Really great experience. I was recommended by a friend. I brought my vehicle in to make sure a strut was OK to bring on a roadtrip. From start to finish everyone there was very helpful and friendly. It is hard in this area to find a good mechanic/shop. It is even harder to find a mechanic that you can talk to and explain sounds and ask about maintenance. Specifically Adam and Darrell, thanks and keep up the great work 👍 I am making this my new shop!

Ask for Adam. He floats between a few locations but spends a good portion of his time at the Cottonwood Heights shop. I’ve been going to him for the past 6 months now. He’s intelligent, honest, and an all around great individual to work with. Hillside give him a raise.

I had my spare tire cage fall apart and Nate helped bolt it back on quickly, and didn’t charge me anything. Such good customer service. You can tell the atmosphere is great there. Definitely will be going there for any repairs or tire needs.

They are amazing. Took my car in for an electrical problem, and unfortunately I had to take it back a week later for the same problem. They kept it for a couple of days and monitored it closely looking for the problem. When I picked it up the second time they didn’t charge me a dime. Thanks so much guys!

These guys are always on point and don’t try to nickel and dime you. My wife went in once because she had a flat on the way to work and they went out of their way to get her back on the road quickly. My boyfriend and I went to Hillside Tire last week due to a leak in one of our front tires. Other tire shops said the leak was not fixable. Since we have Goodyear tires on our truck, we made a visit to Hillside since they are listed as an authorized Goodyear tire center. Upon arriving at Hillside, we waited about half an hour to have someone take a look at the leak. It was a really busy morning at the shop and Fil, who helped us, checked the leak, and fixed/plugged the area and had us out of there in 15 minutes. This was all greatly appreciated as we are traveling from out of town and the fix has been a big stress reliever. Thank you Hillside and Fil for helping us out and providing fantastic customer service!

BE WARNED - THIS TIRE SHOP TREATS WOMEN DIFFERENTLY THAN MEN, UPSELLS LIKE CRAZY, AND DOESNT OWN THEIR MISTAKES.My family has done business with them for 30 years. When my husband and I moved to the area I naturally started bringing my 2 cars here. I have bought my last 3 sets of tires from them, but on the 2nd set they told me the only option in the entire NATION was this $800 set of tires (4 tires) which they had to recommend because one tire of mine was bad (getting flats continually) and they had searched the WHOLE NATION for the same tires that I had and couldnt find them, so they could only recommend these $800 tires. In desperation I called my husband and told him, and I even was defending the reasoning behind spending so much on a set of tires to him, and he called to talk to them and MAGICALLY they found another set of tires (that they had in stock) that would work for my Ford Edge that only cost $400 for the set.Fast forward to the 3rd set of tires (on our other car - same car as our 1st set)- brought them in and they recommended new tires. I didnt question it because it had been a while since our last rotation. Ended up spending $700 on a visit that shouldve cost $80.Now, Im here for another quick oil change and tire rotation - cant believe I hadnt already learned my lesson. Well today I did. They first came back and wanted to change my brake pads and rotors on the back wheels - $360. My husband is good with cars and does maintenance sometimes so he looked up how much it would cost for him to buy the parts himself - $51. (Later they told me the $360 charge is for something that would take them 30 minutes... which means theyre making $600 an hour after parts???) When I told them I didnt want that and they brought my car out again, they casually said oh and that thunk when you put it into gear and the grinding when you turn the wheel - thats probably your motor mount and when youre ready for us to look at that let us know. ...I had never heard a thunk or grinding before so I just kind of said ...OK? and paid and went to leave. When I got in my car and turned the key there was an immediate thunk after the engine turned on, and it stopped the engine. I couldnt put it into gear (I hadnt realized it had stopped) and the check engine light was on. I called them over and they said it was probably my motor mount and there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that anything they did would have caused my engine to stop functioning.Long story short (kind of) - it was 100% their fault. When they checked my air filter their mechanic knocked the air filter hose off and thats what was causing the engine to shudder and thunk and turn off.When I tried to reiterate that I had been correct - it was not a coincidence that I gave them a perfectly functioning car and they returned a car that was not functioning - the manager still denied that they had anything to do with it not functioning, but had only caused the Check Engine light (which was caused by the air filter hose, which was causing the car to thunk and shudder and turn off). IT DIDNT MAKE ANY SENSE - He was just completely unwilling to admit that they may have made a mistake. No apology, just you should be good to go now.After these experiences I will NEVER be bringing my car back here. I used to think so highly of them and think that theyd take care of me and do the right thing and now I have no confidence in them. I can only expect that theyll try to take advantage of me not understanding cars, and being a woman, and give me worse quotes than they give my husband. And that theyll refuse to take accountability or ownership for problems that come up.Ill be telling everyone I know not to go here, and Id recommend you avoid this shop at all costs.

There’ is no better shop than this one right here. But you don’t even have to listen to me! Pull in and look around, you’ll see luxury cars like Tesla’s, new bmws and more. There is a reason these cars are here. They could probably afford to go anywhere but always seem to be at this shop. It goes to show the quality of their work. Been going here for years and always recommend this place.

