What mall? This is like a hometown neighborhood place one would walk down to with the family on a typical afternoon to sit on the patio, eat, drink, and watch the kids play on the lawn. A casual friendly atmosphere with good food and good drinks. Think of the cakes separately! These are seriously professionally hardcore beautiful and delicious. Take these home and eat like royalty or take these to a fancy party and people with think you are royalty.

In sure the full moon had something to do with it, but the wow factor usually provided by la Duni just wasnt there this time. Im still going back.EDIT: Kudos to La Duni for their response!! Looking back I can admit the review was a little vague. First, let me say we only eat there when visiting Dallas. As a matter of fact the Baking studio made our wedding cake. In regards to my visit last time at North Park Center, I felt the chicken was under seasoned, but cooked perfectly. Its been my one and only dish since the first time we dined there. My statement to missing the wow factor was solely based on that. That evening everything else was 5 stars. The service was excellent, and man my cafe latte was delicious. Im changing my original 4 star review to 5 now, because you guys and gals deserve it.

The food is very tasty and the ambiance it’s really nice. It’s an overview of Latin American cuisine. The have a mix platter for appetizers which has empanadas, sweet plantains, cheese balls and tostones (also plantain but fried). They have all kind of food, from tacos, to chorizo burgers, chicken salads, salmon, and others. The best part I should say it’s the desserts the triple chocolate Venezuelan cake it’s my favorite, followed by the cuatro leches cake. Drinks are OK, they have a great wine selection, and have lemonade with club soda which is my fav. Service has always been good, and it can be pricey. But it’s worth it.

La Duni is a successful fusion of Bakery, sweets shop and restaurant. It features a menu that straddles Mexican, Cuban and Latin Ametican flavors and ingredients. An extensive dessert list featuring tres lèches layer cakes is fantastic. The bar serves the expected tequilas and mojitos, but also exotic craft cocktails with ingredients like panela water, Venezuelan rums, passion fruit and mango.

Pros: Standard latin dishes, but with original touches that make the dishes stand out. The pepared coffees were good. The resturant itself is clean and well laid out. I saw the Conchas $5 for a pair and my eyebrow shot up, but they were delicious. The chocolate concha baked with (Abuelitas?) was great. Cons: It was busy at Sunday brunch and the servers we stretched.

The food and drinks there are always so delicious! You cant go wrong with any coffee here, and it comes with the tiny bread that is super tasty. For brunch, my favorite is the huevos fine, which is the sliced pop over with ham and eggs and potatoes. So amazing! You will not regret if you get this. The chilaquiles is also good as well and the portion is very generous. I also have to add that their chips and salsa are really good as well. Service is good but slightly slow. Ill definitely be back!

Went to the coffee bar (opens at 9AM) and ordered a French Cappuccino. The coffee menu alone is impressive, especially if you like more traditional-style espresso drinks!I also grabbed a “jarcake” from the refrigerated section, because the restaurant hadn’t opened yet (opens at 11AM). Their Cuatro Leches cake is really good!If I lived closer to North Park, I would regularly go here for coffee and dessert.

I was honestly a little underwhelmed with my visit. It had been years since my last visit to a La Duni location. I was excited to finally be going back as I remember liking pretty well. However, the whole experience this time was just a bit underwhelming. The service was very friendly, but slow. It took more than 5 minutes to be greeted. Once we were, he was friendly but not super informative. Just kind of got down to business. The food was good but nothing special. I got one of the salads (forgot the name) which was not as fancy as it sounded. However, it was good. It was basically a latin version of a caprese salad with avacado and grilled chicken. it was light and refreshing and just what I needed. My friend was disappointed in her rice salad. She felt the flavors didnt really go together. Like the components came from different dishes. She just wasnt in love with what she got.The chips and salsa were very good.Overall, it wasnt bad. While I would eat here again, Im not dying to go back.

If you only go here for the coffee youre already making a good decision. They have a good selection and, I cannot emphasize this enough, its all delicious. All of them. They also have baked goods which look beautiful, although I have yet to have any. Ive had a couple of their main dishes and every single one of them have been flavorsome and tasty. The ambiance is not stuffy and the people have always been courteous and friendly. Go, its a great place.

