Family came in to visit so we were going around at different hobby/game stores. Most required masks and masks were provided, very friendly. Tabletop was our last and final stop. Didn’t even make it through the door and was rudely greeted to leave. Our masks were in our hands about to go to our face and some lady runs up throwing hand gestures telling us to leave. So we obliged and turned around and will never go back. Supported every business we stopped at but will not waste a single penny or time on this place, which is a shame.

A great places to meet up with friends or game foe! Come alone, theres an open game for you. The food, drinks and service is awesome! One of my fav places as a game enthusiast. Ive learned how to play from very welcoming patrons. Be open and friendly, you will get same in return. Good luck!

I came here to print some documents, do EMT homework, and get a coffee. This place is so relaxing with lofi music and a comfortably lit atmosphere that i actually got my work done without wanting to cry. The service was so welcoming, this drink is extraordinary, and i look forward to coming back with friends who will play DnD. Great job, guys!

I would have loved to rate this higher. I love the concept of being able to play board games and eating at the same place. Problem was the menu was very limited. I ended up getting a pizza bagel, a bottled soda, and some chips. The bagel was messy and greasy - maybe not the best thing to pair with a board game.I would love to see more food options.

Just reserved Table top cafe for a birthday party and it was amazing!Highly recommend as both a fun hang-out spot and as a place for future parties or gatherings!I have always enjoyed going here to hang out and play board games with friends, while drinking coffee and beer! The food and drinks are delicious and affordable! Great game selection too! The staff always gives helpful gaming suggestions and even help with rules for games.We had a party there this past week. We had 30+ people who were able to social distance very easily and the place can easily fit more than twice that number. The staff was amazing and super accommodating! The snack-spread they offered for guests was perfect!

Good food, decent drinks, and lots of games on tap. Hard to argue a better casual venue for its central location and friendly staff. The only drawbacks it has are that they dont sell many games and they recently started charging 5$ on top of food and drink where it used to just be the latter as long as those costs were at least 5$.The only other real drawback to the cafe is that, while it *does* have a lot of tables, the booths feel like they dont offer much table *space* and the larger tables are few and often taken.Like many stores, youre best served by bringing your own group to play with but unlike many stores, its not usually *too* hard to find random people to play something with if youre willing to put yourself out there for it (and suppress your social anxieties/awkwardness). Also unlike many game stores, this one can double as a decent place to bring a date and, on fact, actually hosts a regular Gaymer meetup which Im 85% sure is a social mixer event but I forget.But really, this is a GREAT place to try some new games for cheap and maybe meet some new friends. Once I even got to play test somebodys homemade game that they printed themselves! Cool stuff.

A fun place to hang out with friends and play board games. They have a wide assortment of games to play, from quick ones like Connect 4 to the kind that last for hours. The selection of food on the menu isnt nearly as expansive as the games, but good enough for a snack or a modest meal unless maybe youre super picky or have multiple significant dietary restrictions — not that I really analyzed the menu with that in mind. An interesting variety of beverages is available, with and without alcohol, including ginger beer, root beer, cheerwine, la croix, chai latte, and good old water. The modest cover charge is reasonable, and cheaper than admission to a new movie; the food and drinks are arguably a better value than movie concessions, too. The staff is friendly and chill with LGBTQIA+ folks.

A great place to grab a bite and play games all afternoon/evening. You only have to pay $6 (just buy a coffee and a snack and youre good to go) and you can play as many games as you want for as long as you want. The employees are always super friendly too. Definitely stop in when you get the chance!

This place is incredible. They have amazing empanadas, coffee, staff, and game selection. They even have a game store section, too. Theres a kid area for toddlers and younger children, as well as a lot of fun kid games. There are tons of kid friendly foodstuffs as well, including juice boxes and paddles of candies and snacks. They put an incredibly unique spin on cafe/library, providing an amazing atmosphere that breeds friendships. The staff is willing to help you learn and play games, as well as find you other people to play with if you need more players. I would recommend this place to anyone of any age, as long as theyre up for awesome games, people, and empanadas!

Aways love going here. Usally every time I come there is a memorable experience. My only thing is I wish that for the regulars there was a monthly or yearly fee I could pay that would allow me to not pay the cover fee every time. Which trust me I have no issue doing at all. Its just sometimes you have the money and others you dont so on those tight pinch days it would be nice to be covered by a monthly payment. But other than that this place and the amazing people who work here will aways hold a place in my heart ♥️

This place is very well-organized with a color coded system for the types of games and number of players. The staff are very helpful and I have enjoyed conversing with them every time I’ve been. I love the snacks they have, too! The hummus platter is a ton of food (definitely for sharing) and the snack flight is a great way to try different things. Decent drink selection, excellent dirty chai lattes.

