The decor is artsy and fresh . The shop is LGBTQ friendly.PS: When they close the shop they play music to let the customers know that its time to leave. They blared it up to full high volume which ruined our groups experience here. Just the music alone would have been a great way to let us know it was time to leave.

Tucked beneath an apartment building - dont miss it when driving by. Semi-depressed neighborhood like almost all of Detroit with lots of parking. A couple of couches, two bars with a total of 8 or so seats, one long table, a little sunroom with 2 easy chairs -- very odd collection of seating. Old rock (Prince at the moment) on the audio. Several outlets. Wi-fi with posted password. Local art on walls. Small collection of loose leaf teas. Small collection of mediocre pastries. Pay it forward coffee with quite a lot stockpiled. The barrista asked if I was a musician, and said I looked like one. I almost gave it five stars for that.
