They don’t know how to remove the rear tire on an electric bike. They’re a bike shop, so I’m a little surprised. But they get points for admitting it quickly, so we didn’t have to spend much time waiting. So, three stars.Hey, saw your response, so cool that you’ve changed your mind and want to try to change the inner tube. But it’s not necessary. Bought an inner tube at Dick’s, watched an 11 minute how-to video on YouTube, and fixed the bike myself.Sorry I missed out on your “special” repair rate though.

I took my bike in to get thr chain replaced. All they did was tell me how many things were wrong. They tried to charge me $30.00 for15 minutes. Then some bald guy try to tell me that my bike had been there for over an hour. BS!. he wasnt even there when I got there, plus he was not wearing a mask when everyone else was. Be aware

So very pleased with this shop!! Were vacationing in the Corpus area and the back brake on my bike wasnt working. Theyre hydrologic brakes, so we couldnt fix it on our own. We found Bay Area Bicycles and took the bike in yesterday. Very friendly staff!! He let me know that my chain could stand to be replaced as well. They said it would be done on Saturday. Well today (Thursday) they texted to let me know it was done. Amazing service!Thank you Bay Area Bicycles for getting my bike back in working order so quickly! I really appreciate it!

My husband and I both recently bought bikes. The staff was attentive and helped us find the bikes to fit our needs. Neither of us had ridden a bike in over 20 years, but they were patient with our questions. The owner even made a visit to our home to make some necessary adjustments after the initial ride. We highly recommend them and will use them for all of our cycling needs.

I took my step sons bike to have assembled.When Josh was complete with the bike assembly I went to pick it up with the child and all Josh could do was tell us how much the bike was trash. In front of the kid mind you. Rather than be professionalI really feel like all they do is try to sell you there expensive junk. Please find somewhere else to take your bikes.

Im from out of town and had a flat on my bicycle. Called the shop and asked them if they could fix the tire and they said come on down and had it fixed within 5 minutes. great staff great store good selection of bikes despite covid.

I called the shop about the issue with my derailleur. Brought in the bike and had a quick assessment of the simple fix needed. I asked whether there was a need for further adjustments and there was no need for more services.The work was done well before the expected time so I could pick it up early. Found a friendly attitude at the store.

These guys have been great to me. I am physically challenged and ride a tadpole recumbent trike. They are knowledgeable with recumbents. They are always welcoming and treat me as a person, not just another number. They are open more often than other shops. They are not stingy with their time, knowledge or kindness. I take my trikes there because of the staff, their ability and availability.

First visit, won’t be my last. Answered all my questions, were very helpful. Did the work in a timely manner. Will definitely be a return customer. Highly Recommend!!

So I am one of those fools that rides a bicycle to work. I get up in the dark and peddle across town then return home past 4 major school zones taking my life in my hands daily.Not only do I buy my equipment from Bay Area Bicycles but I trust my bike to Josh and Josh alone. I put my life in his hands daily and the maintenance of my bike is the ONLY thing I dont worry about when I am in the saddle.The shop use to have a beautiful dog that would come and cuddle when you called and I miss her dearly but try scratching JR or Josh’s beards almost makes up for her (NOT)

These guys are amazing! I went to the other bike shop, and was told my bike was not repairable after a week in the shop. I brought it to Bay Area Bicycle and they fixed it in 20 minutes. This is the second time they have done the “impossible” for me. There’s only one shop in Corpus to trust! Kudos Guys!

These guys are awesome, i went in and immediately felt at home, John helped me find the bike i needed, and was super nice! I had some really tight requirements for the bike i wanted and they were able to help me out, i got what i wanted, it was an absolutely painless process, and after i bought the bike they even installed the accessories that i had purchased for free!

Went into Bay Area to look and price a new bike for myself. I was immediately greeted by a salesman (Josh), who was very helpful and informative. He answered all my questions and found a bike that I absolutely love. The price was great and the staff was very helpful.

I bought my first real bike at this shop after just one test ride and theyve been helpful ever since. The staff is very nice and every time I visit I get useful advice and recommendations and even a couple free samples of nutrition supplements to try out. You can find some products on-line with cheaper prices but you wont get the same customer service that this place offers. The owner is very active with-in the community and Ive joined them a couple times on charity rides and had a good time. Great bike shop!

They put together a complicated, large Dutch electric assist cargo bike very quickly, and went over all the details to make sure it rode smoothly. Went in not knowing anything about bikes other than riding them as a kid and heavily modifying them into a monster low rider style. I was very pleased and satisfied with the customer service. I brought in a classic vintage Schwinn Road Bike that was damaged from a car accident and they were happy to order the necessary parts to restore it back to its riding condition. The bike rep, Junior, was very helpful with the whole process and had the bike ready within a few days. Overall, I recommend Bay Area over the Pedal.

