Robert...(owner) was a delight to meet. He was all about meeting the needs of the customer. My car was taken care of and the overall service was good. Robert and the crew made me feel calm cool and better off than I was when I arrived.

Its been a few weeks but I scheduled online and took my car in first thing in the morning for a general maintenance check. It took a while but I ended up talking with the owner and it was a pleasant experience. I think if youre in need of general repairs and maintenace, this is a good and honest shop to bring in your vehicle.

I get tired of the runaround from most of these semi-pro repair shops.Took one of our cars in for service and everything works great. Seems like these guys are one of the few that still value attention to detail.

What I liked about knaap was the precision with which they did my work and did not give me an update without checking which most of the mechanics do nowadays. Although my car was a bit delayed but I was okay with it and it was worth it. I had an issue with my battery where my brake lights were draining out my battery. Good guys. :)

Went in for a diagnostic and basic maintenance. Left car at 8 and was called around noon for diagnosis. Got my car a couple hours later. Reasonable pricing and they fixed problems I was having. Good to find a quality local garage.

I used Knapp one time before and then again yesterday. I probably shouldnt even say how great the experience was for the sake of the owner and you may not even believe it. He cant stay in business doing stuff like this so dont get your hopes up. I took a part to be replaced and it turned out to be the wrong part. Since my truck wasnt drivable with the old part removed, Robert handed me the keys to his personal truck so I could get the part exchanged. When the repair was completed, he hands me my keys and says have a good day. Of course, I ask how much I owed and he says no charge today. Ive heard of mechanics ripping people off but NEVER doing free work. Im a customer for life

A friend recommended Knapp auto repair to us, so we took our car here after the dealership told us we needed to replace an entire part. Knapp auto told us the part just needed to be cleaned, which saved us a lot of money. They were extremely friendly and communicative. We will definitely be back here.

I had my truck repaired at Knapps 3 times. Each time the initial repair required additional work that wasnt completed completely on the first visit. I was told I would be contacted when the parts were in and an appointment would be scheduled. After a couple of weeks with each situation, I stopped in to inquire about the parts and when I would be scheduled. Each time I was told they would get the parts and call me to schedule. It does not take this long to get parts. Each time it was as if it was my first visit. This occurred over the past 6 months. The last time I had service work was due to an emissions problem with a check engine light on. Part of the problem was repaired but my check engine light is still on. I stopped in to the shop and they said they would get the parts and call me to schedule. TWICE now. My last contact was to say I need to get this fixed as my inspection is due. They said they would get parts and call me to schedule it, probably for Saturday. That was 3 weeks ago.Im finding another shop.

Charged me $1500, kept the car from 5/2/21-8/27/21. After initial estimate Robert(owner) said I have to pay half up front for him to do any work, which I did right away.I took my 1972 mustang forIt was stalling on 2nd gearFront brakesDashboards light weren’t workingA/c wasn’t workingOn 8/27 when I picked the car up, nothing of that list was fixed.Car left this shop worst then what I brought in.As soon as I took the car out on the road it stalled on me(ain’t a stick), it started smoking pretty heavily from the back wheel so I brought the car back to the shop maybe 5-10 mins after I picked it up because supposedly it was fixed now and the only thing that still needed work was the A/c.If u going in for a oil change or break service maybe they can handle that but if u have a classic car, please save urself the headache and go somewhere else.

DO NOT GO HERE! They continuously had to fix my boyfriends car after he took it in and STILL could not fix it. He has been without a car for over 2 weeks as he had to return it 3 times. This is absurd. He has spent way too much money uberring back to his car at the shop just to have to get it fix AGAIN!!