Excellent game cafe. It doesnt look like much from the outside but inside is a great space with a variety of tables, staff who help.you with new games, and a good variety of snacks and drinks.

Super helpful and friendly staff. I miss spending Tuesdays here horribly, but they have a nice subscription program to check out games over the pandemic.

This is one of my favorite places to go with roommates, friends, or a date and Ive been frequenting it for years now. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable when it comes to service and their board game recommendations are tailored to your interests and group size. They have a large selection of games to choose from their library and you will leave each time swearing that what you just played was your favorite game, until you have just as much fun with a new recommendation next time.Their cover charge to play is very reasonable (and if you buy one of their tasty snacks, sandwiches, or drinks it will count as the cover charge) and they have a wide variety of games to purchase and bring home if you like. They even have a game rental service if you prefer to try them out at home and swap them out without committing to purchasing a new game at full price.They are rarely crowded and have taken good measures of sanitizing surfaces/games and spacing groups to ensure the safety of their guests during the covid pandemic.My lone critique is their very limited parking which can be remedied by parking across or down the street. The extra minute or two of walking is easily worth the visit.Please give their business a shot, even if you arent the boardgame type. Youll find something new to enjoy, have a great night with company, and contribute to keeping a worthwhile local establishment open during a time when people are going out less.I cannot give them a higher recommendation and you wont regret time spent here.

I went for the first time last night with a bunch of coworkers. Learned how to play a new game, Codenames. I had the Black Widow Cider that they had on tap. Most of the food they have is on the snack side. I ordered the spinach and cheese empanadas. They were scrumptious and piping hot. I was pleased to see they were not fried. Staff was friendly and helpful. The main space as well as the bathroom was clean. Parking is limited but is available in the front and the back of the building.

Visiting from out of town and we tend to look for board game stores. This store/cafe was highly recommended to us and I can see why. Their game library is fairly extensive, the food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. They offer a variety of beverages and the store rules are fair. There were a few board games for sale, but the experience was just amazing overall. Wish we had one in our city

Tabletop is a well lit, well stocked get cafe. Always clean and relatively quiet, offering many games, delicious food, and refreshing beverages. I appreciate their policy that you can use their games by purchasing $6 worth of food or merchandise instead of charging a library fee. Great place for a date or fun with friends!

Gluten free friendly drinks! Had a great first visit with my friends. Excellent game selection for in-house play. Will definitely be returning to play again. Great beer selection even for gluten free clientele. Hope they get more gluten friendly foods on the menu, because they only have one or two food items to choose from.

Great place with great management! Its helpful there is no admission, and that you just need to spend 5 bucks on food.The sandwiches are amazing. I think i had the chicken melt and it was awesome. They also have a few choice craft beers, which is preferable to an overwhelming selection. I prefer this place over kingmakers any day.

Nice idea for a business! They have so many great games, and tables to play on, food and beverages, candy, and a fun atmosphere. Its a great place to spend time with colleagues and friends or family, and they have a game for any age and interest, it seems. The only drawback is the parking. Its hard to find a space, the front gets parked up quickly, and in downtown Clintonville, parking is at a premium. But its worth the time when you do find a place!

This place is awesome! Huge selection of games of course and staff is knowledgeable, they taught us how to play one. Menu has the perfect range to let you stay and keep playing but not to become a restaurant. It can become a little crowded so if youre introverted choose a day when events arent scheduled.

Almost always busy in the evenings nowadays, Tabletop is a great place to try out the hobby board game craze if youre new to it. Or a good destination for regular gamers who want a night out. Parking can be a bit tricky. Really, theyve grown enough to need a bigger space already, which is a good sign.

I was always able to get help in relatively short order when I wanted it, the staff has never failed to be nice and approachable. Its a comfortable place with a fairly decent selection. Well done.

I LOVE the Tabletop Game Cafe! Spending a minimal amount on food/drinks gets you access to their game library, from which you can play whatever you like. Their collection of games is well curated and up to date. The cafe style food is excellent, and they always have good brews on tap! The atmosphere is friendly, casual and fun and the staff is always able to answer questions or provide recommendations.

We had been hesitant for a while to take our kids to this place because I wasnt sure how long gaming would hold my youngest ones attention. My older daughter loves playing and I bet we could spend an entire afternoon there with her. We found that they have games for all ages, even the little ones, so all of us found games we really liked, even my 5 year-old!

