We adore this market! And we are thankful that the kind folks at Christkindlmarket kept us safe and followed all of the rules last year. Year 2020 was brutal for all of us. Looking forward to more fun this year!

We discovered the market a few years back and have made it an annual tradition. Wonderful handmade crafts, great eats, and live music. They are doing a great job keeping everything safe in the pandemic and still keep things accessable. 20 years and counting!

Line was way too long. We went at 6:30 and had to wait 1 1/2 hours because they were letting in too few people at a time. The shops were slightly disappointing as they didn’t have as much stuff. The only good thing was the food.

While they are taking safety precautions, there were long lines for no reason. It’s also in a different place than last year and hard to find the entrance. And there are 0 places to get coffee. It was anticlimactic.

Wonderful Christmas fun! Make sure to have cash for some booths and bundle up. It is warm inside but pretty crowded.

Cool stop along 16th St in downtown Denver. A little German venue with little shops filled with chocolates, drinks, schnitzel, beer, clothes, toys, and various other crafts. A cute walk through with an indoor picnic eating area with live music.

My family and I went on a Wednesday afternoon, got in line around 3:30 and waited maybe 20 minutes. Obviously weekends and nights have longer lines so we avoided that. We loved the market! Had amazing German food, hot wine and dessert crepes. Got some great gifts and ornaments. While standing in line isnt fun, its nice to get a table to eat at inside and to be able to see everything at the booths. We thought they did a great job safely hosting this event. Its the only Christkindlmarket that took place this year that I know of, and my mom and I go to one every year. We were very happy to go this year, and safely!

My compliant is this; Why dont they have their Covid policy published on the website? I wondered how they were handling things and thought since it is an outdoor event maybe they didnt have to push more than the social distancing, mask wearing and ckeaning but they also are limiting the number of people allowed in and that translated into a 2+ hour wait standing in line! Thats a long time when its only 40° something degrees. On top of that you have to wait in another line once you get inside to go from one side of the market to the other. It would be nice to know ahead of time so you could bundle up extra warm. We went thinking wed be in and out while the sun was still out but by the time we made it through to the inside it was dark within a half hour and really got cold. Dont get me wrong I appreciate the safety measures but I just think they should give you some warning on their website and figured out a ticketing or sign up system so you didnt have to wait in a line forever. No bathrooms anywhere near to utilize either. This market is always enjoyable with all the various treats and items for sale but this year not so much. The poor vendors that were there had no business. (I hope their booth rental fees were waived). More people could of easily been let in and a different way of handling things for entrance. We ended up high tailing it out of there without spending money I usually would have spent because wed stood around too long and hadnt planned for an evening outing.

We’ve been going to this for the past few years and have always enjoyed it. This year, we went Sunday morning and arrived at about 11:15. After an almost 2 hour wait, there were still over 60 people in line in front of us. We left and were very disappointed. We always do our final shopping there and anticipate the food for a month ahead of time. I wish we had the luxury of visiting during the week and lots of people suggest showing up early but I’m not sure how more people showing up earlier helps. An online reservation system is not difficult and would have been a much better crowd management solution. Not sure I like the location either. It’s not a great place art of the city.

On a positive note I must say that the booths were cool with great food and drinks. Interesting artisan-made things. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because a women working for the event spoke to me and a friend in an extremely aggressive tone simply for having a mask down while eating a food, while standing. I realize all the Covid stuff is a liability, and they must ask for others to keep the mask up. Heres the thing though, if thats a concern, maybe there should be a concern for holding the event in a dirty park where, while waiting, there are homeless people in the grass openly doing drugs and acting strung out. That park had trash and what looked like human waste well call it, saw it on the way out on the edge towards one of the main streets.

Really upset at the employees and security for not doing their jobs. We went through the line, waited, did the QR code they asked us to do, went in, walked around, bought some alcoholic drinks. We were a group of 3, all over the age of 21 (26-29). Never once were we asked for our ID or given any sort of wrist band. A security guard asked us for our wrist band, and we didn’t get one, so he said he saw one of us sneak in. Although we came together as a group! We walked back to the entrance and they said they would give us a wrist band but security said no, we’re leaving. He outcasted one of us because she had the mug. I had alcohol in a coffee cup and wasn’t told anything. So they were selling alcohol without any ID OR wrist bands at the entrance or booths. We paid the price for others not doing their jobs. I was never aware of needing wrist bands. It was such an embarrassing experience.

