Very convenient delivery service. I would recommend getting Instacart Express as it makes for priority delivery times extremely affordable. Most of my deliveries have been great, a few have been disappointing due to delivery person not communicating when picking out fresh fruits or avocado.

Second time using instacart and both experiences were subpar. This last time is a kicker, under special instructions on bagged spinach I asked please make sure its the freshest bag possible thank you this is what I got ... who in their right mind as a service-oriented fresh grocery delivery service would pick out and purchase for their customer a completely rotten and disgusting bag of produce? I also purchased flat leaf parsley with instructions to make sure it wasnt curly oh, and what did I get? Curley parsley. Exactly what I didnt ask for. What makes this experienced the worst ever is when I called customer service to get help I ended up staying on the phone for an hour and a half just trying to get a refund. Consumers beware. The $10 service charge the $5 tip and the hour and a half on the phone makes this so-called simple and time-saving alternative to actually going to the grocery store a huge failure if I could give zero Stars I would

My first time is going to be my last time with them. Basically a $9 additional charge if you want to get drinks of any kind laundry detergent as a heavy charge. Theres no reason why these companies cant make fair prices/Fees and treat us right but they choose not to because theyre greed is in control. Really unfortunate because it could be a mutually beneficial arrangement but they dont respect us enough to charge/treat us fairly.

I cannot get batches, i wonder when Instacart will start using CAPTCHA to accept orders so they can reduce the chances of 3rd party bot apps from stealing orders... It is odd that anything paying over $29 is gone faster than a blink of an eye (and no i am not waiting for a notification, i am actually looking directly at the available batches screen)

Dont try to get help from instacart. If your problem doesnt fit their narrow view of a problem on their drop down menu, too bad.They really are not interested in your shoppers mistake. So forget the list. It isnt read or followed. I am so disgusted with being unable to report my problem, Im looking for recommendations for other delivery services. I HATE to waste food. By ignoring my order I now have an item twice the size I ordered or need. It will spoil before I use all of it. But Ive paid more for something I do NOT want, need or ordered. Wheres your drop down menu for that?

I read a lot of negative comments about Instacart and I think everyone should read this comment before trying Instacart (again).Instacart’s shoppers/delivery people are NOT EMPLOYEES with benefits and steady workflow and/or pay. The shoppers are individuals who agree to do your grocery shopping for you, so you don’t have it.Face it most of y’all use the service because you don’t want to go to the store. Maybe some of you physically can’t go to the store however most of you use the service because you just don’t want to go to the store.You don’t want to deal with the driving and deal with the parking lot and deal with all the crowds at the store do you wanna deal with the long lines the loading the groceries the unloading the groceries dragging those heavy bottles of water all the way up three flights of stairs so you go and you contracted service to handle all the BS that you don’t want to do. Because of that it’s conscience, it’s going to cost you money. Same way that a gardener cost money to come out and mow your yard so you don’t have to. Same with a plumber cost money or your hairdresser cost money, they all charge a lot more for their services, yet most people don’t mind paying someone can fix their plumbing and or hair, yeah they seem to have a very difficult time grasping the concept of having to pay somebody to go to the grocery store to do the shopping for them into delivered to their house no matter how far or how inconvenient the delivery to the home is.It doesn’t make sense How so many people complain about the prices that are being charged however nobody wants to step up and start raising their tips.Before going in complaining about the fees and about the length of time it takes for your delivery and the quality of the items that are offered in the stores her only option is to be brought to you keep in mind that if you were going to the store yourself you don’t have any other options in the once your shopper has. How much is your time worth. I never write reviews but this service is such RIP OFF that I cant even find the words. Bought $75 worth of product, gave the shopper a gernerous $5 dollar tip, then found that they could only find two of the items that I ordered! So I ended up paying $20 for $8 dollars worth of product. There customer service line is a 90 MINUTE wait because obviously they do this to a lot of people. WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN!!!

Horrible service. They delivered wrong items and didnt take it back when I called and talked to customer service. They also refused to give a refund or to do anything that was helpful. I will never use this service again and I would suggest everyone to avoid it. There are a lot of other food delivery services that are much more reliable. Instacart is basically a scam!

