Everyone I know who plays MTG unanimously agreed that I should go to Common Ground when I started actively playing last year. I picked up my first online order seamlessly and selling there is always a breeze. The staff is well versed and passionate about the games and it shows in the level of service, even with a noob like me. Special thanks to Violet for patiently evaluating 60 cards in two trade ins.

Its got a wide variety of games and friendly staff. These 2 things together would net a 5 star rating just because the store is also neatly organized. Thats why it has a 5 star rating... I wanted to give it 4 stars because I think that there should be some sort of a message board to help foster the local community more.

Rude. So what, you may say? Well, everything in a game store can be had cheaper online and the area of Dallas has plenty of brick and mortar competition if thats what you want, so why bother giving patronage to people who think so little of their customers?It sounds petty, and maybe one star is a little harsh, but local gaming shop is one of the last places that gets away with this kind of nonsense and it should stop.

Horrible experience at the Common Ground games have arrived here twice and Ive been denied to sell my cards due to the fact that misleading information. Not totally given all the information this is a horrible experience please note that it was guys or horrible customer service

My family are regulars at Common Ground. Between Magic the Gathering cards, Blood Bowl, dice, D&D, and even loner games for me, these guys are well stocked. They are also very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The owners have worked very hard to keep everyone supplied during the pandemic. Their value and service are the best Ive seen regardless of store type. A rare breed of folk

Ive been shopping at CGG since their first year in business. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and their selection is outstanding. It has been rewarding seeing the store grow in size and popularity, and I cant wait to see them move into the new corner location on the same shopping center later this year. No wonder they just won D Magazines best game store in Dallas award. They have truly created a Common Ground for all to come together for fun with friends and family.

This is specific for their Pokemon cards and customer service…They clearly have way too many people staffed who just sit around and appear to do nothing. And it’s crazy how you can have 6 people sitting there and not a single one of them try to help you when you’re standing at the counter waiting.And to get to their Pokemon cards… they clearly weigh their packs. They don’t even try to hide hit. At first I thought it was just bad luck but then I started to keep track of every pack I bought there. And compared it to other stores. I’ve been opening Pokemon for awhile now and if you have done this same, you know you can weigh your product to get a good idea if it’ll contain a hit. It’s crazy that after so many packs opened… this store has the lowest V or Vmax hit rate of any place I’ve bought Pokemon. And it’s not even close. I’d you’d like details I’d love to share. And to further confirm this, I weighed the packs after buying and you can clearly tell what they’re doing. It’s why they barely have any packs sold in the sleeves. They’re all loose.So don’t buy from here. If you want to play a different game or anything then maybe they’re ok. But stay away from here if you want to buy Pokemon. Just go to family dollar/dollar general and get base sword and shield o…rebel clash or battle skies. And you’ll get 5x the hits you’d get here. No joke.If you don’t believe me on this. At least look at how bad their customer service is. Look at the passive aggressive message to unhappy customers that they post. And look how many people hate the customer service.… ridiculous

Its places like this that make me happy! I was greeted on the phone and in-person by friendly staff. I had questions, they had answers. Sells All kinda card games, MtG, Pokemon etc, Board games of all kinds, D&D all sorts of stuff. Spent my paycheck and was thrilled to do so!!

Common Ground Games is amazing! I recently moved to the Dallas area from Utah where its very friendly to nerd culture and I thought my access to card shops would be more limited. How wrong I was!Their staff are fun and a pleasure to talk with (shout-out to Morgan and Liam!) Their selection of MTG and tabletops is quite robust and the shop has a very fun atmosphere.This is my third time here this week and Ill def keep coming back for morePosting on my recent visit. The staff is seriously the best. I had questions on a board game and they went out of their way to give me their honest feedback on it as well as just chat and talk about the things we enjoy in table top gaming. Common ground definitely has me hooked and Ill be coming back for a long time.Edit 9.14.21I have to apologize here for my frustration at growing prices in the MTG realm, and for taking it out on you guys. So please forgive me for that!Aside of that I want to say that CGG does indeed still have the best customer service around, even when Im the one having a bad day. I absolutely love this store! I try my best to pick up things locally if I can and when I do its 90% of the time at this location. The staff is great and super helpful. Theyre one of those weird places that actually ask if you need help and legitimately know the material. They also get some kickstarter games in, which is fantastic! Cant say enough about this store.

