Today (7/14/2017) I had the owner of this company come to my house to give an estimate on putting an awning on our back porch. First, the evening before my husband spoke to the owner on the phone. He had told my husband he would be at our house sometime before noon. As I was going to be the one home, I called the owner back to ask for a time window a little less open. He chuckled at me and said what do you want an exact time. I explained to him that as I had somewhere to be in the morning I needed a tighter time window. He finally gave me a window between 10am-12pm. The following morning the owner called to let me know he was about a half hour out from my house. When he arrived at our gated community (which my husband had explained to him on the phone the previous evening) he did not know how to work the directory that allows guest to be buzzed in. He phoned me from his cell phone and I explained in detail how the directory worked. He was unable to work the directory and waited for another car to come to the gate. When he arrived at my front door, he introduced himself, walked into my home, and told me our name was not on the directory( our name is on the directory as I had just buzzed in the carpet cleaners who were to our house on Tuesday). I told himOK and he immediately became frustrated telling me that he did not appreciate coming all this way and not being given the correct information. I had heard my husband on the phone with him the evening before giving him not only our name, address, phone number, that we live in a gated community, but also directions to our house. At this time I thanked him for taking the time to come out to our house, but that we were done here. He promptly turned around, walked out of my house, slamming the door behind him. This whole incident was very upsetting and frightening as I was alone with this man inside my home. Also, I am certainly not accustomed to being treated in such an unprofessional manner by an owner of a company with whom I am thinking of hiring to do work at my home. I thought I was the customer, let alone a person who does not need to be treat rudely and in an aggressive manner inside my own home. I have dealt with many contractors and workers who have worked inside and outside of my homes over the years and have NEVER experienced anything to this degree.
