I was enormously impressed by the salesman. No pressure! No hustle! Just patience and the hours he spent finding just the right car. I could not have been more impressed or grateful.It would be wonderful if other dealerships employed the same approach to customers. But Im not optimistic.

Purchased from this dealership out of state on 7/31, today is 9/23 and I finally get to drive my car. Dara Sok either was unaware (which is not accepted for a salesmen selling to out of state customers) or did not tell me how difficult it is to register a vehicle out of state as they do not handle this process for out of state registrations. Of course as it was the last day of the month to meet quotas, why should he be honest? When it came to processing all my documents and signatures he was very quick and responsive. During the purchase he said how easy it is to register a vehicle out of state, so did the rest of the team, but in reality it took me 4 trips to the DMV, multiple calls, and nearly 2 months of waiting as my state requires a paper title to register the vehicle, while California is an electronic title state. Do not buy from this dealer if you want honesty, I called and emailed several times, not a single time I heard an apology, Dara did not email anything after papers were signed.The only 5/5 I can give is for the description of the vehicle. Would I buy a Volvo again? Yes. Would I buy from this dealership? Never.Even Volvo financial was extremely surprised (and apologized to me) that Dara sold me a car without communicating all the information necessary to register it in my state. I would not have purchased it if I knew it would take 2 months.Buy from these guys at your own risk, and dont expect honesty. Do all the research yourself.

Dara Sok my sales associate was knowledgeable, informative and patient with all my questions. Daras relaxed sales approach was exactly what I needed and hoped for in buying a car. I test drove 12 different brands before landing on the Volvo and I have to say Dara made the difference. The car sells itself but the flawless interaction was key. Kudos to Dara!

Fantastic dealership with a knowledgeable, friendly team. My husband and I leased a new XC60 last week, and the process from start to finish was a dream. Tex was super helpful getting us set up for a test drive and answering our questions. Diana took us though the process of finalizing the deal and somehow made filling out paperwork enjoyable and not stressful. I especially liked how you work with one consultant from beginning to end—no back-room manager tactics. Everything was up-front, clear, and transparent. I appreciated how they printed out payment options in a table format so we could easily make the best decision for our lifestyle. I’ve been to other dealerships where they rattle off numbers and you have to do the mental math, so I appreciated this little thing.If you live in the Bay Area and are in the market for a luxury car, I’d definitely recommend traveling to this dealership. The team is top-notch, and the dealership itself is brand new and so so beautiful. Definitely not a bad place to spend time if you’re in for service.

They are very short of staff. We test drive a Volvo XC40 P8, then sit down to wait for a quote since everyone busy. Sales guy comes over and says you can leave now which is a first in 40 years of car buying experiences. Court of Chaos. Finally we get a lease quote and it is so bad and completely opaque that we get quotes from 3 other dealers and guess what? We were not the problem - other quotes far more transparent.

After driving to Tiburon from Los Angeles, my wifes tire pressure light came on. I drove her XC60 over to Volvo Cars Marin without an appointment. Vic from service discovered all four tires were low on air and filled them to their proper pressure. He couldnt have been nicer. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Great service.

Inept and avoid if you can. I’ve bought a lot of new cars over the past 30 years from a lot of different dealerships (including another Volvo) and this one has some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.I went there for a special edition car only they had. I called them initially, arranged the sale, went there and all they had to do was process the paperwork. They didn’t even test drive it with me. At purchase they offered me a promotion that I spent 3 months following up about that they didn’t even know was not offered on my car. To make matters worse the salesperson would not return a text, cell or office call. They ignored me so long I had to go to the national customer service (never happened in any other dealership/brand). All they had to do was have enough knowledge to let me know it was not offered or just call me back.Afterwards, their first response was that I’d never even filled out the paperwork (so then how’d I know about the promotion?). Their knowledge is low, customer service is poor and follow up only happens if you go over their heads. Use any other dealership!