Routinely go here when buying MTG cards. They recently changed pick up order policy and it through a wrench in my original plans. But they were able to make the new way so convenient for me it presented no problem at all at pick up. It took extra special customer service and I am grateful for what it did for my schedule. Huge thank you to all the staff!

Excellent service and attention, they had the Sheriff of Nottingham board game Ive been looking for months. The store has a lot of board games options and collectibles, it was a great experience to be there.

Even though this place had a bunch of shelves, it felt super disorganized. They tried to make the store half of it Magic the Gathering and the other half for Dungeons & Dragons however this did not collaborate well. A good portion the store has Dungeons & Dragons figurines and books. However what was supposed to be the magic half was maybe a fraction of the store. There isnt anywhere to play against your friends, most of it is board games. It just wasnt a very appealing store to be honest

My favorite boardgame shop in DFW. Yes, even over Madness. The people here are so kind and helpful. I love their selection. They have so much in here and a lot of it is the harder to find games and expansions. It feels like all of the best games in one place. I come here first for all of my games. They have a whole area for playing if you want to meetup with friends. Come here!

This might be one of the greatest game stores I’ve been to in DFW. Their selection is wide to the point of overwhelming. Literally everything you could be looking for. Just as an example, there was an entire floor to ceiling alcove of just Star Wars games (armada, x-wing, imperial assault, legion, etc) with every expansion you can think of.The staff was incredibly knowledgeable (down to the mm size of certain card sleeves or the writer of a specific D&D campaign).There’s a wall of premium dice - and a glass case of great RPG dice sets.Oh, AND there is a 50% off table as well. Literally this shop could be a one-stop-shop for all your gaming needs.The only knock is currently it’s in a dumpy shopping center and the sign outside just says “Games.”But if that’s the only critique you can be sure the store is gonna be great. Check it out - and bring money. You’ll find what you’re looking for OR discover something new.

I’ve never felt more welcome, I’ve never had more fun, I’ve never learned more and would consider Common Ground Games me first destination when I’m in Dallas. A home away from home. I love everything about this place. And you won’t find a better small business anywhere. I could go on and on and on, but go check it out yourself. No exaggeration, this place changed my life.

Was very rudely treated with the man behind the counter on January 2nd 2021. Was waiting outside with my girlfriend and her daughter as the store was at its limit for people. Another man rudely went into the store and was allowed to stay in even though we were next in line. At which point the three of us went inside and we were asked to leave as they were at the limit. When asked why the other man was allowed to come in he said hes number 12. It made no difference to the man behind the counter that we have been waiting there and the other gentleman had not. I will not spend any money at this establishment because of this rude response by The Man behind the counter as well as one of its patrons.

Love this place. They are being super safe during the pandemic with limited customers allowed in store at a time as well as requiring masks and hand sanitizer on entry. Their singles cards can be searched and purchased online for pickup and they have a great selection of board games, ttrpg games and accessories, and cards protectors/boxes. This has become our favorite place to shop for our hobby stuff.

Was just here last this last weekend (06 FEB 20212) while on a weekend trip to Dallas. I LOVED IT!! The staff were enthusiastic and helpful, and genuinely seemed happy that we were there. I WISH I had a FLGS like this in my hometown. I grew up going to Nans in Houston, but I have to say that Common Grounds is now right at the same level in my mind. Loved, loved LOVED it! I will be stopping back by whenever Im in town. From Pokémon cards to indie RPGs, they had it ALL. More board games, dice, and miniatures than you can shake a stick at! A+++

Honestly the best board game shop in Dallas, as I think Ive been to most. The staff is phenomenal, and Jamison does a wonderful job at keeping experiences there personal. I think Ive been frequenting the shop for 5 years now and Ive never been disappointed. The gaming selection, both to play in the free room and the ones available to purchase, is a hefty updated collection. The MTG crowd is fantastic as well, a great way to meet new people in the area.