I moved to Corpus Christi in the spring of 2011 and I am a proud owner of a Street Strider.It is a unique vehicle that is great to ride and can be a small challenge to work on. Prior to moving to CC I did all the upkeep including assembling it at initial purchase. Not only do they do a GREAT job keeping it in tune for me they are glad to see me when I bring my Street Strider in for repairs or tune ups. The tires are very hard to source and they have helped me upgrade to a tire that is very difficult to puncture and provides a very good feel. As long as they exist I will be a customer!Mark R. Biked around Corpus Christi for the Memorial Day weekend. Was having some shifting issues, and stopped by to get this serviced. Staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and fixed my shifting issue (cable tension).

Solid shop, solid service, solid knowledge, solid help, solid mechanics. I bought a solid hardtail and have spent the better part of the year swapping out everything to my specs from tires, bars, pedals, drive train, and all the mechanics and Josh has been a big help with guidance as I get ready to start mtb racing. By far the best dudes around to even just talk to about stuff.

Great little local bike shop. Purchased a nice Trek and had it professionally fitted by Aaron, who really knows his stuff about bikes and the mechanics of a proper fitment and adjustment. Learned a ton about body positions and how to get the most out of the bike. My girlfriend loved it so much she purchased the female version of the bike soon after, with similar good service. As someone opined on Yelp, yes they do load the bike up with accessories (lights, bottle cage, pouch, etc, common sales tactic I think), so if you just want the bare bike (some of us have collected those accessories from one bike or another), you just have to ask them to remove it all. Some of their accessory prices are competitive, and some you can get for cheaper on Amazon. As for the bike and large components, theyre very competitive, buying local helps. They also offer 10% off accessories for military, cant beat that. Oh yeah, Bell the weimaraner is a nice welcome if you catch her on one of her workdays.

Some of these guys are kinda jerks, but they stock and order Electea bikes, since Trek bought Electra and all. If you like Townies Id reccomend ordering the EQ model, they only stock Ds.Additionally, when I custom ordered a bike they took it upon themselves to stick their company logo onto the frame when they charge restocking fees.. ask next time before you deface somes bike. When asked about the restocking(prior to ordering, I love the bike). Was told its your bike, not our bike.Keep you logos of bikes that arnt yours.

First time here and it was just an OK experience. I usually go out of my way to support local bike shops so I may still come back here but only because its one of only two LBS in Corpus. i.e. Ill probably check their competitor first, since I had a better experience over there.So.... I was pleased with the initial warm welcome and with the product I purchased. Not a lot of interaction required since I knew specifically what, a 9 speed chain, didnt care what brand. Incidentally, KMCs the only brand they carry but luckily for me, thats the brand of chain I prefer if given a choice. If one is looking for a higher end brand, best shop at the other place in town. The other things I like is that this place serves more than just the road and MTB crowd; theyve got a good selection of comfort bikes, commuter bikes, bike path bikes, and kids bikes and that they support the local cycling community.What I was not pleased with was the staffs less than helpful response (immediately after checkout) when I asked if they had any tips or advice specific to installing/removing the master link if I dont have the master link tool. The cashiers response was Your best bet is to check YouTube which pretty much made me regret ever stepping in there. Seriously?..... one of the reasons one goes to a LBS is to receive personal service and, for us aspiring home wrenchers, some friendly tips and advice. Sure I can Google and YouTube, I have and I will, but if I make the effort to spend my money at a local shop and then in turn get brushed off like that, Im better off order everything from Amazon.Anyway.... rant over. I wish the best of luck to you, Bay Area Bicycles.

I called Bay Area Bicycles to see if they would sell a high end exercise on consignment that I have and the person I talked with laughed at my question, said No and hung up on me It was a very unprofessional response. This is the reason why I do no patron local businesses in Corpus Christi. I order from Amazon or I make the drive to San Antonio.

Very dissappointed. I was ready to look at products and make a purchase and was never greeted by anyone in the store. I walked around for a few minutes and was never approached by an employee. The store was not that busy. I left the store after walking around for over five minutes unnoticed. I still dont think they noticed me leave either. I immediately left this store and went straight to another bike shop to make my purchaces. Good location, I assume the products are good, bad customer service.

Maintenance was done professionally and bike was delivered on time. However, the technician tried to convince me that I needed to replace my crankset because the teeth were worn. Fortunately, I have experience working in a bike store (and on my own car) and I was able to point out that the teeth were in excellent shape. Really, really dislike when someone tries to upsell me a service that I dont need bc they think Im a dumb blonde. Shame on them... and caveat emptor.
