This is the best Ace in their portfolio.Visiting this hardware store is an experience all to itself. Without having to look at an App on their cellphone,, every employee knows the inventory. Greeted when you arrive, thanked when you leave.Good Job!

About what I expected. I found what I was looking for. I wish the staff would have been a little more engaging. I suppose it was Labor Day and I wouldn’t have wanted to be working either. Still it met my needs.

Friendly folks, always stop in when I need help with a household project. Anything from hardware, paint, grills, propane and outdoor furniture in the basement.

Helpful and friendly. Almost always has what Im looking for and can get smaller amounts of items than at big box stores, i.e. screws and other fasteners in bins.

Always very helpful when you need it. The prices are as always a little higher but the service and knowledge is unbeatable.

I was in this store tonight for some paint.Three brand I wanted was not available, however,Ralph was super helpful in getting headed in the right direction with the color I wanted in a comparable brand. I am a happy customer and will shop again at this location. Thank you Ralph

4/16/21. We came there to get butane refilled. The sales guy that refilled the tank was very rude. Acted like he was federal employee. Said, the tank was expired. Said it very loud. This riled us up. He could have used a bit of common sense. An used better customer service edicate.

Friendly staff, pointed me to what I needed and then we shared a few laughs and I was on my way to the job site with what I needed.

Stopped in to ask if they had an item. we might or we might not. Thats a direct quote and the entirety of my experience. I guess the Helpful Hardware Folks are off on Wednesdays.

I came in around 7:20 p.m. on 7/19 to get a quart of Ben Moore Hale Navy. Cherry Creek Ace had tinted my original quart but they were out of the 4x base needed for a dark paint. When I got to the store I made sure they had the right mixing base which they did. I waited for several minutes at the paint counter before asking an associate named Donna for help. She was not friendly but did call someone. A man by the name of GB or JB came to help. He came off as ‘put out’ that he had to help me. He asked what I needed and I told him. He said he needed to know what I was painting and I told him a built in bookshelf. He started arguing that the base wasn’t right and they didn’t have it. He acted as if I had zero clue what I needed. He was arguing about needing the right sheen. I showed him the picture of my previous can and he then said he was an Electician and wasn’t a paint mixer. He was mad when the right base was available and I was correct that it was in stock. I said I just need a quart to finish my project. He continued to argue and treat me rudely while commenting that he was an Electician and I should come back another day. I told him I wanted the paint to finish my project tonight. He said I was going to have to wait a day. I asked if he could just please mix the paint and he asked why couldn’t I wait a day. This went on and on. Then I asked for someone else to mix it and he said the manager left early and there is no one else to mix the paint. I mentioned it would be helpful to put up a sign to indicate the paint counter is closed for custom orders. GB or JB continued to be rude and another customer witnessed part of it and was bothered at how he was treating me. GB or JB eventually walked away without saying anything. It was unusual, strange, and disturbing. I saw Donna in the aisle and told her the situation, she was uninterested and said there was no one there to mix paint. It would have been helpful if she would have told me that in the beginning when I asked her for help with mixing paint. I would have saved 20-25 minutes of my time and being treated poorly. I clarified that there was no one to help and she said she was going to double check with Ralph the manager. Ralph came to the front of the store to talk and also came off as uninterested in helping. He told me I needed to come back in the morning to have Jeff, the master mixer tint my paint because they had no one to mix paint. I get that things happen but no one needed to treat me this way. I simply came in for paint. I did tell Ralph that GB or JB didn’t need to be a jerk to me and he said he’d relay it to the manager. I’m sure he won’t because he is the manger and they all seemed to enable each other’s actions. Hands down Cherry Creek Ace is night and day from this store. They are so friendly from the moment you walk in. They greet you, have lots of people to help, and would never treat their guests the way I was treated at University Hills Ace. I plan on contacting Ben Moore directly to let them know about this. I’m still in disbelief at how poorly I was treated over just wanting to get paint. I have shopped this store many times as I live close but probably not again anytime soon.

First time and last time at this location. Staff very unfriendly. I needed spray from the locked display, the guy acted like i was bothering him. Even the cashier was bothered.. I love Ace and will stick with the one I go too where they are friendly and helpful to me.

Not the biggest store in the world but they tend to have what Im after. Always friendly and helpful staff, too.

The last several times Ive been here Ive had to ask questions from this one particular employee. Each time he has been in a foul mood. Just rotten. Ive seen him snap at other customers. Today I asked about a product where he told me to read the box, as if I hadnt already read it. Earlier trips he was just as unhelpful.