Worst experience with an auto shop ever!Hello CarWash uses Knapp for their body shop repairs. Repair estimate was done in December 2020 and we are now in February 2021 and no repair has been done. Owner Robert never followed up in 2 months and no customer service when I showed in person 3 times to get a follow up, just a “what’s your number, I’ll give you a call later”.How hard can it be to get your hands on a top grill in Dallas TX haha wow! I guess it takes more than 2 months with Knapp.Good thing Hello CarWash is sending me to an actual body shop 👍🏽

I highly recommend you find a different mechanic. I went here and got a free diagnosis for my car and the owner Robert told me my cars repairs would be 2600 I’m total 1800 of that was very important to repair. A majority of the price was parts. I have a 2003 Buick Regal meaning American made so parts are very affordable. After price checking the parts at a local auto store I found out based on what parts Robert said I needed done they were only about 4 or 5 hundred dollars. I had already decided to get the work done but decided to instead take my car to my dealer a little ways away. To my surprised after all was said and done my mechanic only found a few of the things Robert recommended to need addressing and I spent 455$ for my repairs instead of 2600$. 2200$ saving. Save your money for an honest mechanic.

Robert and the team are great to work with. Two weeks ago, I came in and they took a look at my car. The check engine light has been on for a while and they found it was an issue with the upstream O2 sensor.Today, I went back and they installed the new part quickly and efficiently. I was blown away by my experience at the shop; you can trust the people who work here. Theyre honest, they know cars really well, and theyre good at explaining whats going on. If youre looking to get work done on your car, I would highly suggest going to Knapp Auto Repair.

This is a very trustworthy and knowledgeable mechanic. Rob and his guys have gone way out of their way numerous times to help me. I first met him when I was in a pinch with a leaky brake line right before leaving for a trip and he had me in and out in just a couple of hours without any notice. Now that I am having problems with my emissions he has helped me to save as much money as possible including lots of free advice. I had a broken hood latch when I went in there one day to have my codes read and one of his guys fixed it for me without my even mentioning it. They’re just really great people in there. I have already made them some referrals and will continue to do so.

I had a pleasant experience considering my circumstances and with the dreadful auto breakdown. Excellent customer service with reasonable cost. Very knowledgeable, professional and honest with their work.

Went in to get a quote on some body work and cracked windshield. After having to listen to Robert spout off his questionable political views for 30 mins, which I did not ask to hear, someone took a look at my car. Was told I would be sent a quote in 30 min. Its been 5 days and after 2 calls, no response from anyone. Im sure the mechanics may do good work but Ill never know because I never got to that point. Overall a very unprofessional experience.

I had been dreading trying to find a new mechanic in Dallas and finally decided to check out Knapp Auto Repair after reading all of the glowing reviews from previous customers. It was by far the easiest, most enjoyable, and most straight-forward experience Ive ever had getting anything done on my vehicle. The owner is honest and charges an extremely reasonable rate for work. My vehicle was in and out quickly with no appointment needed. HIGHLY recommend them for any vehicle repairs you need!! Went in for a routine tail light replacement when the wait at Firestone was 2 hrs. I was in and out within 30 minutes with no charge. Friendly, easy and quick.

I brought my car in with OEM parts that I purchased directly from Lexus about a year ago. I was needing both front brake rotors and pads replaced. Knapp gave me a very reasonable price to do the work and it saved me a decent amount of money by not having the dealership do it. When I had my car serviced by Lexus this week, they discovered that the rotors were installed on the wrong sides. This resulted in a pricey fix to have Lexus uninstall/reinstall them correctly and they noted that I would probably need to get them replaced soon because of the damage from being installed the wrong way. I had a pleasant experience with Knapp initially, but obviously very disappointed after discovering the issue this week.

I went in as a walk-in to have a check engine light diagnostic (which was free of charge). Turns out it was due to my mass air sensor. Instead of telling me that I needed a new one, Robert cleaned my sensor and put it back in to double check it. Thankfully that was all it needed. I wasn’t charged a dime, fair and honest spot. Glad I stopped by!

They did a small fix for me for free! Fast, responsive, and personable.