Went in expecting to lease an xc90 today , Helen , the sales rep was awesome! Things were so pleasant and she was so friendly , until her “sales manager” John Beltran came over to answer a question about the California clean vehicle rebate. He never looked us in the eye, seemed very put off , accused us of trying to cheat California out of tax money because I was asking if they could have California mail the rebate to me instead of subtracting the amount from the price of the car, as BMW did the last time we bought a phev. Very rude all around. I got up and said “he doesn’t seem to in to this” and started to leave. He responded “he probably thinks I’m rude or something , and he doesn’t have to ever do business here”. I confirmed that I did think he was being rude , and left.Car shopping can be rough, especially as a minority shopping for luxury suv. I’ve leased 3 in a row now. This is by far the worst I have ever been disrespected by a business, period. Stay away!

We had a great experience with Thomas Tex at Volvo Marin! We needed a new car during the shelter in place, and Tex was extremely helpful, informative, and accommodating. He quickly got back to us, provided pricing options, and was even happy to bring the car to our house to test drive due to the circumstances. Never did Tex push a sale - rather, he answered all of our questions directly and made us feel very comfortable. Id highly recommend working with Tex!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. They do not care about you or their service, they only care about money! I spent 21k on a used volvo, two years ago. I’ve put 10k miles on it, and still have 8k debt on it. Tried to trade in and they offered me 10k, with my debt that results in 2k. They took 90% of the value off! I tried to be reasonable, but they do not care about me at all and have even lied to me about my car! They overcharged me to begin with. I expressed my concerns, they don’t care to any degree. These guys are sleezebags that just want your cash! Also, every single one of their cars are scratched. They do not know how to take care of cars, be very careful with these guys, they will drain your pockets.

Service equals sales, probably a motto that Volvo Cars Marin should be living by. We have been Volvo owners for a while now. We bought both our latest cars at Volvo Cars Marin, and are currently in the market to replace our oldest Volvo with a new car. The one certainty now is that we will not be replacing it with another Volvo.We have watched the service become more and more difficult to deal with over the past couple of years. At one service last year Volvo rotated my tires, but didnt inform me that two of my tires were cupped. They then sent me on my way to spend an hour each way in my commute listening to the loudest droning noise one can listen to. When I then promptly brought it back in I was told that they were badly cupped and the tires needed to be replaced. So why did it take a second visit for someone to see this, are the techs not actually paying attention during a $1500 service?Then most recently I leave a voicemail and get no response for 2.5 days. I then drive in and talk to someone since apparently I am not getting a call back and am told that a problem with my car will not be covered under warranty. The logic? If the issue was with one door, it would be covered, but since its with four doors its considered my issue. This is a problem with the car, and should be covered under warranty. They are refusing which is wonderfully bad service.You now have not only lost future service for both our cars, but you have lost future sales from two previously loyal Volvo owners. Seems like a tough way to run a business.

My wife and I have been bringing our cars to Volvo Cars Marin Service regularly for more than 15 years. Bill Moakley have been the main service advisor for us all these years. He has been excellent and very knowledgeable to make sure our cars in perfect operating condition. He always gives us very accurate estimates, schedules workload performed on time and the parts department always has all the parts needed. For years we received a loaner car for every major repair and a courtesy shuttle for the minor work or service. Our cars are washed and vacuumed thoroughly every time.Our experiences with Volvo Cars Marin Service have been consistently exceptional thanks to Adrian Rodriguez, Service manager and his excellent and professional team! Their hard work is one of the reasons were loyal Volvo cars buyers.

If you want to see the best cars that most of us cannot afford, look no further. Volvos, Jaguars, and Land Rovers are parked here, one nicer than the other. I was just there for parts and certainly did not look like their usual clientele, but the staff were nevertheless very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Volvo Marine has helped get my family 2 cars already. Would like to do a special mention to Josh Salim. He has helped us with multiple cars for my family and we are extremely happy with the purchase. I dont usually write reviews but I felt like I should say something due to how helpful he was with us. He wasnt pushy, and he listened carefully to what we wanted. He came up with multiple options and what was really important to me was he gave us the option to choose with our decision. We were very comfortable and very respected with the way he treated us. He was also frank in terms of showing us what was the best option to buy the car that we wanted. In the end, all of this resulted in cars we love and are very satisfied with the purchase. He always checked back on us as well even months after the purchase to make sure we were ok and taken care of. I would extremely recommend Josh Salim as for someone to help with the purchase of a new or used car.