Met a friend for lunch at 11:45 on a Monday. We were able to be seated right away. The menu has lots of Latin-influenced options and that includes vegetarian and gluten-free. There is an extensive coffee, hot chocolate, and dessert menu.I opted for a side-dish lunch, which included a cold Red Quinoa salad with tart cherries and pecans (just the right amount savory-sweetness) and the Grilled Broccoli and Asparagus (garlicky, buttery and yummy, even though it had little asparagus in it.)My friend chose the Three salad option and said it was delicious. For dessert, we shared the cobbler (gluten-free) with ice cream - very good, but not your typical cobbler. We also ordered fancy-schmancy coffees that were pre-sweetened. I was able to get mine decaffeinated, and my friend ordered hers with soymilk. It was a great meal, and we didnt feel rushed. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful.

Like others who gave 1 and 2 star reviews, the issue wasnt the food, it was the service. Our server only came by to deliver the food, he never came by to ask if we wanted drink refills or additional chips and salsa. I had to go to the bar (twice) to get refills for my tea.We ordered the cinnamon bun to share. Some guy came by and dropped it off at the table and immediately left. We had no plates, so sharing the bun was rather difficult.I asked for for Tabasco - the woman that brought the sauce was wiping her nose with her hands - not very sanitary. There was a fork on the floor at the next table. Server after server just stepped over it and kept on walking.Overall it was a disappointing experience.

I have been to La Duni twice last week and both times experiences had been terrible, all related to customer service. The first time has to do with a pushy waiter who kept pushing for us to meet a minimum food/drink order. I understand that there is a minimum amount to be met, but the pushy method is not appreciated. The second time had to do with seating. We wanted to be seated close to the lawn because of our young kids, both waiter and manager were just plain not cooperative and rude, we ended leaving the restaurant. Apparently, those tables have no service. Yet, 15 minutes later I saw another family sitting there. Its unfortunate, I usually love the food there but wont be going back due to their customer service.

Wow is all I can say about this place.. I was eager to try here since I was visiting from out of town. The location, open grass area & Terrence made it appealing.First the greeter/host guy said I’ll be right back and left us hanging there for 15 minutes after we asked for a table. We finally approached a girl behind the cookie counter and asked if someone could help. We should’ve just left (I wish we would’ve) we ordered from a girl who seemed nice enough. I got the Taquitos & my friend got the Rib Eye Burger. The taquitos were dry and my friends burger was well done when she asked for it medium rare. We had to track the waitress down who never once came to ask how things were.Once she came we asked if the burger could be remade. It seemed like a big deal, I mean the way we were treated was ridiculous. I was nervous to ask for extra salsa to choke down the dry taquito but I did, and waitress said, I’ll see if I can do that.. really?I went to the best restaurants on this trip to Dallas and this one was the worst food and service.Go here only if your desperate but know you’ve been warned.

We visited Sunday not knowing of the Mothers Day brunch. I didnt want to eat but my kids were the reason of the visit. The front staff and someone who looked like a manager where not friendly. I was told that everyone who was seated at the table would be charged regardless of eating or not. I understand how things can be however the rude behavior was not necessary. As we walked thru the line everyone serving were just cold, no greetings or even helped by describing the dishes as they were no labels. It was just disappointing given the holiday it was and the fact that it wasnt even busy. Again what saved it was the food because that alone speaks for itself. I hope things change so we can continue to visit but for now we dont plan on returning.

I was in a hurry unfortunately, and thought I would stop in and get a frozen chocolate milk since its my favorite. I waited 10 minutes, which I new was normal for them. When I received my drink it was only half full. The whip cream barely went into the dome. The dome of the drink remained untouched. The whip cream was in the base when there should be more of the product. Then to make matters worse. The drink was SOLID frozen, like he didnt put enough milk inside. I literally turned the drink over to see if any would leak out. None did. The only thing that moved was the whip cream. So I had to let the drink sit for 10 minutes before I could even drink it.Absolutely unacceptable.

After about 10 minutes they brought our the food for our daughter. At 7:40, we had yet to receive our food. We were told the fact that we ordered one empanada is what takes long because they bake them fresh. From my experience, it doesn’t take 30 minutes to make an empanada. We watched other tables who sat down after us receive their food, including empanadas. We had to leave because it was already nearing our daughters bedtime. The manager came over and apologized. We told them we had to go. 5 minutes later they bagged our food for us. What was sad to me was they didn’t even comp anything.