I made an appointment through their company website to have my car serviced. I rolled up to their location on Ft Union in Cottonwood Heights promptly at my appointed time, I was greeted in a friendly manner by the service manager and then things went off script from there. This location does not accept appointments, the service manager does not know anything about a website (it is a nice website; hillsidetire.com; with easy to follow instructions on how to make an appt). He did offer to put me and my car in line for the next service opening as long as I could wait for up to 2 hours for my oil change. I simply said no and began to walk out, no big deal. I thought. The service manager was actually upset with me because I was leaving! He felt the need to berate me for not knowing how his company does business and how I should be thankful they are even open and I should learn to be more patient. The parting shot from the service manager was to bad for you, I hope you have a nice day ... the sarcastic kind. I know I am just one customer and that Hillside Tire will do just fine without my business, I just wish the service manager could have kept his mouth shut and not let his sarcasm fly.

My family has been customers of Hillside for years. At 5PM the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, I found myself with a flat tire in the parking lot of Harmons. I called Hillside and they said they were getting ready to close but would stay open long enough for the tow truck to arrive. Good people who five good service

Tom was incredibly helpful in assisting me in buying my first set of tires. I had many questions comparing different ones and he gave me the direction I needed to make the best decision.

Took our GMC Yukon in for a an oil change and then had to take it to another mechanic for something else and they said the oil change was ever done. Had breaks checked on my sons car, hubcap popped off on the way home because they didn’t put it on correctly so we had to buy four new ones. Delays galore in getting our cars back — never ready on time. In one case, they had our car, waited forever to get back to us and then told us they couldn’t get to it until the following week. We live in this area and want to find a local mechanic we can go to for everything. Hillside Tire is not that place.

I just want to start off by saying that i brought my car into hillside tire for a vibration issue in the front end of my vehicle. Big O told me that it was my struts and that it would cost me over a thousand dollars to get them replaced. the guy at Big O seemed like he didnt know what he was talking about. so i took it over to hillside tire and they got me in right away and as it turns out it wasnt my struts causing the vibrations, it was the tires causing the vibrations because the tires were separated and showing cords. so they got me into a really good set of Michelin tires for a really great price, and even mailed in my rebate info for me so i didnt have too.this is the most honest and reliable auto shop Ive ever been too. the management team they have is totally amazing. they are kind, honest, and very knowledgeable. especially Tom. and the techs they have are the best Ive ever had servicing my car. I am recommending Hillside tire to all of my friends and family, they have definitely earned my business for life

Absolutely the BEST! I had a dead battery and called them for a referral. They sent someone to my home in less than 10 minutes. He jumped the battery and I am good to go! He was so KIND and helpful. I am so relieved. I looked to call Uber as the internet suggested but I had no cables. Heck I didnt6 even know the make of the car I own. But these nice guys sent someone right over. Ive been taking my cars here for repairs for the last several years, and have always been treated fairly. They are quick, professional, and stand by their work and estimates. Tom is particularly great to work with.

Super pleased with my experience here. Called first to get a price quote on new tires and CV axle repair. Quoted the lowest price of everywhere else I called. Upon arriving, everyone was super friendly and I was treated very well. I was also told that my CV axles were just fine and didnt need replacing or repair. I found out it was a recall issue that I was able to get repaired at Ford for free. I really appreciated their honesty and great service.Ended up driving over a nail a couple weeks after I got my new tires so I stopped by for a free repair. In and out in under ten minutes.Coming back for my 90,000 mile maintenance and everything else.

These guys were great. I had a blowout on I-15 and needed an odd sized tire on Christmas Eve. Hillside Tire was the 7th phone call I made to tire dealers that day. All of the other big name dealer told me they couldnt help me until after Christmas and could not refer me to a place that might have the size I needed. The people at Hillside went out of the way to get my tire so I could head home the next day.I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I found out that I had a screw in my tire, while I was at work in Sugar House. Instead of looking for a place close to my location, (and after making sure that there was enough air in the tire to drive) I decided to drive to Cottonwood Heights to take my car to my very favorite repair shop, Hillside Tire.Nate fixed my tire immediately and I was on my way in less than five minutes. They didnt charge me anything! I have ALWAYS been so pleased with their service, kindness and honest advice! It is so nice to know I have a repair shop that I trust! I choose Hillside Tire over any shop any day!

I used to bring my car here for regular maintenance and oil changes. They said they had changed the power steering fluid but never did, and ended up breaking the pump. It cost over $1000 to replace, just because these guys cut corners to save money, and will lie to your face about it. If you value the safety of your car or your money, please dont trust Hillside with anything.

Weve been coming to Hillside for the last year and a half. Over that time weve received great customer service and quality work. We bring in all three of our cars. One time they made a mistake and we came in and showed them and they refund all of the money we spent on that repair. They are very good to accommodate my needs for a ride when I leave my vehicle with them.

Hillside is great for repairs - I took my van in due to the engine light being on and they took the time to figure out the issue - come to find out, something came unplugged and it triggered the engine light, which they fixed it without charging me a dime! Ive used them several times and each time, the service has been great and prices very fair and reasonable. I would highly recommend them for your car repairs!