Kudos to Volvo Marin for their attention to detail and outstanding customer service.I purchased a New XC90 and the process was one of the best car buying experiences ever. My first Volvo and I would say not my last. Lilly and John Beltran were friendly and responded to every question. They never said anything that they did not know but got the correct answer promptly. Different than the I got all the answers car salesperson. These guys are honest and very nice. I had a great experience and they exceeded my expectations. They earned the 5 stars.

This is for the service department, not sales. The bottom protective casing of the car (like a big sheet of plastic / fiberglass noise insulator) had come undone on a road trip. We brought it in for repair, and Volvo (shares shop with Land Rover) doesn’t have loaner cars. Audi, VW, and lots of other dealer shops do in Marin, so having to get a Lyft to a rental car place was an inconvenience. The repair was supposed to take a few days but a part was back ordered (not their fault, I get). After a week, I went to pick it up and en route got a text saying “your vehicle is with our quality wash team.” That was a bonus, and I was looking forward to a clean car. I arrived, paid, and the dirty car was brought around. I hadn’t expected a wash, but the fact that they said it was getting one and then to NOT have that done was a letdown. The worst was the next morning- driving up a hill, I heard the unmistakable sound of the protective casing dragging on the freeway. My husband figured out they either hadn’t used the right screws or hadn’t tightened them, and on a hot day he drove to meet me, get under the car himself, and space out the 3 (of 5) remaining screws so I could drive back to the shop without further damage. Of course, the repair shop was closed both Saturday and Sunday, so we didn’t use the car the rest of the weekend. Volvo fixed it when I brought it in Monday, but I am considering trading in my car for a different brand simply because of the awful service. A friend has a Land Rover and she too has also said the service shop is terrible, makes mistakes that she has to return so they can re-fix and also doesn’t understand why they don’t provide loaner cars.

Originally, I had traveled to Volvo Marin for a different vehicle entirely. I traveled an hour to Marin because I had been pleased with the service I had received thus far while searching for the right vehicle. After test driving the intended vehicle, I had reservations due to the price and quality. I began to have the thought process that I would be better off buying new, and the Volvo caught my eye. The salesperson was initially patient during the experience. After I test drove the Volvo, I knew that was the vehicle I wanted. After going through the process, I was handed the keys, and that was it, the salesperson walked away. No introduction to the new vehicle, I was left in the parking lot to discover things on my own. I got into my new $40,000 vehicle and was not only disappointed with the handoff but had absolutely no idea where anything was in the vehicle. The discomfort was anxiety provoking, and the first drive in my new Volvo almost resulted in an accident. I wish the experience had been better. I fully expected a warmer introduction into my brand-new Volvo. Instead, I was given a cold hand off. Disappointing. Very disappointing.

I can’t say enough about the service I have received today from #volvocarsmarin My new Volvo malfunctioned on the Golden Gate Bridge and stalled last Saturday. I took it in to Volvo of Marin as it is the closest to me. They assessed and didn’t have an immediate fix as it was a new issue that surfaced. The tech line in Sweden would not have a fix for many weeks. I was nervous because I live in the country and have to drive on country roads when I leave town and there aren’t any service stations etc.Service Advisor Bill Moakley and Volvo Service Admin Yolanda were kind and helpful to get me into a temp loaner immediately.A couple of days later...The service manager Adrian after hearing about the diagnosis took immediate action and said he would work to buy my car back with the finance manager Michael Peter and put me in touch with John Beltran the sales manager. They made me feel that their priority was to keep me safe. They made it easy for me and then the gentleman sales consultant Jesus Maldonado was impeccable with his knowledge and ease with answering all my questions on the new vehicle and was a pleasure to work with.Additionally I’d like to acknowledge the team in Burlingame where I bought the first Volvo originally. General manager Mike Krewer was wonderful and easy to work with as was Cartier the finance manager. My friend Lisa the Controller for Putnam recommended Mike when I was looking for a new vehicle in October of 2017.I just wanted to say thank you to Volvo for the incredible staff, the amazing customer service that seems hard to come by these days and working with me for a happy resolution. I now feel safe and happy with my new xc90.
