Annie is literally amazing. I got pierced by her and felt like the pain was so minimal because she knows what she’s doing and has a soft touch. She talked me through the piercing and made me feel super comfortable. It’s more on the expensive side but I feel like you get what you pay for, and I wouldn’t want to skimp on something like a piercing. Despite the costs I loved my experience and will definitely be going back!

I am 100% pleased with my experience yesterday at shaman modifications in Dallas! I love the location and how its set up. Looks like an art gallery! It screams QUALITY!!!! I was greeted by I guy with a beard when I came in. Sorry I didnt catch his name... But he was very welcoming, helpful,,and friendly! I had talked with Annie via dm on Instagram 3 days prior about the possibility of getting a floating navel piercing. I have some existing scar tissue from a couple previous failed attempts done at other shops. And I just wanted to make sure it was possible before I made rhe trip. She said it looked possible, but suggested I came in for an anatomy check to be sure. Once she was done taking care of her other clients she came and greeted me, and took me back for the anatomy check. She took her time and inspected the area and said we could move forward with the piercing. From there I picked out jewelry, filled out the paper work, and watched an aftercare video. I loved that! Everything was clean and the process was very quick, smooth, and pretty painless. This was by far the most thorough piercing experience Ive had. And I can wait to come back to get my ears upgraded! Some say its expensive, but youre getting a piercing done by a certified piercer with quality jewelry... I say you get what you pay for.‍

Took my baby girl to get her ears pierced for the first time by Annie. She made sure my baby was comfortable and prepared before she received her piercing. And was extremely patient with her! Definitely recommend going there for yourself or for your babies if they are 10 years or older.Thanks Annie!

Don’t know how this place has high ratings. The low ratings on here are exactly what I experienced. The girl who switched my piercing out wasn’t nice and barely spoke to me. She was not friendly and I felt so uncomfortable. I also wanted to buy some earrings and she was acted like she didn’t want to help. Do not go here and find another place. I never want to come back here again.

The piercing process was clean and professional. I enjoyed my experience. There are a lot of jewelry options, however they are EXPENSIVE and my experience makes me wonder about the quality. I had a threadless stud pierced and the earring fell out during day to day activities. When I called to ask about getting a new one they told me I could purchase another, when I had already spent about $200 on the studs.

Really expensive. Very nice jewelry but for a belly piercing they wanted to charge me from $120-$180. 🤨 thats insane.

Came back to edit my review after going for my third piercing with Annie. I appreciate the honesty about the risks of getting a floatie navel piercing. I went ahead and got it done. It is healing well. The issue (forgot to mention on last review) is the post op instructions, how to remove, and which type of jewelry we can purchase. The catch here is, since this is a fine jewelry shop I feel that there is very minimum information given afterwards so that we can come back and purchase their overpriced jewelry. I was dissapointed with the post op instructions I was given for the floatie, I asked Annie when it was okay to change out the initial jewelry and she said once I felt comfortable. She always gives me a date to go in to see her which is a month following the piercing. This time, I was not given a follow up date. So to save money, I purchased another belly ring somewhere else. I was given the ulgliest initial jewelry ever, so since I felt fine according to Annie’s post op instructions, I attempted to change it out. I gave up as the flat disks on both ends were impossible to takeout. I called and had to ask how to do it. Still could not, drove all the way to the shop, and to my disappointment Annie refusd to take off the piercing, she said I had to wait a month. I did not want to argue with her as that was not the instructions I was given, I wasn’t even given a follow up date. The reason why I think she refused also, was that their warranty is voided if we do not choose a piece of jewelry from their shop (I showed her my own bought elsewhere jewelry). Please give appropriate follow up instructions and instruct your clients on how to remove the initial piece of jewelry. Not everyone has 600 dollars for a piece of jewelry from your shop.

I’ve received a ton of my piercings here, for example, my nipples, tragus, and conch. Each time no matter which piercer I see I’m treated with respect and professionalism that keeps me coming back. This is the best shop in Dallas.

Went in and was greeted right away. I went in to change my jewelry since it was pierced with the wrong type in another shop tattoo and piercing shop around 3 months ago. I was helped and picked a cute little stud. I couldnt be more happier. It feels lightweight and so much easier to clean. I will definitely be back. Ive been wanting to get my helix pierced for a while now and SO thrilled that I found Annie at Shaman. Shes even a member of the American Piercing Association which is plus! In the past, Ive gone to Claires to get it done and ended up with a bad infection. But the experience at Shaman was very pleasant and professional. They take time to explain the process and after care thoroughly. Their social distancing and cleaning protocols for COVID-19 were top notch. A little on the pricier side but DEFINITELY worth it!

