The alarm system works great but my internet provider changed my IP adress without me asking and Certified wanted to charge me 65 dollars just to talk me through getting my camera app back working.

Went in to ask for a simple install for my Home Theatre set up. The front desk lady, at least she had a little bit of spunk to try and find out about my question, which I appreciate her doing. The problem I had was as I waited for 20 mins for someone to get off the phone so he can speak with me. He finally got off the phone the front desk lady spoke to him and the response I got back from the lady was “Sorry, your not a customer of ours. Nothing we can do for you.”What exactly does that mean? How can I go up there to get a quote for work I need done to become a customer and instantly get denied without even speaking to the individual of what I’m needing. Why do y’all have a Home Theatre sign up front and don’t help new customers needs? Pretty bad that this is the face of the company, a lazy man who cannot speak to a potential customer. Great customer service.

My wife and I are VERY disappointed by the service from Certified Alarms. Within the last month, we had them install a new alarm system. Total cost was $1,905. This included 2 HD cameras. The installation went okay but the 2 young men that wired the home could have cared less about giving us good instructions on using the complicated system. Admittedly, we are elderly and we are not well versed on properly navigating the system. In the last few days, I heard an ad for Certified on our local talk radio station. They quoted a much cheaper installation cost, including the 2 HD cameras. The radio ad also quoted a monthly monitoring fee of $14.50. Our system however requires a $35.50 monitoring fee! We strongly feel that we were taken advantage of by this company. Therefore, today I am cancelling the monitoring of our system immediately. So, friends and neighbors if you are considering calling Certified Alarms I would strongly suggest that you steer clear of calling this company.Robert Louis McGrathWalker, LA

I have had Certified Alarm System for many years. The service has been excellent. I have had very few problems but when I did they were prompt to reply & come out to my house if necessary. I have the regular alarm system plus cameras, glass breakers, motion detectors &on my phone even when away from home so home on my phone.

We are extremely please with our New/Updated Security system and the service provided by Certified Alarms.We recently had our system inspected and updated and the Customer Service Representative, Mr. Donald--- was most helpful and informative about the system we had installed.Most importantly the Service Technician, Mr. Donnie ---was exceptionally skilled at installing the new system and help us to understand and be able to utilize the new system and the numerous updates.Certified Alarms is an outstanding company with very professional and knowledgeable personnel.Thanks for a job well done.Terry D.Louisiana

Beware of this company. Made me purchase allot of extra equipment I did not need. Installers were rookies and because of their poor installation they charged me extra money. Did not not follow good business practices when installing pre-wire alarm. Lied when they finished and made me pay the whole amount when it was actually a net 30. DO NOT TRUST THEM AND GET A 2ND OPINIION FROM ANOTHER COMPANY.....

We have had a security system with Certified for many years. That alone speaks volumes. I have found them to be efficient and responsive whenever we encountered problems with the system. Service techs that I have dealt with were always courteous, concerned and knowledgeable about what we were dealing with. I am presently looking to upgrade to a newer certified system.

We have been with Certified Alarms for 9 years. I love that they are local, take our alarms seriously, and are willing to come out should there be a problem. I appreciate them explaining the pros and cons of different options to me, allowing me to make the best decision based on our needs. I didnt feel like they were trying to sell me unneeded options just to make more money.

I wish I did not have to give this company 1 star. We moved out of state. Not only did the representatives or management NOT provide the information we requested about our lease, even when they said they would, they behaved unprofessionally with cavalier attitudes when we tried to make changes to emergency contact(s). Customer service is poor. BE WARNED - if you move, they will not work with you to to adjust your lease - EVEN IF YOU MOVE TO AN AREA WHERE THEY DO NOT EVEN OFFER THE SERVICE. They actually told us we have to find someone to assume the lease and did not assist as they assured us they would. They made no effort to help and seem not to have working agreements with other service providers to transfer leases. Good customer service starts with doing what you say you will do. The staff hired representing this company missed that lesson. I highly recommend you find a month-to-month service to monitor your home and certainly never lease anything from this company. If youre already stuck with this company and sell your home, I recommend trying to work the lease into your purchase agreement - save yourself some grief and from paying for something literally no one is using.

I’ve been with Certified since early 1998 and have contracted with them at every home I’ve owned. Within the last two years I’ve added cameras. Mike Staley always takes good care of my needs and makes sure the teams he sends do the same. Blake and the others in tech support are great too...they are patient and gladly walk me through any technical issues. Great company! I’ve also had Certified service my mother and my daughter’s home. I know there are other companies but so far I’ve never had to consider moving my business.

I pride myself on not being easily bamboozled but Certified Alarms finally succeeded. When the guy came to my house he gave me two options. One was to buy the alarm system and pay around $25.00 a month for service or pay for the system and service at $39.95 for three years with. Either way this indicated I would own the alarm system. What was actually signed was a three year lease. There is no way to break this contract a year early without paying for the full contract, they said they would sue me. Congratulations Certified Alarms, you finally got the take on me! Lesson learned at the cost of over $1,500.00. Im looking forward to February 2016 when I no longer have to see there system in my house.In addition to this issue when the two guys came to install the system they did not have all the parts they needed to install it so what should have taken an hour, took three. They also were very messy with the glue gun and Ive had to reattach the sensors myself many times. Lastly, after a year if something goes wrong with the equipment just know that you will have to pay $85.00 for them to tell you why their equipment isnt working.I know many people who have got systems for $10-$15 less a month than me and were pleased with the results. I would recommend looking into any company that isnt Certified Alarms.

