Michael has been an amazing resource for my daughter being able to continue her studies during this pandemic. He has kept his business running during a very difficult time for everyone with flexibility for everyone involved. He is extremely professional and takes the virus seriously and the safety of his students. There is no way you are going to find the expertise for fashion design that Michael brings into the classroom for this extremely reasonable price. You are working on the best equipment, using the best tools, and taught by an expert in a safe environment.Support this local business and Michaels talent, signing up was definitely worth it.

I signed up for this class in hopes of advancing my sewing skills. I purchased classes October 26, 2020. The dates listed for the class (and still are on Petit Ateliers website) were Nov. 2, Nov. 9, Nov. 16 and Nov. 23, 2020, and the class was to be held 6:30-9 p.m. each of those dates.Hours before our first class on Nov. 2, Michael emailed the class, saying the power was out and he had to cancel -- he was pushing the start date back by a week to begin Nov 9. I told him I might not be able to make the new date of the last class (now pushed to Nov. 30) in person -- could I still do it remotely? He said, We will figure it out. I don’t think it’s going to be. A problem (why not yes, when Petit Atelier specifically offers remote classes?).Today, Nov. 9, similar to last week, I received another email hours before our scheduled class time. This time, Michael canceled the class due to being sick. For context: There is no way to call due to a lost phone, and previous classes had been pushed as well based on the text Petit Atelier has on its own website.Since Im now halfway through my (already-paid-for classes) without actually being able to take those classes, I asked for a refund. He said class was still being held, just delayed by 2 weeks. I told him I signed up for classes on the condition of certain dates and times, and due to my schedule, I am not able to continue to push back/reschedule classes. [EDIT: He offered me to get my classes done by Nov. 23 but without an explanation on how exactly that would be accomplished when the time I have set aside for this class is 6:30-9 p.m. on Mondays. That means Im shorted HALF the class time I paid for, because as I repeatedly told him, I cannot make it other than the times I agreed to and paid for.] He then said I agreed to nonrefundable classes in Terms & Conditions, and that hed see [me] next week to discuss further without agreeing to refund me, even though I asked and then outright stated multiple times I need a refund. While I realize things happen, a business cannot agree to provide services on certain days and times without actually delivering (multiple times in a row) AND ALSO refuse to refund me when I cannot accommodate the business continuously changing the class times (a.k.a. terms, so interesting that he cites them when hes actually the one in breach of contract).EDIT: His response to my Google review: I will not expose countless numbers to a virus, cold, or anything else unnecessarily. Sewing class is not necessary for the day to day. I love what I do, I love my students, and I’m tired of explaining myself to people who hide behind their computer screens lashing out to get the answer or resolution to which they feel entitled.Interesting that 1. COVID is his excuse, when neither of the reasons (sickness was unrelated to COVID) were why he canceled. [EDIT: Hes right -- after reading the other recent 1-star review stating the owner is hiding behind the fact that there is COVID-19..., the owner appears to consider a virus, cold, or anything else to be a third / separate reason for why classes continue to be canceled.] 2. The person who emails with Sent with iPhone as their signature but somehow doesnt have a working phone for the business is accusing a PAID customer (without anything to show for that $175) as hiding behind a screen. Yes, I will publicly dispute this, since the owner wont refund for services I havent received.Regardless of opinions, a business cannot do whatever it wants when it involves taking money from a customer without delivering what was paid for. I will receive a refund.

I made payment for a class since July 9th and was told by petit atelier they “will be extending the classes for a week, then get back to me on the new dates and schedule. Up until now I haven’t heard a resumption date from petit atelier. Sent emails, left voicemails and tried calling but haven’t been able to reach Michael. Stopped by the building ,it’s been locked up like forever, it’s like the guy vanished after collecting my 175$ without a word on when the in person classes will start. PETIT ATELIER is unprofessional, lack communication skill, irresponsible,a fraud and scamming people off their money, hiding behind the fact that there is COVID-19...if classes won’t hold return my money....
