Was here several years ago on a vacation trip and was pushed into buying a guitar I didn’t particularly want. Attempted to come back and return the item but was refused and the staff were extremely rude to a young kid who simply wanted his money back. Now I live in Colorado I’ve told everyone I know to stay away. And now with the ability to leave internet reviews it’s funny how it’s gone full circle. I’m sure they have a great selection and it’s not the store itself, just the blatant way they took advantage of a young kid and cared more about the quick sale than anything else. Hate to see what they’re like in a pandemic!

Ive purchased two guitars from this store. This shop has been my first experience interacting with a pawn shop owner that possesses a sense of integrity. I purchased a guitar and asked to purchase new strings as well, and was informed that the guitar had already received new strings and didnt need new ones- to the potential loss of profits for them. I bought the strings anyways. If you are not familiar or comfortable with these types of shops, I would recommend going here.

I have been coming here for 5 years, and the service and guitar tech are the best in town. These guys always work with me weather Im getting a loan or picking up a new guitar. I have purchased all kinds of things here from my wifes drum-set & engagement ring, to a few different amps, and about half a dozen guitars - even my banjo! These guys know SO much about good music and exemplary service, and I always have great success in finding what I need here. I recommend this store to any musician that wants to support good people! Wonderful shop right smack-dab in the middle of downtown. And the staff were very punctual, polite, and knowledgeable. They were able to fix my guitar that I brought in and they even found other things that were wrong with it and now it sounds great. I think this is going to be the only music shop I go to from now on because their selection is awesome. Thanks again guys!

They’re not willing to make deals. They were asking $250 For a Brice bass guitar with beat up frets, gouges out of the back, duct tape over the battery cover and with without any conversation rudely interrupt me stating “it’s priced accordingly” I have a reverb.com account that says otherwise and gear I’m willing to trade. The fact they’re trying to sell a plywood upright for over $2200 says something about their knowledge.

I have been to the shop several times to buy instruments, have them set up, and to pick up strings and cables etc. Everytime I go in, regardless of reason, I am treated well and leave with exactly what I want. The instruments are always in great shape, the staff that is knowledgeable and helpful, and the inventory diverse and fascinating. I definitely intend to continue to frequent the store.

Wedgles helped me with a loan on some of my most precious instruments. I had a 3-4 month gap between paychecks..I did a loan on my didgeridoo and my tongue drum. All the employees Ive dealt with are fantastic. I got a good deal, they never made me feel lower for coming to a pawn shop..everyone had empathy. Thanks again Wedgles crew!

This is an awesome place you never know what you will find here , beautiful vintage guitars can be pricy but I have purchased several guitars from the 70s here for under 200 bucks, so many times I’ve lost everything and needed a cheap but great sounding guitar to perform I have found one here , I have also loaned guitars here for a very fair buy back price, I recommend checking them out for mandolins , guitars, bass , or even orchestra instruments (cello, viola, violin). Thanks wedgles

The kind of tall white guy that chills in the back with a bald head is the rudest guy I’ve ever met carries a gun on his side and ask like he’s tough just because he has a gun. he’s completely rude. the only one in there worth talking to is the old guy with the long blonde hair. I’ve been in the store multiple times they have beautiful gear but that dude makes me not want to shop there .

I bought a trombone for my son for 6th grade, the quality was excellent for the price and everyone was very helpful. I also had my daughter with special needs and limited accessibility, they accommodated our needs in a compassionate and mature manner. I was very happy with the service and happy to recommend this establishment.

Neat music shop...went in to buy an orchestra instrument for my beginner child. The guys there were very helpful and gave me a deal on a pre-owned instrument. Its in the heart of Denver, conveniently located on Broadway. They tuned it up for me and I was on my way. This place is the best kept secret in musical instruments.

ONLY SELL HERE AS A LAST RESORT. Called in to ask about the types of offers they make for a fender Stratocaster and the guy on the phone told me well make fair offers. So I bothered to pack up all my stuff and take it down there and the guy offered to buy the guitar for $120 (I knew this guitar was well worth and could easily be sold for over $300), he offered $160 after I said I was going to take it down the street and when I said no he then said alright, dont tell them you came from here though. After that experience it was clear to me I was better off on my own. I took a few pictures and posted it on craigslist and four days later sold it for $350.

I came in to buy a guitar I saw they had on Craigslist, never visited the shop before... I was impressed with the selection of music gear, considering this is a pawn shop. They have a few musicians that work there, one of them works on the guitars for sale. The store offers basic guitar maintenance as well. I plan on stopping by periodically to see what they have.

Wedgles rocks! I have always been treated with respect here and I return the favor. They know the value of things and a lot of people attach their feelings to an undesirable guitar or vintage/antique violin. Its worth what its worth folks in the real world. No matter how special YOU think it is. I have bought instruments here for 30 years and will continue to do so. Dont be an idiot, and you wont get treated like one. Kind of the same way the world works everywhere else.

