I thought I knew how cool this place would be. I thought its going to be a big record store, how exciting! It took us a year after moving to Denver to visit because they always had covid restrictions in place and we didnt want to wait or struggle to park. (Not their fault, love that they are safe.) Finally got to visit the other day and we only had 45 minutes before closing but I cant wait to go back. I could spend days there. They have new and classic vinyl, rare finds, books and merch about music, and even a really awesome movie room with tons of great finds in it! Staff was helpful, prices are fair.

Picked up my special order Billy Strings Revival vinyl! Couldnt have been simpler & have to go back soon to really peruse the store.Great nostalgic old school music store in Denver with that great ambience & feel to it. Go see em!

This place is far-out. Love their selection of Dance records, and their displays are absolutely groovy. The stock changes pretty regularly, so check back often.Their staff knows turntables, too, so if you need consulting on parts or sound-system setup guidance, theyre your people. Way kind, too.

GREAT place. Tons of variety not only with their extensive collection of vinyl and CDs, but also with their clothing, movies, books, and novelty items as well. Price is fair, and occasionally, mind-blowing when it comes to gently-used merchandise. Customer service is also most excellent. KILLER spot. Highly recommend.

If you like recorded music this is an incredible, must visit place. The prices were great and an outstanding selection. I went one day and had to go back again when on a vacation to Denver. If youve ever visited Amoeba Music in San Francisco its comparable to that. Great selection of CDs and vinyl.

Made a short trip to Denver recently and was so glad my friend took me to Twist & Shout! On top of the great vinyl selection, the collection of music paraphernalia and decor was amazing. Just got into vinyl in the past few years and this has been my favorite shop to visit so far.Also not mad about the fact that we found one of Taylor Swifts limited autographed CD copies of Evermore here...

Just one of the best spots in town period. The music knowledge & seasoned ordering staff is always on point, the ownership is honest, friendly, and took chances to support our local music & arts scene. I do miss both sides of Alameda, but its heart is still in the right place. This is easily an important and worthy local business. Something for everyone.Get in there!

Great store and selection for vinyl, very pleasant and helpful staff. I recently brought in some records to sell, they were quite helpful, offering me a fair price for my old records. Definitely give them a try. Added bonus...theyre also right next to an awesome book store, so win-win.

I spent a week vacationing in Denver and Twist and Shout was one of the absolute highlights of my trip. How fortunate you are to have a store like this. I absolutely love Twist & Shout!!! Im living in Mississippi now, but I was born and raised in Denver. Every time my husband and I come back for a visit, we have to go shop at this record store for new and beloved vinyl. They never fail to have interesting items for sale. We can spend hours in this store if it wasnt for the fact that wed go broke from buying everything we want and more!

I had been wanting to check out Twist & Shout for a few months, finally had the opportunity today. Modern retail environment, nicely done, but then the back morphs into an honest to God record store. One with a huge, competitively priced new and used inventory; and the cleanest used and pre-owned LP selection Ive seen in my time scouring record stores in the metro area. I found a few that Id been looking for, and quite a few more that I couldnt leave without.Friendly and helpful staff, new & return customer incentives all made a very positive impression on me. Great job T&S, Ill be back!

If you are a music lover this is a must visit! Spent hours pursuing through the Vinyl, and they have a vast selection of CDs also. Very cool atmosphere! Be sure to use the parking garage in the back if street parking is full.

If you enjoy music this place is a must stop. Locals or foreigners can spend hours in here, as I have since the late 90’s at their old location. I miss that shop but the new one is a serious upgrade and suits the business well.Extensive selection with competitive prices considering the brick and mortar expenses I’m sure they have in downtown Denver.As nice as it is to sit on your rump and have things delivered to your door, the record store experience is still almost intoxicating. Try it.I don’t get to buy as much these days but I enjoy supporting a local business like this as much as possible.Staff has always been very helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t talk to them as much any more but they are always happy to help when I do.They are also doing their diligence to be a part of the Covid solution and not the problem. Thanks as always!

This place is a super fun store for most fans of all gernes. Music, movies, & collectibles. Not forgetting to mention if you need vinyl records this is the spot. Their inventory is Costco massive!! I enjoy this store every time I go.

I lived in Denver for 15 years. This is the one and only place you should buy a cd.

Very knowledgeable and professional. They had everything I was looking for, and much much more of course. I was quite surprised that they actually had one of the records I was looking for in stock. A couple of other places I called hadnt even heard of the artist. My order was ready when I went to pick it up later in the same day. Nice friendly place with plenty of music and more to choose from and by the looks of it something for any and every musical taste. I found on street parking at 5pm but there is also a parking structure just behind the building from Columbine St. I dont know if it costs $ to park in it because I got the spot on the street.

I recently bought a pair of Edifier speakers from the store because I thought my current speakers had blown out. Turns out my turntable has a busted preamp and needs a new needle so I came in to return them. Opening the speakers in the first place was a nightmare with plastic and tape on everything so I did my best to re package it. Literally every piece of plastic was in the box when I returned it and the speakers were fully functional and had been plugged in for no more than minutes at my house when I realized the speakers weren’t the issue. Upon returning, the manager opens the box and says to me “if you opened this new, would this be OK to YOU?” In the tone you would use to scold a child. I felt extremely disrespected especially after I sold a few hundred cds and vinyl to the shop for store credit to the store. I could have take 220 in cash for them but instead I chose 280 in store credit so I could support the business I care about, that I have been a customer at for 15+ years. I would literally drive from Greeley on the weekends to visit the store growing up. Obviously returns aren’t ideal, but the money is literally going back on store credit so the money stays at Twist and Shout either way and the product I returned is fully functional and fine. I probably wouldn’t keep supporting, but again, I have store credit so I will keep supporting Twist and Shout.

