Looks legit as far as donut stores go, and the iced sugar cookies are the perfect middle-of-the-road texture - not too hard, not too chewy, not Lofthouse soft, just right! The icing even tastes a bit like donut glaze, thats new.

I enjoy the donut here it is so extra delicious. Very a nice persons who operate the counter for the service of all patrons. Now if they make Fortune cookie it would be perfect.

Generally I really love this place. They have great donuts and love supporting local businesses, however today when I drove up the cashier didnt have her mask on and only put it on as I was driving up also I could see in the shop that others in the back were not wearing a mask. Really disappointing this pandemic shouldnt be a controversial issue on doing your best to protect your customers. Ill just have to take my business else where. Best wishes to you and stay healthy.

I just moved to Corpus Christi from alabama. In alabama when we wanted donuts wed go to krispy kreme and wait for the hot sign! Loved it. I was saddened when i moved to Corpus and realized there was no crispy creme. The first placed i tried was dunkin, then tried shipleys. All of the donuts at these places were bland and very dry! Im used to fluffy massive donuts that are moist and flavorful. I spent quite some time on yelp looking a reviews for highly rated places and found this donut shop. Listen, my expectations at this point were LOW. id been to so many highly rated places only to end up confused as to how they got their ratings so high. Gates donut shop did not disappoint me. They had so many varieties of donuts to chose from. I loved the braided glazed one and the maple donut with a slice of bacon on it!!! Omg so so so good! I didn’t expect it but this place was a breath of fresh air to me. I had become so used to the constant disappointment of seemingly everything in Corpus Christi...but this place gave me hope. A light at the end of the tunnel. I hate Corpus Christi with a passion but i LOVE this place.

If I could give this establishment -5 stars thats what I would rate it. I went early and specifically asked for burn my mouth, fresh out of the grease HOT donuts. I saw the fryer drop some into the grease... the donuts I was given were already in the glaze. They were warm at best, then the fryer and server both started arguing with me about it. I have purchased from them before and had been given actual hot donuts... this did not qualify as hot... very disappointed by the food AND especially the poor and rude service... 2 thumbs WAY, WAY down!

Light and fluffy donuts. If you go early they are still warm. Hands down better than any large donut chain. You wont walk away with a stomach ache from all the preservatives in chain/grocery stores.

Better than Dunkin or Krispy Kreme, but IDK why they had lines waiting both at the drive through and the front window. This was the first doughnut Id had in over a year, and Im like... Its a doughnut.They were sold out of a LOT of varieties by the time i got there. Perhaps if i had gotten there when they open and gotten my preference of a cinnamon roll instead of a glazed twist, i wouldve been more impressed.

Dont pay attention to the people complaining that the donuts arent hot, mushy messes! Bleh! This place is fantastic and serves amazing, old fashioned donuts you cant find anywhere else anymore.