The only reason this is one star is zero is not an option. This is an awful service. They substitute items with no logic at all and run up your bill. I waited on hold for 2.5 HOURS only to be told that I had to get refunds from the store. The store told me no refunds and I had to go through Instacart. What a mess. No matter how badly you need groceries, DO NOT use any store that has this as their shopping service.

Everything went well except they promised on the Kroger website that we would be contacted by phone that delivery was on its way. No phone call, and they just left groceries on front stoop without ringing doorbell or knocking. Very disappointed.

I have had the most frustrating experience. Couldnt check out, now I cant put in my card number. The service has been good other than their web site, which is just been a nightmare today, and I use Opera which is a great browser, and someone substituting a 16 dollar item for a 4 dollar one.

My daughter kindly ordered groceries for me from your company on 3/30/20. The person who delivered the groceries picked them up at Vons market. I found a number of items that were in poor condition such as a box of fresh strawberries with fungus, bruised bananas with one of them split opened and rotten, a cucumber that was rotten at one end, a large can of Bushs baked beans with big dents on the side and both ends. I am very disappointed with this experience and will not use your company again or recommend to friends.

YIKES! I used Instacart to try and reduce my exposure to COVID-19 and the hustle and bustle of the grocery store. I tipped well, I know how hard it is to work right now with the constant exposure. The driver delivered my order to the wrong house, (same house number, different street). It was the house of three elderly people, so they were put at greater risk due to this interaction. AND on top of it all, the app never updated live time to let me know the delivery was there, so it sat undetected for 2+ hours in the hot sun and ruined all my refrigeration items(which was most of the order). When I reached out to Instacart to make this right, they apologized but refused to take financial responsibility and offered me a $10 dollar credit for my next order. I told them they lost all future business from me, they did not fill a need; they created more chaos and then wouldnt make it right.

Instacart I know they may be overwhelmed right now, I get it. What I dont get is adding on fees that you dont until its time to pay for your order. They asked (texted me) if I needed to add anything to my order and that I could add it onto my existing order. The fees for that additional order was almost as much as my additional order. Also, they added about $13.00+ dollars to my order and held my acct for this amount until my order was filled. I should have been aware of all of that before I placed my order. I will not be ordering anymore from them. I will do curbside pick-up in the future. I hope the best for Instacart and hope they iron out their kinks.

I have used this service 3 times within the past 3 weeks and EACH time there has been issue, however todays order is absolutely unacceptable. I received someone elses order entirely and I am unable to contact the shopper named Jason nor will Instacarts customer service respond via chat and its been 90 minutes since the chat was started. I called the CS# only to hear a recording that they arent accepting calls at this time. I sent an email asking for assistance but no response.I have no idea where the items that I ordered are, no one has come to pick up the items that were delivered to my home. Im sure the person who ordered these items would like to have their order just as much as mine.Naturally they have a taken payment from my cc...take the money and lend no assistance. Poor poor business, terrible shoppers and customer service is non-existent!!!!

I definitely won’t use instacart ever again! The delivery person was good however the customer service was really bad! I wanted my original receipt and they told me customers are not allowed to keep receipts. I lost almost $100 worth of PC points because they wouldn’t give me the transaction number. Never again!!!!

As an instacart shopper for all the customers dont trust instacart, most of this shoppers dont even clean their hands and just pick products and go without looking at the Quiality and looking horrible the way the dress with nasty clothing very poor hygiene !!Also place a manager on each instacart in store shopping to manage and deactivate shoppers who dont follow rules and protocols.... most instacart skipping the instacart line to join the customer line or even joining instacart line without orders making the line long!! They need consequences for their actions !! And if your not willing to fix it I will report you to the department of health for lack of safety concerns !! Its that simple

Terrible customer service! Ive used them several times and suddenly, after spending an hour putting an order together, they immediately cancelled my order and I cant log in and Im blocked until I email them a picture of both my drivers license and credit card. Really? Ive used this card multiple times and suddenly theyre holding my order hostage? Seems scammy to have to send a pic of my license and credit card. Ill never use them again.