Love this location! They do enforce masks and will put a cap on the amount of people in the store so keep that in mind! They have a HUGE collection, it was almost overwhelming!Love the staff, theyre so friendly and so helpful, they helped me look up some records for a friend and even said you could order for pick up in store.They have CDs, Records, even some pop figures and sell t-shirts! Definitely check it out if youre a music fan!

The twist and shout staff is so sweet and they recently did an event with waterparks and were super accommodating when i was going to end up being late even though i managed to make it on time!! will definitely return in the future!!

Ive had success ordering out of print music C.Ds and have even got lucky finding L.Ps that have been out of print 4 over 30 years.

Place was loaded with records, cds, movies, toys, and all sorts of pop culture references.Prices were decent and the aisles were narrow but brimming. There are some cool listening stations set up too that can be used. Workers seemed pretty disinterested in us unless approached but they likely get a lot of looky-loos plus we were there on a random weekday afternoon.

I have been a customer since I was in high school, and will never purchase anything from Twist and Shout again or mourn when it disappears. At Christmas a purchased an album for my nephew. Turns out he already owned. I called the store and the promised to take the return and refund the purchase, even though that was not normal policy. Great I thought; they live up to their mantra of service, selection, ambiance. When I arrived at the store, it was a different story, they did not want to refund the purchase they wanted to give a store credit. The pushed the we are a local store, covid has made times hard, please take a credit, dont worry we will keep track of of and wont disappear ever. Well, April rolls around and there is no credit to be found. I feel lied to and stolen from.

This is a great record store, one of the best Ive ever visited, and I am sixty, so you know I was around during the golden age of record stores. I remember bigger places like Peaches Records, Tower Records, Sound Warehouse, Independent Records. There were some great smaller places, too, like Jerrys Record Exchange, Jazz Record Revival, and Recycle Records. There are still a few great record stores these days - well, at least Denver still has Wax Trax, and a few others that are maybe not so great. Regardless, Twist & Shout is the best of em all, and always has been. I constantly come across rare and strange items there. Odd cds from Japan or Europe, old vinyl in mint condition... I appreciate the depth of their stock, and enjoy their section for local musicians, too. Their holiday section is fun to peruse every year. The occasional live sets performed in-store are always memorable - well, at least the ones Ive seen. What a cool store!

5 out of the 6 used records that I listened to were dirty, like gravel or rock particles on them. Prices are still too high on the good vinyl. People are helpful. I dont recommend the grab bags.

As a Denver native, I used to frequent this place back when they were off East Alameda. Such a great record store with an awesome and varied selection and nice staff. I’ve also found rare movies in their DVD section. They offer curbside pickup now during the pandemic and their service continues to be top-notch.

Large selection of vinyl, knowledgeable staff and a great vibe/energy. Parking is a breeze since they have a free parking garage. The only issue I have is that they are overpriced which limits me from shopping there more often.

Been coming here for a few years now and love it! There are a lot of cool people working here and a great selection of CDs. I can’t tell you how many new and great bands I have gotten into because I randomly found their albums here.

Selection has become a little lack luster over the years for certain genres like punk and metal, but overall very cool store with great staff.

This is probably the best record store I’ve ever seen. The size alone is astounding, but the selection of music, gifts, memorabilia, shirts, lunchboxes, etc. are enough to occupy your time and wallet for way longer than you would have imagined possible. I’ve never seen anything that could compare with this place, what a joy to have been able to visit here.

The store is great and am always pleased with their selection of records. The prices are high, but I understand it’s Denver proper. Also the staff aren’t too friendly. I’ve been their multiple times and have only had one upbeat encounter with an employee.

Love this place... it was weird that they asked for my wife to keep the breast milk out of the store. So we didnt buy anything that day.

Wasnt able to get Bryan Trujillo music so staff was very helpful in finding alternative music and gave information on how to get the c.d didnt leave without informing and more c.ds they have awesome memories

Audiophiles unite! If youre wanting to thumb through millions of used vinyls looking for the hidden gem or trying to get an old classic in new condition - this is the place. Fun stuff like mystery record/cd/dvd packs wrapped in brown paper are pretty cool too. In non pandemic times, the listening stations are a great way to melt away from the real world for a minute, but they also always have a well curated selection playing for all to enjoy. One of the gems, if not THE gem of Colfax.

You could literally browse for the better part of a day and need to come back another time to finish thumbing through everything. Lots of new and used vinyl with some very interesting discoveries. Whatever genre of music or video youre into, youll probably find what youre looking for - and more - at Twist & Shout Records.

This is more than a record store. I picked up a really great Bob Dylan t-shirt for $10 along with the cds I prchased. The staff here is awesome. They are very knowledgeable about music and movies. They are also the nicest people I have met in a long time.
