Great indie shop that knows bikes! Owner Dimitri is personally involved, professional, and thinks outside the box. Important when dealing with old bikes that a number of other shops said no, we wont touch it, but here, buy a new bike. My beloved vintage Schwinns got excellent care! Will definitely return!

I showed up because I was having issues with my hydraulic disc brakes. Melissa was super helpful and even let me borrow a bleed bucket to get the air out of the system. It was exactly what I needed and they helped me out for free! Its awesome to have such a nice bike shop in my neighborhood. Ill definitely be coming back here regularly

I was there for 45 mins and had dozens of questions for Melissa. Every single one of them was answered patiently and warmly, even with a crowded store. No gate keepy or disgruntled bike mechanics in sight (a usual dynamic I find in shops). I felt really seen and listened to and they are stoked to be building me a bike!

Two stars for being friendly and nice, but we are very disappointed in our experience. We got a flat tire while biking on vacation. My wife found this shop and saw it had all these great reviews so we stopped in. They patched it and we were on our way. We set the bike in the yard at the airbnb and went out for the night. The next morning the tire is flat again. We hadnt ridden the bike at all. We decided to go back and give them the chance to make it right. We took an hour of our time to drive back over, have them fix it, and then drive back to the airbnb. We set the bike in the yard again and went out to do something else. When we got home the tire was flat again. They should have just provided a new tube and installed it. I would have been happy to pay for it. We didnt want to come back a third time so we went to a different shop where they installed a new tube quickly with no issue. We have been riding the bike all morning and its fixed. We wasted money and a lot of time going back and forth to Z Cycle and ultimately had to spend additional time and money somewhere else. Very frustrating and we cant recommend coming here. The owner and staff were very nice but nice dont pay the bills. We thought about coming back a third time to see if they could make it right but lost confidence after two bad experiences so we had to go elsewhere. Maybe we just had a bad experience and this a rarity but we couldnt recommend coming here in good faith.

Fantastic experience here! I was having issues with the front brake and had several other shops take a look. The guy had me bring my bike in and in about 10 minutes had it riding smoothly. I will definitely be coming back if I have any future issues!

Dimitri is THE MAN and all the staff care about your whip and getting you ripping on the trails. Busted tires? Fixo friendo. Brake upgrade? No drag sister. Fork rebuilds? Safe, bruv. I take my hard tail there for maintenance and they’re happy to sort me out (and not pretentious like some other shops). Friendly prices too. Stoked they’re getting a bigger shop— need the space to accommodate all my friends!

This shop is the. absolute. best. bicycle repair shop in CapHill/Metro Denver area (and they have pretty bikes for sale too, especially if you like vintage & used/upcycled stuff). They are affordably priced and work with you, dont push you to upsell, meet your needs. One time, I went to a bike shop other than Z Cycle Shop. I will NEVER make that mistake again. Frankie is AMAZING! I was having some trouble with the comfort of my seat. As a woman, I really appreciated being able to brainstorm the situation with her. It was hugely helpful to problem-solve with a fellow female. Not only was she extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful, but she did it all with a joyful spirit of service. Before coming into the shop, I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to continue cycling due to pain. I am blown away. This is hands down the best bike shop I have ever visited. If I were a different bike shop, I would send spies to this bike shop to try to figure out how they are so awesome.But its not that difficult to understand, really. They have amazing staff who care about your bike, they quote you honest prices and dont try to sell you parts and services you dont need, and they foster a welcoming environment and dont talk down to people who dont know as much as them. Its a simple formula, but in all of my years of biking and patronizing bike shops, I have never seen it executed so well.I took my trusty commuting/touring bike in for a much needed overhaul. I do basic maintenance/service myself, but after 8+ years, ~10,000 miles, and multiple loaded tours, it was time for a pro to give it some love. I had a broken chain ring that Dimitri replaced for free, and he gave me a high-quality, gently used cassette for a screaming deal (I believe they salvage parts from broken bikes, which helps reduce waste for the world and cost for their customers). Then, when he discovered that the reason that my rear wheel would not true was that my rim had warped, he ordered a new rim and rebuilt the wheel for a shockingly reasonable price.As an aside, I must also mention how cool it was that Dimitri invited me to come back to the shop to look at my wheel to explain what was happening. He put it on the truing stand, explained how the basics of wheel building and spoke tensioning, and hypothesized how my rim became warped. Im not sure if he was afraid that I would think he was selling me an unnecessary service, but I learned a lot and it was super cool of him to take the time.I was so pleased with the service that I brought my wifes bike in, too. I was 100% ready and willing to pay for the top-level tune up, but Dimitri inspected the bike and recommended the mid-level tune as all that was necessary.We have now had the chance to take a few rides, and they were beautiful. I dont think my bike has EVER ridden this beautifully. If you told me I was riding a brand new bike, I would have believed you without question.The people here (I mostly interacted with Dimitri and Frankie) love bikes, but not in the snobbish way that one so often encounters in other bike shops. They want to share their love with you and help you love bikes too.Only bring your bike here. Dont take it anywhere else. I would drive for hours to have these folks work on my bike.