I ordered from Costco same day delivery and was assigned 7:50pm delivery. At 6:50pm Shopper Sinna P text met that she started shopping for my cart. 7:11pm She text me she was on her way to my house exstimated time of delivery 7:50pm. I waited 4 hours and never delivered. Text her several times and never returned. My account was charged for the total amount. I am filing a complaint with Intacart.Follow up with March 20 delivery review:After 4 plus hours to connect with Instacart customer service. They were nice to review all the texts I sent to Sinna P the shopper. The text show that she completed shopping and checked out at the counter and started to drive to my house with estimated time of 30 min. My account was charged and she turned off the tracking devise and never response to my text. Instacart said according to tracking devise, she never left Costco. It became very suspicious to me now. There is no unaccountably for shopper if/when they wanted to drive away other people grocery. There is report that shopper steal grocery. So, just beware, I got my refund back OK. But I dont know who is at loss now.

Horrible people!! Ive never used the service myself, but every time I go to Ralphs on Sunset Blvd. there they are and they give me the dirtiest looks. They have really bad energy. I dont know what it is about this company and the people they attract to work for them, but they would NEVER be allowed to touch my groceries and food that I will be eating. Yall need to be careful about these folks touching yall stuff with bad energy.

They show the sale price of an item when you order, but charge you full price because you cant use loyalty cards, etc. Also most of the stores listed charge higher prices, so beware. You end up paying $50-$75 more. I used the service when I was recuperating from a surgery, bur would not use them otherwise.

I ordered food for the first time through Instacart and I have had nothing but problems thus far. Im sick and am having trouble leaving the house, so I decided to give it a try instead of asking my neighbors. The food was ordered at 12 and was to be here by 1:30-2 which got postponed to 2:30-3. Having heard nothing from the company or anyone there, I decided to contact them. The delivery driver forgot my order and begged me to cancel so that she didnt get in trouble. It is now 4 and I have still yet to get anything. She is still asking me to cancel my order. This company needs a support line.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. ISNT A SERVICE AT ALL. Had a party with 100+ attendees last Saturday. Placed an order for 420 lbs of ice to be delivered for the bar. When I placed the order I had the option of ordering 20 lb bags of ice or multiple pack bags which consisted of (6) 7 lb bags. My order was for 10 of the multiple packs which were 42 lbs. that equaled 420 lbs. my order asked if I wanted to make a substitution if the 42 lbs bags were unavailable and Ispecified NO. I place my order 6 days in advance. This was my very first order with Instacart. My order was delivered at the very end of my hour delivery window. The ice was delivered in the truck of the shoppers car melting and water dripping everywhere. The delivery was for 10 bags of the 20 lb because he told me Sams Club was out of stock of the 42 lb bags. Now I only had 200 lbs of ice yet paid for 420 lbs. called and instacart customer service and was told the same thing and they would set up a delivery of additional 20 lb bags to getto the 420 lbs. Second delivery person shows up with additional 3 bags of ice REALLY! Now I had 260 lbs far from 420 lbs. called customer service again and now was told Sams club was completely out of ice. That call was ONE hour long all while trying to pull a party together. I called the local Sams club my self where the order was to come from and was told they had plenty of ice. Both the 20lb bags and 42lb bags. So instacart LIED TO ME. I then senta family member down to pick up the ice that we still needed. Originally all instacart was offering me was a $10 credit even thoI overpaid far more for the order of ice. Will never use again

This service has been a life saver for me and my mother. I was bedridden for over two months, and Instacart made it possible for my mother and I to eat. You really dont realize how much you depend on your feet until youre at horizontal bedrest by orders of your physician. On the most part, my orders were done correctly. During the few times they were messed up, Instacart corrected them immediately. I do appreciate the delivery folk to help bring our bags in. My mother has been treated very kindly by them. And if my mothers happy, Im happy. Thank you very much.

Im done using this app.The service charge is too high; often higher than my purchased items! Then they add an extra money hold on my account. I called to complain about the extra amount held i my account. The lady on the phone said its only a 24-48 hold but as she was talking, she realized my hold was now on its 3rd day. So she hung up the phone instead!

