I came to McMahon truck service to get my Volvo 670 fixed due to derate and dash signs and diagnostics. I was immediately assisted by the service supervisor Josh and Scott on Monday and was ready to go before the weekend. I had a load and time was a factor and this branch was thorough and price was fair. I really thank the staff like Hanna and Tasha and a special thanks to technician Ryan for finding my chamber leak for me. I definitely recommend this place and tell them Gus sent you. Ive been taking my 2016 780 here fairly exclusively for three years. Many times in this industry, we get more of an attitude that were in the way, rather than a paying customer. You wont find that at Mcmahon Volvo. They are very customer focused. Their staff is knowledgeable and take the time to explain exactly what is wrong, why it matters, and the cost related to the repair as best as they can, right up front. I like to think I verify as best as I can, and have never felt like I was being taken advantage of. Their service department is precisely why I will keep purchasing Volvo in the future.

Just be clear about your truck needs and how much time you can spare, and they will work with you accordingly.

Paid 1300$ for replace battery and diagnostics. Job is not complete. Didn’t notify me about waiting time. Over the phone I asked for replace the battery. I don’t know why mechanics checked and diagnosed the dead battery.

It is terrible place if you are trying to order parts! It is going to be faster to do it at any other place around Ohio and drive there.

Scam. Dishonest people. One of our trucks was in derate, took it there to for them to clear the code. We were told to change bunch of sensors, because they werent able to clear the code. After the first estimate, they told us truck wouldnt regen, and we need to change few more parts, parts that are in no way related to truck being in derate, such as air filter. We were told truck was running for 4 hours, and wouldnt get to right temp. When driver went there, and asked them to see the truck, and try to fire it up, truck batteries were dead. Remind you they told us that truck has been running all morning, and they couldnt get it to regen. Also when the truck was started, there was no derate issue, which they were telling us truck was still in derate mode and we had to replace all the parts they told us

I have never seen one truck theyve fixed in my life, just calling each five hour with new estimation. I am wondering are they hiring some random guys because they dont look professional, I swear god those service guys dont know nothing about trucking.

Worse experience ever. 1st they’ve had my tractor for a full wk. over a DPF. Gave be a confusing quote on the work that read. DPF needed cleaned or replaced. With a $2,300 tab. $1,200 of that being for parts on CLEANING or REPLACING. But no matter how many times I asked. They couldn’t explain he it was the same price and parts for either of the two things. That might need done. Then 4 days into the process of figuring out which one would need done. They informed me. that it would be an additional $2,000 because the DPF was bad and needed replaced. That when I got my warranty company involve. Once they got involved the DPF was no longer bad. It was. Again I quote, just not good either. I’ve been lied to about the status of my tractor. What does and doesn’t need done, on with my tractor. A different story every time. At this point I know I’m being robbed. I just want my tractor back. Seems as either they don’t know what they’re doing. Or they know what they’re doing is wrong. One week to get a service check engine light off.

They want if possible to change every parts good or bad they dont care. All they care its your money. Please fix what the drivers come for. Imagine tractor ABS and TCS light fault claiming they are going to charge me $9300 because of others issues. Thats horrible dealership ever. Drivers are not coming here to rebuild but to take care of current and the most important issues at hand.

I got here on Saturday and Scott was one working a desk he told me if only problem was NoX sensor I’ll be out same day well it has some other issues and truck gas to stay until Tuesday. Tech working on my truck was Paula and she was honest and very knowledgeable about trucks. She was very honest and she called me every day with updates. So I would recommend this service to anyone who is in the area. I will definitely be back if I have any other problems on my rig.