I definitely have to go again, I mean this place was great from in house games they provide, if u want to bring ur own, to drink and food selection. If u love any type of board/card games and you want to chill,play and eat this is the place....

Super great staff who are very friendly and willing to help show you the ropes if youve never been there, but equally willing to give suggestions to folks who are veterans to the boardgame scene like me and my friends. Food and drinks were great, the atmosphere is very welcoming, and they have a wide variety of games for people of all ages and experience levels to play, either against your friends or in cooperation with your friends to win. Definitely an awesome place to spend several hours, and you cant beat a $6 fee to sit down and play all evening.

Love coming with friends. They have little snacks and good beers to drink. I love trying out new games. They have people to teach you games it is casual and comfortable. Since they have their own foods you cant bring your own so a bigger menu would be appreciated.

So much fun! At first I was turned off by the $6 purchase minimum but everything was so so tasty! I highly recommend the apple empanadas and black widow cider. The staff was friendly and helpful. The game selection is awesome and in good condition. On a Tuesday night we were able to find space for 7 no problem.

Cafe is very spacious. Plan to stay for 1.5 to 2 hours at least to play a decent rounds of games. My only complaint is that I wish they had a bigger variety of drinks and but bigger portion of snacks. For 3 bucks you will get a barely handful amount of nuts or pretzels.

Nice small bites to eat and a decent drink selection. Buying just one drink is enough to bypass having to pay a cover, which is nice. There are a lot of games to choose from and the tables are nice and large to allow room for food, drinks, and games. The only complaint I have is how busy it gets on weekend evenings. If you arrive too late you might not find an open table!

We had a great time at Tabletop Game Cafe tonight. My family and I spent almost 3 hours there, and the time just flew by. The staff who worked there were very friendly and helpful, and it was a great way to spend an evening for us. Our ages ranged from 8 to 40, and we all had a blast!

Nice spot with a great library of games. Its nice that the cover charge can be spent on things like coffee, teas, beer, and snacks instead of just a house fee plus purchase drinks (like Kingmakers). Clean, pretty comfortable. The one thing that I do really appreciate from Kingmakers that wasnt present here (and is worth their house fee) is the concierge setup assistance that helps you get started with a new game so you dont have to try to learn it from scratch and just hope that youre interpreting the rules correctly. The Tabletop staff was really friendly and energetic in general, however.

My husband and I enjoyed the coffee... we are both long time fan of the Staufs Coffee that is served thereFurther, the staff keep their espresso machine very clean & prepare it well. However, the food and snacks could use some work to take the experience to the next level. Overall, good for a fun night out with friends; providing that gaming is your thing.

I went for the first time yesterday and it was a great experience! The staff was very nice and helpful, there were so many different board games (including ones that Id been drooling over for ages), and there were lots of tables to play on. The atmosphere was very casual and welcoming and the drinks and snacks were great to have too. I cant wait to go back again! Highly recommend.

Tabletop is a great place to play some games! They have a good selection of board games which they conveniently make available online. The staff is extremely courteous without being in the way of playing your games. There is a surprising amount of space which is really nice because you dont feel cramped. Its also very clean!There is a $6 minimum charge, but this is different than the cover fee of other board game places have, where you pay just to get in.

This is a great place to bring your whole family. I took my wife and 9-year old son, none of us being experienced gamers. The food, snacks, and drinks cater to all ages and tastes. The staff are very friendly. Oh, and the games are fun. We all had an excellent time and will most definitely be coming back.

The cover charge was about the cost of a drink which was nice compared to some other board game bars. Their selection was just about any game you could want and the staff was helpful and attentive.

I love Tabletop! If you enjoy boardgames, this is definitely the place to go. Great drink & snack selection along with any type of game you could want to try. If you dont know how to play a game, you can ask the staff for help and they will guide you through it (saving time from reading some of the lengthier instruction manuals). (Additional note: While the food is delicious, dont expect to get a meal here. More snack size/appetizer. Not a problem, just more of a keep in mind if you plan to go around meal time as we always seem to do!)

I was just stopping in between my jobs for a quick bite and didnt realize what exactly it all entailed. But I was beyond please with my experience. I debated going some place else for food as I did not have anyone with me and would not be playing any games, but that did not matter. The staff instantly made me feel welcome and that I was okay to be alone. The food was good and they have such a different variety of drinks, which is a nice change up. They made me feel like I was apart of something even though I kept to myself the whole time. I was on my laptop and needed to find an outlet and shortly after I started looking they offered me a clean booth with electric. Thank you, I will definitely be back... maybe even with some friends this time!