The only slightly bad thing is that they are so busy sometimes it takes a little bit longer to get your tires done, but I still wouldnt trade them with any other tire service company. Yesterday my battery light came on and after I had the battery replaced the light still stayed on. I remembered I had read last week on FB that someone needed a mechanic in our area and asked if anyone have someone they would recommend. Several people had mentioned how great Hillside Tire is. I called Hillside this morning and asked if they thought it could be the alternator and they said to bring it in and they would check it for free. Of course, it was the alternator but they were able to fix it the same day and they had really friendly service and I think it was a fair price.Also. their parking lot was completely full of cars and it was hard to find a parking spot but that signals to me they must be a trustworthy business to be that busy!

We have taken multiple to Hillside for many years. Tom is always great to work with. They are honest, and will tell you how it is without trying to overcharge. I would say not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive. The quality would exceed anyone though! We have had regular maintenance (oil, tires, etc.) and various mechanical and accidental repairs. You can not go wrong with Hillside!

Jumped in my car after work & started driving. Noticed my car was pulling hard to the right & my tire light was on. Just happened to be close to Hillside Tire so I pulled in. As soon as I got out, they already knew what to do. They just fixed me up & sent me on my way in less than 5 minutes even though they were all busy working on other project. Didnt even charge me! Id recommend checking them out!

Theyre kinda rough around the edges, but genuinely honest and stand by their work.They may not have the best prices on everything, but they wont deceive you or recommend unnecessary repairs, and sometimes theyll even fix your car for free!Which, in an industry known for its trickery, means Hill Side Tire of CW Heights trustworthiness merits 5 stars.

Best tire and general mechanic/repair shop in the valley hands down. Make/model doesnt matter they can do it all. Ive taken Subarus, Infinitis, Gmcs, and VWs for both tires and service/repairs and they dont balk at anything and have been able diagnose and fix everything.Ive been taking my cars here for over ten years and Ill drive from anywhere in the valley to make sure whatever I need done is done here. I know its going to be honest, up front, priced fair, done quickly and correctly the first time.All the locations are good but this cottonwood heights location is my favorite. Unless you know someone who works here, I wouldnt even bother... I was told my emissions check, tire rotation and oil change would take an hour to an hour and a half. I have been sitting here for three hours waiting and they havent even started my car yet. All the while people have been coming in and dropping off their cars and getting immediate service because they know someone at the desk.. I will be going to the Big-O a crossed the street from now one. This is incredibly irritating.

We and many people in this area always use Hillside Tire. They are totally trustworthy. At least twice over the last few years they have helped us identify a very small problem when it would have been easy to say it was something bigger. They have great customer service and we have never had a bad experience. I did once have a wierd issue after a repair and they took care of it... it was something that didnt end up quite right with the locking of the doors... I know it took some figuring out on their part, but they did it. Hillside Tire is the kind of Auto Repair shop everyone wishes they had, but most people never find. I know a lot of people who feel the same way I do about Hillside.

I got quality, fast service. Only complaints are price, which is probably about average, and trying to upsell me a bit too much. I really dont like paying $100 for an oil change though seems too high everywhere not just here.

I will not recommend the services of this dealer. I had a terrible experience both during the installation of the tires and also today when I had to go to the dealer to get the flat tire fixed.I purchased the tires from the good year website in September 2018. I talked to the good year representative before purchasing the tires and he told me specifically that Im eligible to get all the services such as tire-rotation and air check for free. However, when I went to this dealer, the gentleman told me in a very rude way that they will just put the tires and thats it. My business is done with them. They wont offer me any such services coz I purchased tires online. I was so confused as they are good year tires dealer and the company told me clearly that I should get these services.Today, I had a flat tire and I went to the shop again. He looked up my account and he told me the same thing again that I purchased the tires online and I should just talk to the company directly. He can put a new tire for $180 and thats pretty much it. I just talked to the company and they said that yes the repair wont be for free but the dealer should have called us to discuss the options and they could have issued a claim number. Now, they are giving me a 50% discount on a new tire.The dealer needs to understand that this is a digital age. Going forward, more customers will be ordering the tires from the web. He needs to take the time to listen and understand where the customer is coming from. He should learn how to respect and talk to customers and put himself in customer shoes.

Do yourself a favor and take your hard earned money and time to a better business that will treat you like they appreciate you as a customer. My experience with this particular establishment was horrible. After ordering the wrong tires, making me come in 3 different times, and still not getting my tires replaced, I went to Les Schwab. They got me right in (very close to the time they close) and changed my tires in 20 minutes, no hassle at all. I contacted the manager of hillside tire to let him know my experience and how I was treated by his employees, but never heard from him. I will NEVER go back for any reason and I suggest you save yourself the stress and do the same.

Hillside Tire and Auto on Fort Union took excellent care of us. After doing some repairs, a day later the A/C seized up and the car stopped working. In good faith Hillside took our car back (paid for the towing) and took on most of the burden of a new costly fix. They have provided excellent service for oil changes and tires ever since.