Im in the middle of getting my semi serviced here, and dont know what kind of comment to leave yet, but will say the following:Im almost 2 months in to my career as an owner-operator, and my truck engine blew up Wed night. These guys got it right in and diagnosed it in 10 hours at an hourly rate of $150 per hour. I dont know how they calculated the 10 hours, though because they worked on it for about 3 hours Wed night, and then another 2 to 3 hours Thur late afternoon, and that has me feeling like theyre counting hours that didnt really happen. The labor rate seems very high, and the proposed parts costs seems high, but Christina, a service manager says shell work with me on the labor charges... I guess well see. Darcy, in the rental & leasing office offered me a discounted deal to rent a truck, if I have to go that direction, and even saw how stressed I was and gave me a hug. Im liking that the ladies seem genuinely concerned for their customers, and the night shop foreman, Jeff, seemed to be a good guy. I will update this review as things progress.June 12, 2019 Update:Things look a LOT better here, and Im changing my rating of this shop from 3 stars to 5. I learned that during those first 2 nights (Wed and Thur) when they diagnosed the problem in 10 hours, Jeff (the night Foreman mentioned above) had as many as 3 guys at the same time working on opening my motor up. He told me that he put that many guys on my truck because he knew I was stranded away from home and wanted to get me helped as fast as possible. So kudos to Jeff, and I am glad I understand how the hours added up so quickly. I dont feel like I was taken advantage of anymore.Secondly, the day foreman, Steve, helped out with adjusting my billing to make it much more reasonable than what we first anticipated to replace the engine in my truck, and I am very thankful for that.Lastly, Sean, the night mechanic who took on the project of swapping out my engine seemed to do a very careful job, and strikes me as being very knowledgeable about my specific engine.So all in all, I am pleased with how Ive been treated here, and I would bring my truck here for service if I am in this area again.

We were told the were working on the truck for three days and then they kept saying the other person I talked to was incorrect and they hadnt started yet but they were starting it now and then you call back and go through it all again it took three days to clear a code and do a service all the while being told lie after lie

Very expensive

This is very likely the worst Mack dealership in the United States. Jeff, the service department foreman, is as unprofessional and as incompetent as they come. They are slow, they don’t update you on what is happening and then they scare you into believing it will take three days to get the part. Six hours later, it turns out it was a simple programing error that was completely covered by the warranty. If so, why not quickly and promptly fix the issue and get you back on the road? Just never come here and don’t purchase any Mack products.

Nice place. Mens Bathroom by front door is to small. toilet paper holder is to low cant. You will not be able to Spread your legs. hate sitting side ways think it is made for handicap i cant see a wheelchair going into it. If your a large person cant fit.

Very slow on everything. It took 7 days to fix my truck. They try to convince you replace the parts that works fine. Overpriced. They don’t know what they are fixing. All they can do is try to replace everything in your truck except the driver.

The parts department is fantastic, but the service department is awful with the exception of Sean at the front desk. They will not schedule appts so you just have to get in line. The list of hotels in the lounge is there for good reason. Their prices are through the roof, they take too long and (except for Sean) they dont seem to care. I am selling my Volvo so I dont have to ever deal with this place again.

My 2016 Volvo has to be towed in to McMahon earlier this month for a repair. The staff at McMahon treated me with respect and courtesy. Everyone was super friendly except for one person, Mandi Krouse. Mandi works as a service advisor and is the first point of contact with service customers. That is so unfortunate for the service department due to her poor attitude and sharp toungue. Mandi has no business talking to customers face to face. She will leave you feeling like you are an interruption to her day. She never smiles and seems to continually roll her eyes when conversing with her. I hope I never have to deal with her negative personality again. Praying I don’t break down again in Columbus.

One of the best places to get parts in town. All of the parts staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help. They get you in and get you out. Faith is who usually helps me, she is great to work with.

I had message regardaing Def and took my volvo 2016 to fix it. Two hrs diagnosis they said nothing wrong. I paid and went off. After 3/5 days i saw same problem. The reason was it was regen every after 4/5 days. It was my first week in job as owner operator. I pray nobodby has to face this problem.

