I called to see if the had a very particular screw to repair a revolver. I stated that I wasnt sure if they had a gunsmith on site, but I was looking for a screw. He then told me he has 6 gunsmith on site but he doesnt sell parts, and then he hung up. I wasnt looking for parts, I was simply asking before If that was something he would have. I was ready to pay $40 to have them install a single screw. I guess they hate money.

This shop is accustomed to grumpy old men that want to talk about anything, rather than go home. The rest of us are subjected to full prices and slow, snooty service.Ive used them for odd smiting jobs and quick supplies over the last decade, but Im just fed up with the attitude. Wont be back.EDIT to address the response - A logical shop would know the difference between an ordinance and an order. The DC order doesnt apply to the shop and, even if it did, an exclusion clearly applies. There certainly isnt a $5,000 fine either. When gun people cant be relied upon to use common sense, were in trouble.Second, a logical shop would also wonder why an attorney that averages 7,000 rounds a month hasnt spent much at his establishment over the last decade. My review is directed at my collective experiences, rather than your personal convictions about masks.

I had no problem with any of my orders and the service was great. I would of given 5 stars but in the actual store, I wasnt greeted immediately. I wondered a while before anyone asked if I need help the first time. Thats just my personal opinion. I ordered my lower receiver here. No one was impolite and the young guy who helped me the second time was very polite and beyond helpful. With that said I did go back. The service store gentleman were great. Shout out to Chris for speedy service and making sure I was taken care of. Great store and I do recommend shopping here.

I am somewhat of a newbie to guns, having taken only one course on how to fire one. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and informative. Theyre well stocked and knowledgeable. Im also surprised by some of the previous reviews regarding discrimination, as I am a woman of color and saw many people of color coming in being treated right. I highly recommend this place.

What can I say about one of the oldest friends’ I have in Dallas...? His store represents all that is great about an independent dealer and so much more. Professional, experienced and very knowledgeable, his employees, are friendly, courteous and genuinely want to help you, the customers. You won’t find this at a Bass Pro or any other large box store dealer. If you are looking for a good gunsmith, they have one or two always on hand and available to help you with your firearm. Whether it is a custom trigger Job, advice about an accessory for your gun or mounting a scope on your rifle and bore sighting it for you, this gun deliver first class service and they are not arrogant about their knowledge. They want to earn your business with great service and follow through. I personally worked for over 30 years in the firearms business and this dealer is clearly in the top Ten of all the dealers, I have had the good fortune to know. Check MacClellands Gun Shop in Dallas, you won’t be disappointed.

The best gunsmiths in North Texas! I have an old Colt Woodsman and asked 1/2 dozen gunsmiths to work on it; no one would touch it with a 10 ft pole. Brought it to McClelland and the got it running like a Swiss watch. Will always bring my guns here for service!

Took my shotgun here after duck season for a cleaning. These guys gave me a reasonable estimate before checking the gun in and a reasonable timeframe (2 weeks).Needless to say the gun was ready before the estimated time and estimate was accurate. The gun was in great shape. No excess grease etc like from other places and is ready to goI was impressed and will be back

Sold me 9mm bullets for my SW 40. If it wasn’t for me trying to shoot my gun on new year I would have never known. Could have really gotten killed for a mistake like this. Gave me dangerously wrong advice. When I objected, they tried to blame it on me. They did not listen to my needs or follow my repair instructions. This was for a SIG P229. They directly blocked communication between myself (the customer) and their gunsmith. The result endangered both the lives of myself and my niece! Not good!

I arrived at 1230 pm with the goal of getting a new scope (with rings) that I had purchased new from a third party mounted on a hunting rifle. MGS charged $40 and I was out the door in 20 minutes. Folks were friendly and obviously experienced. I could not have received better service.

Super nice staff and large gun selection. Went to buy .223 ammo for deer season and was impressed overall by the store. Prices are little more, but youre supporting a local gun shop thats been around for 45 years (if I heard right). Go check it out, you will be impressed.

These guys are awesome. On two separate occasions they masterfully repaired rifles that many other supposed gunsmiths claimed were not repairable. They even rushed one repair to help with my personal time crunch. Chris was awesome! You can tell these guys love what they do and take pride in their work. I have and will continue to recommend McLelland Gun Shop to any and everyone who is in need of gun repair.

Awesome shop. The gunsmiths here do excellent work. I have brought them scopes to mount, stripped screws to remove, trigger pulls to improve, an antique autoloader that wouldnt cycle, and an antique safety that was broken. I will never take my guns anywhere else and I will never purchase a firearm anywhere else. If you need a smith you can trust to produce high quality work in all situations, this is where you need to go. This is my gun shop for life.

Online and found a Swede 6.5 x 55 sporterized carbine. Looked at gun to purchase and told could return gun for higher priced gun in future. Paid $500. 5 months later saw gun online and came back to trade in gun and pay difference. Given $100 offer to trade/sell. Another customer in store looking to buy a rifle heard me ask owner how a rifle i purchased from HIS store at $500 was now only worth $100. Became angry i asked in front of customer, he and daughter told me to leave store. If you want to buy and be treated this way by this family owned business that is your money to waste. Gun had been painted to hide rust on metal. Had gun completely taken apart and media blasted to get clean metal surface then ceracoated blue black. Spent $225 to make rifle right. Store is hidden away in decrept strip mall and hard to find they should be happy i took time and gas to get there.

I had a 1960s made Noble Deerfield 20 ga. slide action shotgun fixed and refinished throughout there. It took awhile to get the work finished but I am very pleased with the gunsmith and restoration man or men who brought my gun back to me as if through a time machine. It looks like it was just opened, brand new in the box, but here as it approaches its 50-somethingeth birthday in reality.

Called ahead to make sure they sold fishing license and when they confirmed I drove out to the shop. When I got there and was told the printer was out of ink and told unless you want an invisible license you should go to bass pro or Walmart. I called them back to let them know making customers drive out there for nothing was not a nice thing to do and was told get over it and was hung up on.What happened to manners? I understand to err is human but a simple apology we apologize for making you drive out here Sir is a practice that many businesses have forgotten. Why would I send my family here after an experience like that?

As the story goes...Im glad things work out the way they did, I did not make a gun purchase, but I happened across another gun store, not far away 75228, and came across a higher performing firearm for minimal increase $, plus it was in the caliber I wanted. Many guns to look at and hold and overall a better/more friendly visit. In closing, I walked away from this gun store Im reviewing with a wierd vibe that my business their wasnt all that important and me buying from them really wasnt needed. For a very small retailer in a kind of a hidden location to stay in business one would think that every sale would matter and therefor followup sales too, but what do I know. Owner, im assuming, didnt seem to care one bit when i walked away without spending any money with him. To each their own. The store has been there a long time from talking with man so Im sure you know what your are doing.