Waited for hours to get in but never did, finally gave up because the line was barely moving. When I read that they were moving to civic center park this year I figured it was in response to covid to allow more space to spread out the vendors and allow compliance with social distancing between patrons. That is not at all the case. They have all the booths lined up one little strip with huge lines trickling people in from either side. I understand that there is a pandemic and events will be altered to accommodate this fact, but this is a less than ideal solution to meet these restrictions, especially with what could have been done instead.

Looked cool from a distance but after waiting 3 hours in line, I had to leave because my expensive pay-per-hour parking was about to expire. A lottery system would be nice but I understand everything is tough due to the pandemic. I look forward to trying again in 2021.

Went on Friday afternoon. What genius decided it was a good idea to put this in Civic Center Park, downtown Denver’s homeless haven??? Had to navigate a gauntlet of homeless beggars to find the entrance. DID NOT FEEL SAFE. At the entrance, we had to complete an online Covid-related form for contact tracing before we could enter. Not impressed with the vendors. Should have stayed home and watched a Christmas movie instead.

We waited for 30 minutes, the line never moved. By the time we decided to leave all other restaurants in the area were closed. So depressing. A fitting end to this terrible year. The sad thing was there were people smashed together in the line and a security guard yelling at us to spread apart but inside the market it was dead. A lucky few get to go. Don’t waste your time.

Lines are 2 hours long for no reason. Should be a smarter way to do this. The city should have cleared the homeless out of the park for this Public event since the lines are so long. Not worth the wait.

DO NOT GO HERE their entry system is horrible they definitely could be letting in more people but don’t so the line won’t move at all so be prepared to wait at least an hour in the cold not to mention it’s in an area where there are many homeless people and it feels very unsafeThe markets are nice but they are not worth it for the waitIf you do want to come go right when it opens I don’t think you’ll have much a wait then

Spent 2 hours and 40 minutes in line that they kept closing down , while the line on the other side of the market kept letting everyone in , and though the nice kids in our line were polite they were told they could not contact he person who is supposed to be managing the flow. There were very few booths and was not even worth the drive through Denver much less the line to get in , I do not recommend.

Long waits and no communication to customers waiting. The management of letting people in is inconsistent. Consistently see families leave but they don’t allow more people in. They should have done a ticket lottery system to save people from wasting time. I understand there’s a pandemic but the coordination is terrible and a frustrating experience. Not worth it.

Disappointed. I really wish Id known to read these reviews in advance. The area this market is being held in is sketchy and my two-year old son and I were accosted by a strange man who would not leave us alone about 1/2 block away. Then, we got in line and got to hang out next to a man holding up a crude political sign to passers-by and ranting about all sorts of things. The final straw was when one of the organizers came by yelling at everyone to back up due to social distancing (note: we were social distancing where we were in line but that was soon not to be as everyone ahead of us started pushing back). And the organizer was not wearing his mask as he yelled this. Thirty minutes of all this was enough and we left.

FYI there are two lines. Covid restrictions have caused an extensive wait time.. If you are in the west side entrance, itll be about a two hour wait if you are at the street, 3 hours if you are at the light. Wouldve been ideal to have an estimate ahead of time.

Two years ago they ran out of mugs by Christmas. They seem to have fixed that problem, but this year they were out of the traditional wine glühwein. They had apple glühwein, which we still enjoyed. The atmosphere is great, and both times we went this year they had live music.

Fun place to go with your significant other during the holidays. The food is great, we had a couple dishes from several vendors (lots of German food, thinks sausages, potatoes, fries and cheese). There were also a lot of vendors selling knick knacks, ornaments, and CBD products. We found parking really close to the market too. There was also a tent with live polka music and plenty of seating. Everything was great, if just a bit expensive in my opinion, but with free entry it’s worth a stroll through even without buying anything! I’ll be back next year.