I’ve gotten my three most recent piercings there, the piercers are APP Certified, and extremely skilled. This is a high quality, reputable studio and they mostly stock BVLA jewelry, so it can be a bit more expensive than other studios unless you go with the most basic titanium ends. I got 3 piercings last month and I love the placements and they are healing so nicely.

Drove all the way from Midland to get pierced at this place after seeing their work on Instagram. Annie was so awesome and helped answer every question I had. The shop is clean and has you wash your hands upon entry, and they make sure to go through aftercare *before* you get your piercing, and of course the piercer wearing gloves, all the needles are sterile in their individual packages. Before piercing, they make sure you like the placement which is good because evenness was a major concern of mine! The BVLA jewelry they have is so beautiful and one of the reasons I came here specifically, you know you’re getting quality stuff. Will be returning for every piercing I ever get. Thanks, Annie! 🖤

I got my nose piercing done here with my sister. We loved it. Not painful compared to my industrial( that one hurt 😅) I had a tragus piercing also that my body was rejecting. Annie changed the jewelry for me so i didnt have to take it out. I really didnt want to i love my piercing. She was so sweet and understanding. For now on for me we will stick with titanium. Annie was my piercer and she did an awesome job listening to what I wanted and made adjustments accordingly. I finally got my ears pierced after dealing with really sensitive skin as a child. I was extremely nervous but I had no reason to be. Annie is amazing. She is extremely kind and explains everything to you with no problem. I was a nervous wreck and even emailed her before hand and she is not the least bit bothered by all the questions. She explained all the products to me and talked me through the whole process.Also, during this time of COVID they are EXTREMELY clean! Do not be worried about anything! You must wear a mask the entire time and wash your hands when you walk in. Annie wore two pair of gloves when she did my piercing and she wore a mask. This company seems so genuine. Pretentious and unaccommodating. I’ve been in this place twice and each time the experience has been the same. I search by reviews but the reviews on this place must be solicited because they can’t be real. Rude, unprofessional, condensing and a serious sense of superiority. How does a a piercing parlor have a guy like Jimmy being judgmental at the door. We decided to go to Taboo Tattoo they were amazing. Taboo tattoo is more excepting, honest and most importantly Taboo tattoo doesn’t have a guy like Jimmy working there.

Competent, knowledgeable, pretty fast considering they only have one piercer working right now, prices vary a great deal depending on the material you purchase (simple titanium, gold, rose gold, etc.). Reliable place to go and they will help you if you have any issues with your piercing after the fact.

Went to watch my sister swap her starter out with something new and ended up getting my septum done (something Ive wanted for 6 years). They took walk ins so I did it! They were very professional and licensed properly. They gave clear aftercare directions both verbally and in an email for you, they walked me through everything that was about to happen and again as it happened. It was fantastic. The shop was very clean and they have separate rooms for getting the work done. I loved their selection of body jewelry. Absolutely recommend for any piercing!

First experience at Shaman! I went in to get my septum pierced and the ladies who helped me were quick, thorough with post-care instructions, and just overall really sweet. It’s a pretty painful piercing and they were really great at calming me before, not judging me and my tears during, and being proud mamas after it was done. A bit pricey but totally worth it — this isn’t a service I want done for “bargain pricing.” 10/10 experience — give them a try!

The displays are filled with pieces in a broad range. Titanium, gold, diamonds, gems; this isnt your typical shop. I was greeted warmly and walked through the process of my piercing (rook, left ear). They covered everything from start to finish. Drea was my piercer. I cannot sing her praises loud enough. She was professional, personable, and had such skill. I am extremely happy I chose Shaman. I’m an Austin native, so the Shaman shop name is familiar to me. Pineapple (owner) has earned a reputation for being professional and he’s known for keeping relationships with high end and custom jewelry makers, and this is reflected in the shop’s selection. I was so frustrated at trying to find one solid gold nose and septum jewelry in Dallas, but walked into Shaman to find an overwhelming amount. It is true that it’s a bit pricey, but I’d rather trust the source and quality of metal when putting it into my body (especially since I can’t tolerate metal in other part of my body except the nose). I say this as someone who was also initially sticker shocked, but you get what you pay for - And the jewelry selection is beautiful, from tiny and minimal to very loud.