I came in today to sell a violin. The owners are complete imbeciles, completely rude and totally ignorant of or feigning ignorance of the value of various violins. They offered absolutely nothing for my 2000$ antique violin which is a high quality antique, and has been played professionally. They didnt even know how to research the value on it and exhibited completely abhorrent customer service. I would never return and recommend to anyone not to waste your time with this abysmal shop. This is a truly low quality business.

Terrible price quoting done by a rude human being. I went in to price out an instrument and was greeted by two respectful people. The man pricing my instrument didnt even grant me the respect of looking at me while I tried to negotiate a price. I will NOT be recommending this place for future customers. It takes such little effort to treat someone like a person, nevermind the bogus quote I received.

Loads of kickass vintage guitars. I bought two there and absolutely love both (1992 American Fender Strat & 1972 Harmony Rocket). Youll have to deal with the mess and the workers hassling you to buy something, but keep in mind, it is a pawn shop. If it bothers you that much go buy a guitar with no soul from Guitar Center and leave the old ones with character to folks like me.

I think of this place everytime i have a instrument to sell unfortunately every time i go here i leave let down with the rudeness of the unprofessional arrogant long hair with glasses dweeb behind counter. He cuts people off doesnt answer questions walks away like he doesnt have time. He doesnt realize that i am just trying to save instruments from getting tossed and i am willing to donate today was a yamaha yp40 electric keyboard in excellent condition and he wouldnt even let me plug in to test and hear it b4 telling me its not for them end of conversation. What about someone else that is starting or broke? Nope get out . A true musician would appreciate the piece and a true human would appreciate what i do. Guess this is going back to dumpster. What a shame. Not the 1st time this has hAppened here the 6th time and definatly the last. I will tell everyone not to waste time or $ at this business until rude boy is gone .

When I want to drop several hundred dollars on my kids to have a variety of instruments, I cannot do it here. The staff found it more amusing to scold me over my kids, who touched nothing and were on their best behavior, then to let me browse their selection of rarer and certainly overpriced instruments. Why cant these employees review their approach and be, I dont know, FRIENDLY? I came to spend money, not be made to feel unwelcome because my kids are present. Over 17 years in Denver, and I walk away from this place angry and empty handed every time. It just hasnt changed for the better. This is a boys club type of pawn shop, not to be taken seriously. I was not taken seriously or treated with any respect here.

I was in today 9/12/12.As usual they were a bit busy, but said hi, and I wandered around.I try to vist Wedgles any time Im in Denver, and Ive always been treated with respect, had questions answered and everyone was friendly.I am sure, given their location, that they get the dregs of society in there on a far too frequent basis, and if youve ever worked in retail you know how difficult it can be dealing with the regular public, let alone those down on their luck.I think these guys do a good job in a small space with difficult customers at times. They are knowledgable, but I doubt any of them know everything about everything!I dont know about the bad comments other than that when a customer has a problem he will usually tell ten people, but when everything goes well, no one is the wiser. If in doubt, stop in for perhaps the best selection of GOOD used guitars and instruments in Denver. While there today I saw 5 or 6 Fender Telecasters, a number of Gibson acoustics, a carved top or two, etc. Also some inexpensive lap steels (try to find a lap in a pawn shop!) and a few good quality tube amps.Give these guys a shot, and ignore the whiners!

I visit pawn shops all over, you never know what you might find. These guys are terrible. The store is a dump. Crowded, dirty and smells like a moldy locker room. They have a wall of guitars, all hanging behind a display case, and with tiny price tags hanging on them, that you can barely see, let alone read.I tried to look at one of the SGs, and some guy came at a run, I cant let you back there! Sir, I cant let you back there! OK, so even though theres nothing to say it, you cant go back there. Heres a thought, instead of acting like a jackass, why not try to find out WHY I was going back there. No, that would make sense and be good customer service. He didnt offer to get me a price on anything or ask if I had any questions.Needless to say, I walked straight past him and out the door. This shop and ones like it are why Guitar Center is as big as it is. There are thousands of used guitars out there for sale, and theres no reaseon to waste your time in this rathole.

I have been going to Wedgles for 4 years. As a guitar player I purchase all of my strings here- All guitar string are buy 1 get 1 free and you can mix and match. I also play in various bands- They have tons of used guitars, drums, keys, mics, etc- They are always willing to negotiate. I also let Wedgles work on all my gear including- changing out pickups in my telecaster- setting nut and bridge on my Gibson j-45. Although I have never purchased a guitar from Wedgles there selection of used Gibsons is incredible. Highly recommend - Thanks Grampa, Jeff and the rest of the Gang!
