Ordered a jacket from their website to be shipped to Ohio. Within 24 hours of the ordered, received a call from the store confirming I made the order and asking if they should tell the shipping company to get a signature. The jacket is exactly what I ordered and for Patagonia was quite cheap. I am very impressed by this companys service and prices - will definitely visit next time in in Denver!

This is hands down the best outdoor store in Denver with staff that is friendly, and more knowledgeable than you would find in other shops. As an avid rock climber I like knowing that the people selling me the gear are also experts at using it and WildyX employs the experts. There’s also always a great selection of gear every time I stop in.

I was in earlier today with my son to exchange some climbing shoes. The gal (Im sorry, I dont remember her name.) that helped us over the weekend was so kind and knowledgeable. My son found a pair of shoes and out we went. He spent some time wearing the shoes around the house over the next couple of days and decided he needed a different size. We went back today and Bradley spent soooooo much time with us trying to find the perfect fit. Alas, we we didnt find a pair, but I am so grateful for Bradleys patience and kindness to me, my son, and our dog. We will definitely be back! Great customer service all around. Thank you!

WEU defines what an outdoor outfitter is about. The staff are keenly interested in ensuring customers have what they need for their adventures. Example: I tried on a backpack having done extensive research beforehand. Not only did multiple staffers comment on the fit, but also recommended packs they didnt stock. No up sell, no over sell just to move stock. They are genuinely interested in getting people set for the best outside gear that works. For certain they do not carry the large selection of REI. What they do have is a selection of new gear that they know intimately, and used gear that outshines what can be had at chain stores. The smaller selection is more than made up by the knowledge the staff has from their own experiences.I highly recommend visiting here before you hit REI or other larger stores. It is now my go to for gear!

Ive shopped here for over 20 years. Its a Denver mainstay and godsend for local climbers. Good prices, decent quality, helpful and friendly staff. I love the music the play. I just wish theyd get their windows cleaned; the whole place kinda feels dirty because of that. And they could expand their book section and include more bouldering guides.

We all should know at this point that Wilderness Exchange has phenomenal deals on high end outdoor gear used and new. This five star review in particular is for their Ski services. Not more than an hour later I received a call saying my skis were done, AN HOUR!!! That is absolutely unheard of, Joe is a ski tech wizard.I would 100% recommend their ski shop. Thanks again JOE!

Be prepared to pay for parking, either at a meter or a pay to park lot near by.Inconsistent customer service, it can be hit or miss if you have good service, but I feel like that can be the case anywhere.Overall: Worth checking out if youre trying to get a decent deal on some used outdoor gear.

The store has a bunch of used consignment clothing as well as professional samples for outdoor sports. They have a really wide selection from children’s all the way up to extra large and I always look here first before buying any outdoor gear from another outlet. This place is great. They have a lot of gear for just about anything outdoors. It feels a bit more like a climbing / camping supplier. But they do have a decent amount of other sports equipment. Go downstairs to their consignment area, and you will be able to find equipment in great condition for a fraction of what you would pay a brand new. REI is right next door, and Im sure that place is great, but I would highly recommend checking this store out first before you go spend hundreds of dollars on brand new brand name equipment.

Listen, I love my REI dividend just as much as everyone else. However, I dont love big companies that offer lower prices at the sacrifice of customer service and who knows what else further on down that product chain. The people at wilderness have always been helpful and kind. When I ask a question that someone doesnt know, they ask someone else who does. I think to some extent the mantra fake it until you make it has its reasonable applications. I hate it when I see employees trying to fake their way through an explanation when recommending gear that they dont know about. Ive seen it elsewhere, but Ive never seen it at wilderness exchange. Quite the opposite.Their prices are actually in line with what you will find online for the most part. Consider spending an extra dollar or two on $150 climbing shoes here, knowing that you are providing support for a long time Denver mainstay to keep hanging around and in turn providing for its employees with the passion and knowledge to keep you educated and get you into your sweet new gear.