My order came after my delivery window. The delivery person did not have mask or gloves on . The groceries were everywhere in his car and not even in a box and he touched all of them without gloves. Ive received wrong items, my orders have been missing many items and my account has been compromised twice -- once after they said they removed all credit card info (which they did not do even though they told me they did). If you can avoid it, think twice about using this service.

If you use it its your loss. Full of unknown credit card authorizations and traps to charge $.1.Charged me 120$ on my credit card for another membership without any notice!!2.Massively inflated base prices and then an extra automative delivery charge for 10% tips. (pic1)3.Screwed up my order many times and charge 17$ many times and give unreasonable reason such as we cannot reach out to you by phone and thus charged you extra 17$! (proof pic 2)4. They credit you shopping mistake, but dont credit $ to your account on purpose. By the time I realize this credit didnt go to your account as they promised, they say this request of report mistake about credit should be made within 2 weeks. BEWARE! You will spend more time dealing with Instacart than it would have taken you to go to the store!! I have spent too much time and energy trying to get money back from overcharges (especially overused bags, i.e.. putting ONE item in a double bag - you have to pay $0.10 per bag in CA) and fighting with the service and their shoppers. The functionality and service has gone super downhill for the past 6 months and when I tried to cancel within days of my auto-renew, they have refused. My mother accidentally placed ONE order within days of the renewal (because she didnt know about the problems) which is their excuse for charging me $99 for 12 months of service that I will not use for 360 days out of the contract. All customer service does is send you canned e-mail answers and dont bother to actually read your messages. Just came to find out that the service fee (or something along those lines) that was on every order I had for the first 6 months or so was optional and I could have opted out although it did not appear to be an option and no one ever said you could. That fee is now gone, but I probably lost $100 over the span of that time.

INSTACART are SCAMMERS & THEIVES!!!BEWARE,. DO NOT.order from these horrible people! I ordered 11 items, it said I would receive$20 off first order. I was emptying my bags receipt was in there and showed some items were on sale the total was $45.24. Well upon checking my bank I saw they took out $85, I contacted customer service and they said they take out more just in case I change order before delivery and assured me they would adjust it and only take out $70.24 which makes no sense to me since receipt shows $45.24 thats $25 more!! I replied asking why and incuded a picture of receipt. They then told me they are sorry iwas given a receipt and that there are fees attached to grocery bill such as tax, tip drlivery fee and store mark ups if applicable!! Well I declined to tip on card and gave cash tip, plus i can see on receipt there were not any store mark ups so that leaves tax and delivery fee. So they are trying to tell me tax and delivery fee is $25????? That is insane, wrong, deceiving and out right robbery. And they did not give me the $20 off first order!For one thing it never showed during transaction that would take more just in case!!For another thing it never said they would add so much money in fees!!! Very deceptive company!! I can see now there is tons of horrible reviews against them I should have checked first. Lesson learned!If any of the people that have been scammed by instacart want to start a class action lawsuit with me let me know, if enough people pull together against them we can win.

I have had EVERY problem in the book with my order and customer service. I placed an order on Jan 28th for a client that i just closed a deal with. I live and work in San Diego, my client lives and works in San Francisco. I decided to send them 3 rare bottles of Japanese whiskey. I placed the order and had it shipped to his office, with a note saying Ask for William Price. The package was dropped off at the front desk instead. When he opened the package minutes later, it was the wrong bottles. They were not the Hibiki Harmony Limited Edition bottles that were for sale for $99.99 but rather the Hibiki Harmony Limited bottles that were for sale for $64.99. The bottles delivered were not the ones i ordered so i called to get the problem fixed. After a 50 minute phone call, i was told the correct bottles would be delivered and the incorrect bottles picked up. I got a message stating the bottles were out of order and asked if i would like the original bottles returned. I said yes, and never heard back nor were the bottles picked up. The next day, another 50 plus minute phone call and i was told that the bottles would be picked up for return, instead i get a message stating the bottles would be delivered. I heard nothing more from that. Yesterday i called again, another 45 minute phone call, and i was told that the bottles could not be returned but that i would get a refund of my money after speaking with a supervisor. I called again this morning to make sure the refund went through and i found out that there were NO notes on the account that i even called the day before. At this point i was becoming beyond frustrated. I asked for a supervisor again and was very clear that i expected my money back, i was told the best they could do was a credit to my account, wanting this so badly to end i agreed to a $321 credit to my Instacart account. I then placed an order for 12 bottles of whiskey my bar could use, and my credit card gets authorized for the total. So i once again call back, after 37 minutes, i find out that the credit cannot be used for alcohol, the original thing that i purchased. I told the supervisor i was only willing to accept one of two outcomes, 1. My credit allowing me to purchase the alcohol or 2. A full refund to my card. At this point i was ready to take legal action, i have spent over 5 hour (that is not an exaggeration, i have all the call logs. I was told by Ron (the supervisor who said only his first name, even though i asked for some sort of employee number for identification purposes), that my credit should be in my account in 5-7 days, in the amount of $321.00.This has been the most difficult dealing with customer service that i have ever had. I do not even know how to explain the frustration in being placed on 20+ minute holds, promised things that were complete fabrications and finding out that my phone calls were never even acknowledged as coming in.