They did around 8,000 worth of work. So far so good. But make sure u have time. Cause these folks are busy

Bad Area, They need to find a different area to put there shop. Some workers are not so great ( I guess it just depends on who you get), Doesnt have a lot of good semi trucks available. So other than that its ok.

Terrible truck parking, to small and way over crowded. If you pull in with a trailer, make sure to drop it way out front near 5th avenue because if you pull all the way back to the service department it will take forever and all the driving skill you ever learned just to get turned back out of there! The ladies and gentlemen that run the service department are friendly and professional! However, parts prices are not great, most companies use an alternate source for Mack, Volvo and Hino components because of the lack of competitive price and availability. To avoid this sounding like an advertisement for another company, I will not use company names, but there is a parts truck that runs from W. V. To Columbus daily because of the demand for these manufacturers O. E. M parts that are more reliable, and offer better price points.

I stepped to the parts today and five guys at the front talking about women. while I’m waiting for help in front of them for more than 25 minutes. I was the only one but none of them can’t help me. Bad place for business!!!

Sean in service was great. Everyone in the city including the jerk down on Alum Creek Drive that is just “too busy” all said Two weeks. Sean listened and evaluated had me in immediately. Jeff Winland (shop foreman) diagnosed the correct EDF issue and had me back in service in less than 6 hours after the part arrived Mr McMahon you should be proud of your staff.If you’re hauling a trailer you drop it out front. Honestly you think they are gonna put it ons life with your cab? Get some common sense.Nice lounge. Free coffee and WiFi. Great place. Great people. It’s not their fault you broke down. If I could give less than a 1 star I would. $11000 worth of repairs and less than half were done. 14 days in the shop and still was not complete. I was told that the repairs were done 3 times and still could not air the truck up to move it from the lot.I was told I needed a new air tank because of a leak at the valve, had to pay another dealer to replace the valve, sent the dpf filter to be cleaned and failed, needed a new one at almost $6000. Neglected to have it calibrated.Fuel shut off solenoid was apparently leaking fuel so they changed it out for an old faulty one that made my truck shut off 6 seconds after the key was turned off. Paid for air lines to be replaced under the hood that werent fixed and had to pay another Volvo dealer to fix, Ive left voice mails for the service manager and general manager and have no response. Worst place ever.. tow your truck to another Volvo dealer .I should not have to pay another Volvo dealer to fix what Ive already paid for.

The night shift is way more professional than the girl that are there in the day shift u have to go a ask them if you truck is redy cause even if they finished it they wont como to the waiting room and tell u that u are done and if you keep asking to see o to know when they are going to put u in the shop they get upset they should not get upset because im paying for my service im not there for charity upper manejement should train they stoff better like i said im not getting any work done or parts for free

I was here on July the 27th I was told my truck would be done 4 days later I didnt get it back until aug 8th Im a own operator they made me feel unimportant. I understand that they have accounts with big companies but at least let the customer know they are unorganized I had to call about my truck repeatedly on a few occasions they acted as if they didnt know what was going on, there is much more to the story but to summarize nothing good about this place. O Im here again aug 11th because the problem is back . They said they would get right on it but 2 hours later nothing so Im sitting in the lounge room that has fleas that are biting me as I type please dont bring your truck here I warn you

Total morons and liars. Dont even deserve a single star. Called ahead for vehicle delivery and when I arrived was denied because it was after 3:30 even tho service is open untill 5 and the whole place is open untill 12am Fire your 2nd shift head of service.

In my opinion, one star is too high of a rating for McMahon Truck Center. I brought my Volvo in for just a PM. I refused authorization for any other work to be done on my truck. I knew that there was a code for the right side high beam light due to my installing after market LED bulb assemblies. They pulled out the LED headlight bulb assemblies and left them hanging and banging as I drove away. One broke by the time evening came on and the road was dim. That is when I also found that the right side headlight housing was broke and had to be replaced. I called repeatedly and left many messages with the service manager. I have never heard back, never been offered restitution for the damages, and I am out a lot of money for their ineptitude.