This will be the shop I choose for all my car repairs. I had a mechanic friend take a look at my car to diagnose an AC issue. He said if it was a compressor failure, I would have to replace the compressor, condenser, drier, and expansion valve--about $2,000 worth of work.I took it to Knapp for a second opinion. The compressor has failed, but they said I only need to replace the compressor and drier. Quoted price was $900-1,000. While expensive, its a lot better than $2,000!And they didnt charge me for the AC diagnosis. I will be coming back to have this repair done. They are honest, professional, and reasonably priced!

I went here based on the positive reviews. When I first walked in I was a bit skeptical and worried about my car because my exhaust system went out. The owner was very attentive and even participated in my vehicle repair. He was very quick to resolve my issues. We even had time to talk about local restaurants and each others lives.They have a sign that says we can fix everything, but a broken heart. Thats not true the owner did fix my heart I was really worried about what the cost was gonna be as I am a broke college student. The owner took care of me and I am really happy to have met him. He didnt know me, but he treated me like we were friends.I have already referred 2 people this guy.Update: Once again this guy amazes me I had issues and he fixed them at an amazing price again. This guy is fantastic. I highly recommend Robert and his crew.

From a business perspective, not very professional. I came in to get my vehicle looked at for AC problems. I walked in and it was empty. Rang the bell 2 times. Decided to wait in the waiting room and 30 minutes went by without any help. Finally just decided to walk out. Saturdays are my only days off to check my vehicle. I scheduled an appointment online which I now believe is just an empty form that leads to some google sheet that no one looks at or reviews. I was on a time crunch and purposefully scheduled my appointment early for that reason. My time was wasted and it was very unfortunate that this was the type of business that was conducted.

I love coming to Knap Auto Repair to get my car fixed. If Im having a issue with my car, I take my car up there and they always fix it and they let me know whatever else is wrong with my car .The manager Robert is a awesome guy... all the mechanics are well educated about cars and prices are very good as well as work . I know I can only give 5 stars but Knapp Auto Repair deserves 10 stars because they do excellent work and have good service.

We took our car in to Roberts auto shop because our Nissan quit running. I talked to him during lunch. He said he would try and find out what was wrong with the car and let us know that afternoon. Come to find out it was the steering anti-locking device that went bad. He told us what it would cost. We found out the device had a recall. Robert did not charge us for diagnosis. Hes fair person. I have continued to use him for my mechanic work. Cant wait for him to overall my truck engine and modify it for better RV trailer hauling. Thanks.

Other shops wanted to charge $130 do a diagnosis on my ABS light. Robert from Knapp Auto Repair was more interested in earning my business and helped me figure it out for no charge. The best part was that they fixed it for 1/3 of the price PepBoys was charging just to do the diagnosis and thats including the price of the wheel speed sensor. You would never expect to find an honest mechanic shop thats right around the corner. Its easy to see why theyve been in business for as long as they have. While I was waiting, 3 customers had come in for routine maintenance like oil changes that he knew by first name and theyve been coming for years. Small and local business at its finest.l me what

I have been doing business with Robert at Knapp Auto Repair for over 15 years. I took my jeep in this past Monday for a brake job. I was in and out in a little over an hour, and the work was done perfectly. I just wont use anyone else. Knapp Auto knocks it out of the park every time. Trade with them with confidence.

Update:We had some communication issues, but once I returned to Dallas I contacted Mr Robert. He told me to bring my vehicle back to him, and he would make things right. He followed through with his promise.I have taken my truck to this location a few times. I was having trouble with my truck, and wanted to have it fixed before making a trip out of town. I told them it might be the fan clutch, but wasnt sure. The mechanic said he thought it was the fan clutch. They fixed the truck, I picked my truck up, and headed out of town the next day. I got three hours out of town, and my truck overheated on the interstate. I had to have the radiator replaced, and spent two nights on hotel bills. I called Robert expressing my concern that the fan clutch replacement was related to my radiator overheating. Either the radiator was the problem in the first place, or the fan clutch was not replaced properly. I did not receive a call back.

These guys were great. They drove me to my car, handled getting a new battery for me quickly, had it delivered and I was out the door in no time at all! Super friendly and honest. I highly recommend these guys!