This is a review from a full service shopper standpoint.Incident #1: Just now I had a shift 1pm-7pm and received NO orders, so I called shopper help and the guy I spoke to says theres doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the app or CONNECTIVITY etc…he tells me there must not be enough orders and apologizes….Not two minutes after hanging up with him I get a message to turn on my gps location, final notice… where was the first notice???!!! So I try calling shopper help once again and CONVENIENTLY they are unavailable to take my call etc…so I go through the live chat with them and the shopper help says my gps location is off and I need to turn it on….Okay? how do I do that….she cant give me a straight answer- we talk in circles and tells me shes going to leave a note on my account! OMG A NOTE?! Hold on to your socks! IF you get a FREAKING NOTE on your account! Praise be…THE NOTE DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR YOU. I give up. I deleted the app and I will never NEVER recommend it to anyone (anyone I like anyway). Stand some where with a sign and beg for money, it will save you the gas, wear & tear on your car, your time, save you the stress, mentally & physically, save your breath, save you from having to create a glass door acct just to leave a warning to any poor soul who is desperate enough to think this company is worth a hard working American.Incident #2: I was paid for the incorrect mileage. For some reason the app didnt pay me for the correct mileage and no one would help me to correct this. I spoke with shopper help, they left a note on my acct, I followed their directions to me and I made a dispute report etc etc and it was denied. Denied with no explanation.Incident #3: Customer sent me to a whole foods to pick up a pizza. Turn out they couldnt be bothered to pick up their own pizza let alone order it ahead of time. So the batch incentive was $3. The estimated time for the batch was 5 mins. Because I was supposed to be picking up/delivering a cooked pizza. I called shopper help and they agreed since I had to order the pizza which wouldnt be ready for another 40mins that the batch payment should be higher and they made a note on my account. God love them with their notes. This was not the case. I spent almost an hr on this 5min order and missed out on other potential earnings. I was never reimbursed by instacart for my time.Incident #4: A customer used his mothers acct to order himself groceries but didnt bother to change the delivery address to his own………Instacart blamed me for this because I was supposed to know that this woman who raised a lazy careless inconsiderate man was so wise to let such sorry excuse of a man use his mothers acct. I was also supposed to know that he moved out a month prior and has his own address outside of my shopper area…Instacart made me feel incompetent and terrible about a situation I had no control over!Incident #5: I accepted an order for Costco, once inside of Costco my app crashes…It wouldnt let me look at the shopping list…The batch disappeared at some point and it was looking for another but I knew I had a batch bc I accepted it and drove to Costco for it…I turned my phone off/on. When I looked into the app it showed the batch but still wouldnt let me look at the shopping list…AND THEN…a message popped up that if I didnt start the batch it would be removed and I would receive a reliability incident. So I contact shopper help and I told them the app has crashed etc…the lady seemed nice and ready to help. She removed the batch so that I can re-install the app and WONT receive a reliability incident… I re-installed the app. Everything seems to be working…..I hang up with her. I receive a message that I have received a reliability incident for not completing the batch -_____- dam. I shouldve had her leave a note on my acct.Bottom line. Shopper help is not there to help the shoppers. They are there to cover their own a**es. DONT DO IT.
