Delicious treats, friendly staff, and a cute interior… they’re currently doing a Harry Potter takeover with some themed decor, treats, and butter beer. Definitely worth a stop in if you’re in the area, even worth a trip out of your way to go. I know I’ll be looking to go back again.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was all of the girlie vibes that I want in a place. It was clean and chic, and all things sweet 🍰 Honestly, cant wait to go back because they had soooo many delicious looking treats that I didnt get to try. Out of the ones we got this time, the cheesecake was definitely a favorite. But Id 100% get all of them again. And the LAVENDER LEMONADE 💜💜💜💜 it was soooo refreshing. My husband even liked the lemonade, which if youve read any of my reviews before he is known for how picky he can be.:I definitely recommend this place, and cant wait to go back. I mean the outside pink trees would bring me back alone. 🌸

We decided to stop here for dessert and latte, six of us. It is the cutest little french pastry shoppe with variety of coffee, lattes, tea. Many delicious pastries, moose, cheesecake, raspberry tart, filled croissants, torte, st. Julians apple carmel filled pastry, macaroons, etc.Inside and outside dining. Only desserts. No plastic silverware here, regular size tea cups and spoons. Love the cherry blossom trees. Friendly staff and very helpful, especially for my mom who is 88. Will be back.

Pastries are handmade and are Instagram worthy. Prices vary from 3.25 on up. If coming for HP, they have sorting hat macarons and butterbeer to name a few! Definitely will be back!

After my first time sitting inside, I have decided this is truly my last visit (for a plethora of reasons). I started patronizing this establishment when they first opened, because I thought it reflected a glimmer of promise mirroring my many tea parties at the Ritz. So many times I was over charged for simple trifles, and objects in the display case weren’t marked, so you couldn’t dispute the appalling bills. To buy pastries for a party of three (every time I came), my bill totaled around $55-$70. Then to arrive home to either spoiled or stale desserts, was a HUGE disappointment. I stopped patronizing them once I realized it was just so much more brilliant to bake my own desserts, suit to my own taste. However I didn’t come to them because I couldn’t bake, I came because everyone likes to take a break from slaving in a kitchen all day. It’s a part of human nature to desire to serve and be served (properly, and with respectful decorum). Staff were known for taking other people’s orders (who arrived after me) before mine. They were perpetually perplexed and lost. I finally came in to sit down, hoping to find the establishment changed, then to find things worse than the same. During a racial pandemic, I found myself baffled that my mother-daughter day ended with my mother feeling belittled and discriminated against. Consistency is key to a thriving businesses, as well are repeat customers. Tables were not bused or cleaned swiftly, per COVID mandates. We were not served at our table, but were rather expected to pick up our food from next to the garbage can. Our tea came in sachets, rather than the pot (of endless refills that was purchased). Then I looked around in disappointment as I viewed other women’s tables getting served by hand, with tea pots in tow. Every woman wants to feel special, and that we did not. My mother being one of the only visible patrons of colour, made me realize that things haven’t really changed at all here, and that the business is not inclusive. When the discrepancy was noted, empty excuses were made and my mother came away with six tea sachets in a to-go cup for her troubles. No I didn’t expect better compensation out of this business, that was (anyway) before I had witnessed them extend proper compensation to the disagreeable women shouting at the beginning of my trip. For her discontentment she was given four free drinks all adjusted to her liking, on the house. And then she had a full refund extended to her for her whole table’s desserts at the finality of the trip. In short, staff (whether temporary or not) are a reflection of the management, and will only perform to the standard they are held to. I didn’t come seeking free desserts, I just simply wanted my hardworking mother to feel special, and I am ASHAMED to say they rather made her feel both dehumanized and invisible.

I had a very pleasant experience here and found the one staff member and pastries all very delightful. It may be because I visited during a time when no other customers were present, but still, I felt appropriately serviced. The staff member, Gabrielle, was very knowledgeable and kind when answering all my questions! The pricing is comparable to other patisseries, especially considering that this shop’s aesthetic leans heavily into its Victorian visage. I ordered four pastries; the créme brûlée, the strawberry vanilla cheesecake, carrot cake, and a raspberry tart for a friend. I took them all to go and love the amount of care the wrapping was done with. The amount of pink throughout the store was great! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the store interior does look a bit different. I didn’t eat there, but would have liked to eat outdoors if it was set up. Overall, flavors are good, not too sweet! The carrot cake was my only disappointment, as it was sweeter and more dense of a sponge than I like. Overall, one would come here for the experience. Thank you to the amazing staff!

Gateaux Patisserie was a absolutely lovely. Once I saw that all the pastries were different shades of pink (one of my favorite colors but was not expecting that when I came in) and could focus on what the actual offerings were, I was in heaven. This bakery definitely had a high end feel with prices to match ($15 for 6 macaroons) but every thing was SO good but my favorite was the carrot cake. They even had raspberry/lemon infused water that was pink. The attention to detail of all aspects was well thought out and I cannot wait to go back and try something else.

We had a great variety of desserts at Gateaux Patisserie during Harry Potter week. There were many options to pick from, both themed as well as their usual selection. We loved the Slytherin Pistachio Paris-Brest with its potent pistachio filling and the smooth & rich Hagrid’s Hut Chocolate Tart. The Creme Brûlée was pretty good although it could use a bit more vanilla flavor. Butterbeer is a fun addition although it truly is like an icy slushee, not a watery drink. We can’t wait to try out their other offerings next time we visit!

Came here for Dearborn restaurant week. For $10 per person or $20 for the samplers and two pots of tea for 2 (which was what we got), this was a great deal with very delicious food and pastries. The smoked salmon sandwich particularly stood out to me because I generally hate smoke salmon, especially when they’re out in sandwiches; but here, that was actually my fave sandwich out of all the samplers, which should tell you how good their secret sauce was. Everything else was good too, from the super pink decors, to the atmosphere, to the cute tea sets, to the great tea. Definitely try this out when you’re around!

Love the food and atmosphere and I always stop by on my way to and from Metro Detroit Airport. BUT I cant 5 star due to 2 issues.1) The staff does seem to have CLEAR communication issues. I often have to repeat my order multiple times at the sevice counter to different staff members instead of once to a designated drink or designated pastry employee (service stations folks or write down each order on a ticket?) But the music may also be the issue because it is always very loud.2) The music is always very loud and it causes raised shouting from the servers. The loud volume also makes it very hard to have peaceful conversation with other customers over tea.I do like this place but these are two consistent problems over the past year. Maybe they will change as the continue to grow?

I really want to give this place 5 stars because of how cute and aesthetically pleasing it is, but dessert places are more than just appearance and presentation. When it comes to that, they deserve 10/5 stars, but the taste just isn’t there for me. Like at all. I usually never leave reviews, but I kept giving this place chance after chance again and kept coming back, but for the price and look of their products, it’s a shame they don’t taste any better than something I could buy at Costco. What really pushed me to leave this review was the birthday cake I got for my sister. It was absolutely STUNNING, but it tasted like paint...I wish I were exaggerating. I couldn’t even pretend to like it. No one took any home with them. Not one person even finished half a slice. I was so disappointed. And it was $80. Kroger would’ve done a better job honestly.Only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because I know someone is making a living off this place, and it’s local so I’d feel super bad leaving 1 star (I try not to be a mean person). But I mean, honestly, please, taste your products. Your customers should know what they’re paying for. Quite frankly, I don’t think I’ll ever want sweets from here again, even if they were free.