Had my online order ready to go! Just what I neefed and way less money than Amazon.

I went in after work, Im a diesel mechanic so covered in grease and diesel went straight to the tool set I needed and the staff started asking each other if they should call security. I looked for what I needed and asked a few questions the staff was uninformed and more concerned about following me to the register than helping me find what I needed. As a paying loyal ace customer I shouldnt have to feel like a criminal for trying to find what I needed. Ill never shop this store again. And hey if youre going to accuse me of something Im not doing I may as well do it.

Overpriced for nearly everything, and coupons would make them competitive but they have too much fine print making them a bait and switch. I might be okay paying a little extra since they’re more “local” than the big box stores, but even the customer service (mainly checkout staff) seems bitter and rude, as if they hate their jobs. I’d rather drive farther and fight the crowd at Home Depot...it’s still a better experience.

Tried to buy a lightbulb and they charged me over twice the price that was shown on the shelf ($19 for ONE light bulb). No effort to check, just gave me attitude about not wanting to buy it and having to reverse the transaction at the register.

I had to get a chainsaw chain and ended up going first to Home Depot because they said theyd have it with 24 hours. When it didnt show two days later and there was nobody to talk to about the status, I canceled the order and called Ace Hardware at University Hills. They had it in stock. I talked to Scottie and Shauna, and they asked all the right questions, so came over and picked up the chain. Another time I waited in line at Batteries and Bulbs for 10 minutes before I left and went to Ace Hardware. As I walked in the door a gentleman asked how he could help. He took me right to the bulbs I needed, and I was in and out of the store in like six minutes. The fact that they have knowledgeable, friendly people ready to help you make s huge difference - to me anyway. I saw some of the bad reviews, and have to say that COVID-19 has changed how we all operate, and at times it has been difficult, but Ive been going to Ace Hardware U Hills for years, and their friendly, knowledgeable team is one of the best around when you need to get the job done.

Prompt, really helpful staff. If one staff member couldnt answer my question, they quickly found another who could. When they werent sure about the compatibility of a packaged bit with a drill I was considering, they opened the bit packaging, carefully, and tried it out. Fit like a charm. Very nice, very competent staff!

There is an HO model train setup of a city in the basement of this store. Im not exaggerating when I say that some man spent a lifetime building this city and layout. I have never seen so much detail or multiple features or quantity of scenes to look at. Quality work throughout. Some kits were used but much was hand made. Any 2 square feet have more features than other whole layouts that I have seen. Im not much into train sets but this is phenomenal and worth a trip to see. Also, they sell candy at ACE hardware stores.

Rude employees. Didnt get what I needed, which is fine, but they could have been nice about it. I went to Batteries and Bulbs right next door and they were beyond nice and accommodating.

Great store and friendly staff. Im addition to the wide selection of hardware,tools, and paint upstairs, theres a huge model train set up downstairs and a nice selection of home decor and patio furniture. In the spring they have very healthy plants at reasonable prices just outside the back door.

Its diametrically opposed to a visit to Home Depot. Nearly every time I need something fixed, I can walk in and out of Ace in 5 minutes with exactly the part I need. Any extra pennies I spend is made up for in piece of mind, excellent service, and confidence I dont have to make a second trip!

Wouldn’t take a return that I had purchased in the store and returned with the packaging and my account number. Lazy customer service.

Friendly and helpful staff, I cant believe they actually had a pressure canner in stock, and for $10 less than the MSRP. And did I mention the manufacturer is out of stock on the same canner until November, at the earliest?! Its a tiny, tucked away location in an old plaza, but dont sleep on them if youre not finding what you need!

This place has all sorts of specialty nuts/bolts etc. that Home Depot or Lowes dont carry. Everything is easy to find and nicely labeled. The staff that I spoke with were knowledgeable about what they carried as well as where to find it. I wish they had a location closer to me.

The person who made my keys was nice and followed safety protocols. However at checkout a worker crossed paths with me and I said 6 ft. she reamed me , I asked for a manager who did not help but told me to order online. How can you get keys made on line? Everyone wore masks, but I was shaking when I left due to the rude treatment.

Ive been to this ace dozens of times and I have only encountered helpful staff. I work on a lot of one off projects. I look online to get an idea of the steps and what can go wrong but nothing compares to talking to a person that has completed a similar project. I dont ever have to run around looking for a staff member and they also dont hover over me while Im browsing. The only possible downside is its a smaller store so they sometimes dont have the part I need. They quickly direct me to another local business and we move on. I couldnt ask for more.5 stars without hesitation.