Discontinuing my services with Certified has been nothing short of a nightmare. The customer service representative that I have been speaking with is extremely rude and has continuously badgered me for my reason for leaving, asking me extremely personal questions (such as if I was financially able to afford their service) even after I told her I did not wish to discuss my reasons for wanting to leave! When she finally emailed me a cancellation acknowledgement and asked me to sign it, I noticed that she had taken it upon herself to list my reason for canceling being due to financial hardship. I have never dealt with such a condescending customer service rep... and the entire ordeal has felt extremely demeaning. I will never recommend this company to anyone after what they have put me through.

I was going to give 2 stars b/c the monitoring service was as expected for 5 years but the customer service I received the past few months has been so bad this company doesnt even deserve 1. I had been with Certified for 5 years and realized earlier this year that I had been overcharged for a service I wasnt receiving since we moved 2 years ago. Long story short, the customer service I received when trying to lower my payment or fix the issue was horrible. No returned calls and every time I called they would tell me that they would return my call after pulling my file. When I told them I wanted to cancel they tried charging me for 2 more months of monitoring as a termination fee when I havent been under contract for 2 years. I was able to talk them out of the ridiculous fee but could not get a refund for at least the 4 months or so I tried to fix the problem or lower my bill. I do not recommend this company to anyone. The monitoring service was as good as expected but they failed miserablably in customer service with the one and only issue I had in 5 years. Im disgusted with the service I have received the past few months. And the bad thing is that it wasnt just one person that wouldnt return my call. It was at least 4-5 different people I talked to. Not one returned call until I asked to speak to a manager. Even then I had to wait until he returned from lunch and finally got a call 4 hours later. Im now with Custom Security and Im paying almost $10 less per month.

I bought an alarm system from Certified Alarm and paid them a monitoring fee for five years without a signed contract. Now they tell me the cell phone module is out of date and they can replace it for $200 or I can sign a service contract for monitoring. I told them I paid them for five years and if they want my business I will pay them another five years but I aint signing a contract. They refused the offer thus telling me my business is not important and suggesting they are greedy self absorbed pigs. I would highly recommend that anyone shopping for an alarm system seek all other options before settling on Certified Alarm and their greedy pig owners who do not care about their loyal customers who paid them for years.

I was with certified for 5 years, I decided to discontinue service, due to a job change. I paid them off and about a month later I was placed in collection for not paying the last bill. Well I paid the last bill, and i had to go through all kinds of changes to get that off of my credit. I would call customer service and would never receive a call back, finally I got someone at certified and they contacted the credit company and cleared my name. Now that we have had our house redone due to the Great Flood of Louisiana. I will not go back to certified.

Horrible customer service. Post flood it has taken 14 phone calls and 4 visits to try to get our system repaired. Theyve lost paperwork, not followed up on scheduling, quoted pricing higher than the original quote multiple times, and today during final install tried to charge for needed equipment changes because they did not check wiring when they came out and worked on wiring months ago. Working with them has been convoluted with too many changes and upsell/upcharge attempts. We are switching to use a different company.

I made a Google account just to be able to give a review to this company.First, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (theyre rude on the phone and will call you at least 3 times per week in regards to your alarm if you have a low battery).I made my first appointment with them to change the battery (they were 2 HOURS late). Whats worse is that when they finally did arrive, they didnt even bring the correct equipment. So they left (and that was it). The account clearly shows the type of battery I had (I had it confirmed via phone) but they still failed to bring a Simon battery anyway. They did not apologize, they did not try to accommodate (but they still called daily to notify me of a low battery signal).I booked a second appointment (NO SHOW).I booked a 3rd appointment and complained about the poor service (they were still going to charge 85 dollars for changing the battery anyway - they said their store is located in Denham Springs so thats why they charge that much). RIDICULOUS. Found out through another person in their service that they actually have a battery store close by where I could purchase the battery MYSELF for 10 dollars. The battery he described to me was INCORRECT. Waste of my time!4th appointment- I tell this entire story...they want to charge 112 dollars but they promise to show up (a man named Jeremy told me I could discuss getting a fee reduction through home office). Unfortunately for Certified Alarms, some people actually read the terms and conditions and it states very clear on the website (no reibursments after payment). Additionally the website says its an extra 5 dollars if you pay after the 25th of the month. WHAT?! Insane.I re-spoke to Jeremy (one of their service people) he says he can just leave me a bill. Then immediately takes the statement back and says I have to pay prior to service and he can actually just leave a receipt. Apparently those two terminologies are really hard for some people to be able to tell the difference from. Whatever.After that I decide to tell him dont worry about it, Im just cancelling with the company. I then receive another phone call and a text saying that he managed to speak with his boss and that theyll only charge me the battery cost (30 dollars). Wow, so now you accommodate?FINALLY, I decide to do my own research and have come across the actual battery from a local store - its only 15 dollars...additionally, replacing it isnt actually difficult.Id cancel my service with these guys in a heartbeat if I wasnt on a contract. Theyve been the WORST company Ive ever dealt with. If youre in the same boat- just look at the bottom of your battery plate and theres a model number. Get it, find a local store near you and Im sure theyll actually have the battery. Itll save you harassing phone calls, terrible service and about 97 dollars depending on your battery type.If you havent already signed up with this company- heres some advice: dont.