I put my car and SUV in their shop and they made promises they could not keep on turn around time and still did not complete the repairs when I drove it off their lot. My other car was also in their shop and needed the engine replaced. Again they gave me the runaround about the timeframe and caught the owner lying about already purchasing the used engine. I then fired the shop and asked to return my car and $5000 deposit for the engine. It’s been almost a year and he’s still not returned my deposit. I hired this shop because of their 5 star ratings, but they do not hold up for any stars from me.Update. I have discover that this shop had 2 lawsuits for similar dealings with other clients.

Took my Jeep by after I found a part under it that looked like had fallen off. They were quick, reasonable and professional. Building is nice as well. I would highly recommend them!

Look there’s a lot of credit shops all around this place. Just if you ask me, myself and everyone I know has had a bad if not terrible experience with this place. I just use certified places now and couldn’t be happier.

Cant say enough about the commitment to service, efficiency, and honest repair work at Knapp Auto Repair. Thought I might not be able to drive home after work, and would need to spend more money on getting back and forth the next day, but they made it happen. They took my vehicle in later in the day (about an hour prior to closing), and still got the work done before 6pm, all at a fair price. Im recommending this shop to anyone I know.

Owner is really rude. Hung up on me when i was asking for an estimate. I know all the specs of my car so its not like there was any guess work he just didnt want to talk to me. He literally said, I dont quote over the phone then hung up. My husband was able to get a quote over the phone but my husband didnt know how many catalytic converters or 02 sensors my car needs so i called back with the correct info. The owner is obviously a sexist jerk.

My 97 4Runner was vibrating like crazy. Took it to Knapp and told them I recently worked on the brakes. They honed in on that area and found out I over-adjusted one of the brakes. They fixed that and took time to look at other potential issues while under the truck. Needless to say, they didn’t charge me anything for doing that. Wow. I find out they’ve been in business at that location for over 30 years. Really good people. I’ll take my business there from here on out.

(Truthfully though I dont know much about cars, but I still want to take care of my Volkswagen so it will last)Robert (the shop owner) and his crew are extremely kind and helpful. They fixed up both my boyfriends car and mine at a reasonable cost. Im a mother of 3 children, and when I found out one morning that my car battery was dead, I was very upset! I made a call to Knapp Auto to see how they could help. Solo came right away to my apartment and jumped my car, then he escorted me to the gas station to get gas (I was on empty!), jumped me again at the gas station, and lead me to the Knapp Auto garage! When I got there, Mr. Knapp entertained my 2 year old daughter and I while Solo fixed my battery! They were so kind and helpful, Im really in awe of their efficiency and consideration! Ill never use another auto garage, because Knapp feels like home! Thank you all so much!

My ac needed to be fixed. I initially took it to Firestone and was quoted $1100 for a massive leak inside the dash. That massive leak was nothing more than a leaky valve that needed replacing! Only cost me $130 when I brought it to Robert! I will never take my car anywhere else! This place has great, honest and trustworthy guys who do great work!

I was cheated. Robert couldnt diagnose what turned out later to be a bad tank of gas and I wasted $1,500 acting on that advice, including the effort necessary to undo everything his techs screwed up on my engine trying to troubleshoot it.After towing it to my home city, my regular mechanic found it was a bad tank of gas and that Robert had installed parts I didnt need. Others were replaced incorrectly, e.g. without the mounting bolt. Then he would explain that he couldnt figure out why it was leaking oil everywhere.Robert freely admits his techs arent the best. No kidding, Robert! Now you tell me. And now I understand what you mean when you tell all your customers I had spent way more time on the project than I was charging for.I never saw a dime back.

I came in to get my brakes done. There was a lot of shaking in my steering wheel after I got them done. Now the owner tried working with me by continuing to shave down my rotors. I took it to Goodyear and they fixed it. I came in to use my warranty to have my brake shoes replaced and I was told that brake shoes should last five years. Please stay away from this place they don’t take care of their customers.
