Got a pumpkin cold brew and a pup cup as we were driving through Columbia with our dog. My drink was delicious and the pup cup was SO cute! I’m guessing hers was good because she inhaled it. Very cute place and super friendly staff!

I wish I can rate it 5 stars. I love the vibe. Staffs were very friendly too. We ordered Iced Latte, Iced Mocha with Oatmilk (I have lactose intolerance), and Magic Cake. The cake was great. Especially, those little chocolate brownie bites on top were delicious. Also, my husband liked his Iced latte. I agreed with him at the first two sips after drinking my Mocha, but later on, I believed my drink was not made with oatmilk. My belly sent me some signals to warn me to go to the restroom after drinking. To those who have lactose-intolerance will understand. Unless the cake was full of milk product, yet the Iced Mocha will be the forever-suspect. Hopefully, the staffs will pay more attention to details next time. They were nice to us.

The staff at sweetwaters consists of the most personable, genuinely kind individuals. This is one of the few places in this day in age that has made me feel like they truly care about their customers experiences and well-being. Greg, who I presume to be the owner/ manager, always goes out of his way to make his customers experiences more enjoyable and inquire about how their day has been, memorize their names, etc. Not to mention their drinks/ food are amazing and are made so quickly. You’re missing out if you haven’t been here!

Just a good coffee shop in downtown Columbia. One of this places greatest merits comes from more than the coffee itself: the open hours for the shop. Its open very late for a cafe, something that only Cool Beans can match and surpass, though this place is easily better in terms of pricing (Cool Beans is wildly overpriced, regardless of how great the location and design of the buildings interior are).This shop is gorgeous on the inside, with plenty of seating and many windows, so light is always streaming in when the suns out. There are a variety of seating options, and each individual at the shop will definitely feels as though they have enough space without feeling cramped.So now, in terms of the coffee, its good, but not necessarily great (if I could give this shop 4.4 stars or 4.5, I would). It doesnt particularly stand out, but it is still quite good. So while the coffee and the desserts/pastries are decent to good, the setting is great, and I very much recommend a visit here. Great place to study!

One of the best, newest coffee spots downtown. Aside from coffee, they have a huge selection of teas. Ive visited a number of times because of the convenience, the friendly staff, the food, and the atmosphere.

I think this has to be by far the best coffee shop in all of Columbia! The coffee is incredible and the service is amazing. I had a barista named Elijah Thomas serve me today and as soon as I walked in, I felt like I was home! I was greeted with a big smile, quick service and friendly conversation! Will definitely be coming back to this place! People like Elijah make it a unique atmosphere that make you want to come back!

This is a great place to get some work done and grab a good cup of coffee or tea. My fiancé and I both love coming here. The last time we were in we met the owner, wonderful man. I was sad that I didn’t catch his name. Ask him for a suggestion, he’s got great taste! If you’re like me and work from a laptop or tablet, there are plenty of places to plug in. Check the floor outlets for USB chargers too! Did I mention how great the coffee and tea is? It’s amazing.

Honestly didnt even know this was a franchise by the welcoming local feel of the place. Greg, the owner, is absolutely incredible as he not only strikes up easy going conversation, but has remembered me and my tastes across visits (Even surprised my date and I with some sweets on the house). In a city not known for many places to get a good cup of tea, I find Sweet Water is my go to place. A little on the pricier side I will admit, but worth every penny.

Espresso done right! No sour taste, which is all too frequent in local coffee shops. Also the only place that includes a glass of water and doesnt have to be told not to use paper cups.

Found this relaxing and refreshing coffee place for my #exploringlocalcoffee. Great coffee and tea options to choose from. Loved the latte (it was perfect) and mocha ice dragons (it was kinda too sweet for me). Also loved the pastry collection, would definitely visit again.

Was gifted a chai from here. Great flavor, but needs more tea. Overall came off as watered down.