I was at Ace today on a busy Sunday, in the peak of Covid 19. I found it very concerning that only 1, of many employees were wearing a mask. Almost every customer had a mask on, while trying to stay 6 feet away from other customers. When I voiced my concerns to the manager, he told me no one is going to tell me to wear a mask. And that there is no proof that masks help prevent the spread of disease. This is no time for selfish ignorance.

Hands down the best ACE hardware staff Ive ever experienced. Super friendly and helpful. Even if they dont have the answer off the top of their heads they find someone who does. Thats really good customer service.

This is a very handy place to get most smaller items. So much easier to find things and the clerks are easy to find and super knowledgeable. More expensive than the big box stores but way easier and quicker.

Have been shopping here since like 1984, always helpful and knowledgeable. Customer service is A+.

Check out folks can be slightly curmudgeon-ly. But its kinda endearing. Super helpful staff on the floor. They always have what Im looking for. Oh and dont forget to check out the basement! Tons of great stuff down there. Plus way easier to get in and out of quickly (aka not H.D. or Lowes). Tons of parking. Yes!

Overall I had a great experience. I went in to look for a few items and I found one of the items immediately. I had trouble finding a couple of the other items. As I went to look for the item, I eventually ran into another worker there who went above and beyond and completely out of his way to help me find exactly what I was looking for and even made the whole situation a lot easier. His customer service skills are through the roof.

Good basic hardware store. Staff is usually friendly and helpful but sometimes hit or miss.

This store has a great location and potential for business. That being said, the staff is mostly long time and unmotivated. The pricing is not just slightly but way higher than other options close by. I am all about supporting a small local business and I have had some good experiences at this store. The biggest turn off and final straw were when I rushed over on a very cold night when my furnace blew a fuse. I pulled up 2 minutes before closing and they locked the door in my face and a young man gave me the cut throat sign and turned his back on me to walk away. I then watched the staff gather in front of the door to chat for the next few minutes. I would have been in and out and happy in two minutes. I will do my best to steer everyone I know clear of this bad service going forward... disappointing!

Its more convenient than going into one of the big box stores. I go here for small items (if I need a couple a few bolts, nuts, screws, etc...) The staff is friendly enough but doesnt really have expertise to answer questions. They are typically a lot more expensive than the bigger store with the orange sign 10 minutes to the north.

This Ace is awesome! So superior to Home Depot or Lowes. You never have to search someone out to help you. Everyone is friendly and helpful with plenty of advice and tips, they dont let you leave unless you have everything you need (nails, the right tools). There is some limited inventory but thats rarely an issue.

Toshi in the front was quite pleasant. The guy who answered the phone and filled my propane tank was rude. They do not charge by the pound by propane at this location just a bulk charge of 27.99 for a 30lb tank. I paid way more than usual and they don’t use the punch card system that other locations use. DO NOT REFILL YOUR PROPANE HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE RUDE PEOPLE AND WASTING MONEY.

I agree with the previous comment on being superior to Home Depot, by far one of the best hardware stores I’ve been to in the area. The yound man Jacob helped me find what I needed quickly and everyone else I spoke with was friendly and helpful. Customer service goes a long way, so does a fully stocked store, so I will be bringing my business here in the future.

Good selection of standard home improvement supplies and tools. They also carry krylon paint and Irwin Hanson products. This is my go-to spot for any type of fastener. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you find whatever you’re looking for.

Ive typically had really good experiences here, but at around 4:30 today I was helped by a tall older man who was really irritated and was very rude when I was asking about getting a key made. After he told me he couldnt help me, he walked off insulting me because I wasnt aware that the 2005 work vehicle I was just assigned has a chip key. I guess you need to be a keymaster to visit this shop otherwise you will be insulted. I think its really inappropriate to walk off complaining about customers when they are right there and can hear you.

Great location. In somewhat of a dead zone for lowes and home depot so perfect for quick local runs. You pay some more for the premium of local, but their staff is very helpful.

Our local ace is always well stocked and staffed and I would give it 5 stars except for 2 things. I only give it 3 stars because you need a wheelbarrow of money to purchase anything and with todays diys they close at 6 pm on a Saturday in the summer, thats ridiculous.

Friendly staff and decent hours

This place is way more than you would expect from a hardware store. In addition to the usual hardware items, you will find a fully stocked garden area out back, and downstairs you will find patio furniture, pet items, and an enormous model electric railway! The employees are friendly and the popcorn is free. Drop in just to check out the train.

I should always ask the staff before I start going rogue on projects because they always point me in the right direction! Friendly, organized and local. Love it!