I took in my wifes bike and my daughters bike for service, they took such great care of me. Everyone in the shop is amazing, which is nice, but you have to have mechanical skills to match and they do. Why would you take your bike to one of those big corporate shops when you could take it to an awesome local Shop full of rad people like this one?

Love this bike shop. Brought my bike in that needed a lot of work (handlebars, fork was bent, etc.) and was worried theyd tell me to just get a new one. Instead, they totally fixed it up and even put air in my tires and tightened up my pedals. One of the employees even gave me a ton of advice and help even though he wasnt the one working on my bike. All of the employees are so nice, helpful, and friendly. It was great to go somewhere where the employees werent pretentious at all and were really eager to help out anyone, regardless of skill. Prices were SUPER affordable. Without a doubt the best bike shop in Denver. Sending my friends to get their bikes fixed -- or buy a bike -- from here once this pandemic is over.

Honestly one of the best bike shop experiences I’ve had in over ten years.I walked in and they were clearly busy, but everyone was still so polite. The person at the front checking people in was very kind and directed me to a mechanic. I wish I caught the mechanic’s name because he made my day and is the reason I’m writing this review. He invited me back to watch him work. He explained everything he was doing, even telling me the names of the tools. He wasn’t condescending, even for a second.This will 100% become my regular spot to take my bike!

Had high expectations because of their great Google rating. They surpassed expectations! Brought in two bikes, one which needed significant upgrades and repairs. Everyone at Zs was professional and experts in their bike knowledge. Theyre quick and have very reasonable prices. Cannot recommend enough!!! Ill be using them again and again.

Z cycle is the real deal, all of the staff is extremely helpful and polite, they have a surprising amount of parts in stock, and they provide bicycle repairs/maintenance that is quick, reliable and affordable. I have been to several bike shops here in Colorado and Z cycle really stands out as the best. Down to earth honest humble they wanted 20 dollars for a seat post and a seat to replace the one that was stolen off my bike. I thought that was too cheap of a price I paid them 30. And it took the petite blond 7 minutes to find and attach. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Five flying stars

Im a casual cyclist who recently bought a used 2012 Scott Sub 10 bike - it uses a belt drive which is fairly uncommon. After only a few weeks, the rear sprocket busted leaving me without my only mode of transportation.I brought it into the shop and Dmitri immediately began inspecting. He quickly diagnosed the issue and provided me with a few options. I chose what was likely the most difficult option - trying to find an exact replacement for the now obsolete part.After several attempts, we were able to identify a part that might work - Dmitri joined me on a conference call with the manufacturer to make sure the specs all matched. He even volunteered to drive down to the shop in Centennial to pick it up.Once the part arrived, he installed and tested it, keeping me in the loop with his progress. Im grateful for the expertise, communication, and patience Dmitri and his team demonstrated to get my bike up and running again. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get their bike repaired. Oh, and from what Ive observed, they have a lot of great bikes for sale too.

Super chill environment with very knowledgeable staff. They host a monthly Fermentation workshop and provide cultures for Kombucha and like products. I got a tune up on my bike and picked it up later. The only bummer was they never called me when it was complete but they did a fantastic job on the tune and my bike works great! Would highly recommend to the Cap Hill neighborhood.

I bought a mountain bike from this store & was back several times for service they were great what really impressed me was I was looking for an inner tube for a hoverboard 10 inch wheel, not only did they have the size but they had the exact tube with the exact valve stem that was correct for that hoverboard!Demetri is so knowledgeable about anything with pedals &wheels its unbelievable . These guys are the best. Needed a very small piece (a recessed brake nut) and called to see if they carried it. They did, so I biked over there and they just tossed it to me and said just take it. No charge, and awesome service. Its places like this that we need more of in town. Im going to support them for years to come!!!

Im an everyday rider with a history of improbably busted parts, so I needed to find a good bike shop after moving here and getting some new wheels. Ive been to Z twice now for some moderate repairs and essential accessories. To me, a great community bike shop is a sacred place. My bike means a lot to me so I need a place where I can trust that the mechanics care about their work and clientele. I get that vibe from Z. After handing him no small task, Dmitri went out of his way to break down all the steps of my last repair as he took care of it right then and there. Needless to say Im now riding super smooth. The rest of the team and everyone else coming in and out was really friendly. Ill def be coming back soon. Thanks guys.

No one called to tell me they couldnt find my tube size. The woman told me on the phone to just bring in my bike, then she said they didnt have the size and would order it, then nothing ever again. I followed up eventually. The place is also very dirty; there are lots of people experiencing homelessness outside in immediate areas too.