I could write a monologue on my love for sweetwaters, but Ill keep it short(er). First, best lattes I have ever had! You can taste the quality. I havent been back to starbucks since I discovered this gem over a year ago!!! Second, Greg is the best! He knows his customers names, their orders, and their pets. He welcomes my ferret and always asks how hes doing. Friendliest guy and he hires the friendliest employees! 100/10 recommend:)))

My favorite coffee place, period. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel welcome by greetings and smiles from the Sweetwater team. On my first visit I asked about their cold brew and the team suggested “Dreamy”. Sweetwater’s cold brew is smooth and perfectly prepared. Traditions coffee, lattes and teas are amazing as well as their pastry selection.

Wonderful place to grab a coffee or drink! Staff is so helpful and friendly. Inside is super clean, modern and just a really cool place to just hangout. Free WiFi! One of the larger coffee shops with lots of space. Come check it out and support them!

I took Vietnamese French coffee and OMG chocolate cake. Coffee was wow, cake was just ok. A lot of college students there. Noisy people eat masks so it felt safe. I recommend that place.

This coffee joint is across the street from the hotel that I am currently residing.The place had a very cute and quaint ambiance. The layout of the pastries was appealing. If I had more time I would have tried a slice of cake.I ordered a small Dragon eye along with a turkey and provolone pretzel. I enjoyed my drink greatly! The coffee was rich in flavor with the right amount of condensed milk: not overly sweet.The pretzel was delectable as well.I am hoping to get a chance to go Sweetwaters again before I leave Columbia. I plan to to try the Vietnamese French Au Lait. And finally the service was fast, very friendly, and professional.I would highly recommend visiting this local shop if you plan to be in downtown Columbia, SC.

Had a great experience here. Im new to the area and always looking to try more obscure coffee joints wherever I go. The owner is really passionate about how he brews his coffee and is fun to talk to. Ive never been a fan of ice coffee and he made a convert out of me with his smooth cold brew! Highly recommend; Ill definitely be back.

Great coffee and their croissant was incredible. Chocolate stuffed croissant at 7am just came out of the oven. Nothing more amazing and a must try! I love finding gems like this place when visiting new cities.

I got a creme caramel latte, tiramisu, and a meat and cheese pretzel thing and everything was delicious. Pricey, but what do you expect from a coffee shop? And you can’t beat locally owned. Wifi was super fast, and almost every table has an outlet so it is the ideal place to setup and get some work done! I might just be back every week from here on out. Only complaint is I wish they wouldn’t use plastic silverware/cups for dine-in.Update: Thai tea is also amazing!

We were looking for a safe place to catch up with a couple friends. Sweetwaters Cafe was perfect! The place was clean, the tables were spaced out, everyone wore a mask and the owner was constantly wiping down tables after each guest. The best of all, their drinks and pastries were delicious! We had the Mint Julep, Napali Brew and red velvet cake. We enjoyed them all, especially the Napali Brew ice cream drink! We will be back.

This was a late breakfast for us, they as you wouldve expected they were packed. I ordered one of my favorites; pancakes and bacon, my friend got one of the suggested menu combos. With a small wait for a table, you would suspected a wait for the food. Nope! This kitchen staff was on top of it. You continuously saw food coming out and I can stress its not just made and sitting back there. My friend & myself both had slight cooking changes and when the food arrived it was perfect.

Everyone is very knowledgeable about the teas that has served heremy personal favorite is the earl gray that they have. They genuinely seem to like that they work there nice place to go on a cold Saturday morning not very crowded has a very cozy feel to it

No doubt Ill be a regular here. As someone who loves quality tea, this business offers tasty teas in a very inviting environment. The staff at Sweetwaters must enjoy their jobs as they each wore a smile.

The experience started out amazing. Great service from the barista & cashier... then with only 2 additional customers in the store, we were asked to get up from our seating at a table used for large groups. At 7:30am and a total of 5 customers in the store, the staffer didn’t use good judgment asking us to move. It was totally unnecessary and petty. I won’t be back.

Built mainly to serve the students living in the apartments above, the staff nonetheless welcomes us old guys from across the street at SCDOT with genuine affection. The coffee is good and the pastries are even better. 🙂

My husband and I walked past Sweetwaters and decided to pop in. Its a beautiful cafe and the employees were all so friendly! I tried a dirty cold brew (soooo good) and a piece of OMG cake (the title seriously says it all, literally best.cake.EVER). I cant wait to go back! We live like an hour away, makes me so sad!