This place is awesome if you are looking for RPGs and strategy based games. My kid wanted to get some 40k stuff and we were both pretty in the dark but one of the guys was pretty helpful. The other guy did his best but I think he was new. In the end we got lots to start with and some paint and dice. Games workshop sets the price on a lot of the citadel stuff so if you do your looking online you know what you are getting into before you show up. There was so much more stuff there than I even saw online. I think it is well worth a visit. It was awesome

This store, and the community they have built over the years, may very well be what I miss most in this Covid world. I used to end up here 2-3 nights a week to play Magic or D&D because the other players are so nice and welcoming. CGG has cultivated this culture of mutual respect among players success since its founding. They remain worth taking my business even if I cant hang out there. Support your local brick and mortar game store! They are the heart of the gaming community.

Such an awesome store with superb customer service and a great selection of games. They also seem to have their finger on the pulse of the board gaming community (by attending cons, welcoming vendors/reps, etc.) which keeps their inventory fresh and their employees knowledgeable!

Gave me a hard time about my service dog and insisted that no pets are allowed. My dog is a real service animal and I have prescription from my mental health doctor at the North Texas Veterans Affairs Hospital.I will never go there nor do I care to ever support this business.I sure hope no one needs to use a wheel chair or oxygen tank in this store.

This place is great! Didnt even know they were here until I Google searched some trading card stores. The staff are friendly from my experience and Im sure something will appeal to anyone that goes here. I specifically went looking for magic the gathering supplies and cards and I am not dissapointed.Its recommended that you buy from your local game stores to help support them. I dont recommend buying online from other retailers unless they are niche to what you are looking for. Typically you get things cheaper at your local game store, and no wait is necessary when you can just show up and buy the stuff you need.Great experience. Would recommend!

Absolutely loved this shop! The place was packed with people playing tons of different games, and all of the games were easy to find! They had a newly established computer system to search for which magic cards you wanted and the employees would get it for you! The employees were amazingly helpful and knowledgeable as well! Common Ground Games was one of my two go-to stores. Jamison is a great person who worked with judges to accommodate my severe food allergies at every event I played in. I top 8d my first RPTQ here and drove 60 miles round trip with friends for every prerelease since. CGG is one of the two LGSs in Dallas I give priority to before ordering online.Unfortunately, some of the staff (one of which is THE MANAGER) whom Ive not interacted with before were incredibly rude. When a customer walks in and is prepared to spend $0.5k, you do not raise your voice at them. You shouldnt raise your voice at any customer. I spend thousands of dollars per year collecting cards and board games. None of that will be spent at CGG now.

This place is great, I lived around this area and never knew this was here. I have a friend who loves board games and I came here to find a gift for his birthday. The employee knew exactly what game I was talking about and knew where it was located in their massive collection. They also have a separate section where people can hang out and play card games. Their website has a calendar of events that they host each month. Definitely a place to visit if you enjoy card and board games.

This board game store is without a doubt one of the best I have been to. They have quite an extensive stock to choose from, and they have THE BIGGEST supply of demo games I have ever seen. I would imagine that literally any game you see in their store for sale has a demo copy that you can play. The play area is also huge. The prices here seem pretty reasonable too. Not as cheap as amazon but it’s absolutely worth it to support this place

This place simply rocks. They are always well stocked, usually have new stuff, and they have really cool sales. Like the mystery packages, you get a discount and a synopsis of game play or plot but the actual game is wrapped so you cant see what is inside. The staff is always friendly and happy to help you find stuff or make suggestions. They have a website, curbside service, and excellent safety precautions in place for Covid. Go CGG!!

Great selection, all the new games and plenty of old ones

The staff at Common Ground Games went above and beyond in order to help me find an incredibly hard to find item. I am so very thankful, because Im fairly certain that I would not have been able to get my hands on the item otherwise.

If you like tabletop games you cant go wrong here. They have a wide variety of things to choose from. Very welcoming environment. One of the best parts is the back wall in the play area where they have dozens of games you can just go in and play.

Everyone that works here is super friendly and knowledgeable on the games that are sold there. Everything is displayed in a way that you can easily find what you’re looking for.
