This is the most adorable locally owned shop and restaurant. I love shopping for wines, cheeses, desserts, or kitchen accessories!Called in my order for pickup. I ordered the chicken salad stuffed tomato. It was ready in 10 minutes. On the way out, I ordered a cheesecake dessert. Both were delicious and for both items, it was under $20. Great place to eat, delicious food, and friendly atmosphere.

What a great place to have brunch. The server (named Jackson) was very knowledgeable, attentive and seemed happy to make everything perfect. What a rarity these day?!? Stopped by the deli on the way out for a few special treats. Everything is quality here.

Overall, I really liked this place. The food and drinks were excellent, and the coffee was high quality. There’s the actual restaurant portion, a bakery section, and a wine/cigar section. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff was compliant with COVID-19 Guidelines. Everyone was still seated very close together though. I would have given this place 5 stars but our waiter disappeared. When we first got there we had a waitress and she got us what we needed initially. Then after that we had a waiter and he only came to check on us twice (once to order actual food, and once to give us the check). He was very attentive to the tables next to us on the right but completely ignored our table and the one to our left. At one point, a family sat down to the left of us after the other guests left and they waited for about 25 minutes before they left because no one even came to get their drink order. I was very disappointed in this aspect. Another downside is this place only has one unisex bathroom, meaning only one toilet so you will be waiting awhile to use it. I would like to point out that we went during brunch which is a very busy time and I can understand that things won’t happen right away. However, to be completely forgotten about by staff is really annoying especially when staff is attentive to the people around you. I would like to return because the food/drinks were excellent but I’m hesitant to based on our waiter experience. It’s a shame because the two times we did actually see him he was very sweet and joked with us.

Enjoyed the visit. Really cool stop. Crowded.I had the turkey panini with their house condiment. The turkey had a taste to it that I didnt like. I ate a good part of my sandwich without the turkey. The rest of it was great and their house made condiment was pretty delish.I also had the tomato bisque as the side.Yum.I wish I had just gotten the bisque and some bread. It was so delicious. I was sad when it ended. Highly recommend it.Also had the mimosa kit, which was a great addition to a lunch for four.Service was great and we had a great time. Would definitely come back.

I was in Columbia, SC for a business trip.I did curb side pick up one Sunday morning due to social distancing purposes. From the outside the restaurant looked like it was poppin and I really wish it was non-COVID times. I would have loved to go in to experience the environment.Anyway, I ordered the medium rare roast beef sandwich with a side of pesto pasta. I enjoyed the roast beef tremendously due to it its juiciness. The medium rare temperature does it justice.The pasta was tasty and had garnishes of pecan which worked very well with the flavor of the pesto.I would highly recommend this restaurant for Sunday brunch or lunch any day.

I always enjoy the atmosphere at the Gourmet Shop, the Butternut Squash Soup was great and the Chicken Salad on the Crossiant made it Perfect.

Had a hair in my grits…grits were way too salty coming from someone who loves salt on everything. Was asked to put on a mask even though multiple people weren’t wearing mask while walking around. The manager passed an older women with no mask just to come tell me and ignore her.. i will never be back to this establishment.

Eating at Gourmet Shop is always a pleasure! Fresh and delicious food with plenty of traditional and unique options makes it a good choice for all types of visitors. Perfect to sit outside on a nice day or grab a table inside. Adhering well to physical distancing precautions inside and using digital menus.

Iconic 5 Points restaurant Ive been going to since college (25 years!), I cant get enough of their chicken salad. I truly havent had better anywhere. Get there early, its always busy and parking can be tough. Inside and outside seating, and a cute shop with unique food and kitchen items to peruse while you wait.

The waffles were so tastless. The grits were so thick and cold.

Delicious....interesting one of a kind items for gifts or yourself.. wine, cigars and international food delights for sale! A must visit! I would wait till USC settles in though....

The food here is really great. Their panini sandwiches are too good. I loved all of their sides as there are more healthier options. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you will definitely love this place! They have a special vegan menu too.

If you’re looking for one of the best lunch/brunch spots in town look no further. It is one of my favorite little places to have a mimosa and nibble on some tasty fresh food. And that’s just the cafe. If you’re looking for amazing hostess gifts their shop is fantastic. Their wine selection is amazing and also just a fantastic place to grab and go food and add to your pantry and bar.

We were traveling through and found this gem of a place. So many cool items, bakery items, desserts, lunch, places to sit outside and inside. The staff were super attentive and friendly. Stop by!!! Youll be glad you did.

Youll be back for the food (Brunch is just right) and all of the other gourmet delights hidden around the retail half of the store. The Bloody Mary gets high marks for using SC ingredients and adding a dash of creativity with the garnish. Service is friendly and fast. Indoor and outdoor [in the shade all morning] seating. Ample parking nearby. Sunday brunch gets crowded so plan to shop their well curated wine selection or looking for those hard to find containers of french duck fat. A friendly delightful place to visit many times.

Quite possibly the most boujee place in all of Columbia and I say that with the utmost respect and adoration. This place is the go to for all upscale wine, spreads, cigars, cheeses. If you want to spend a quick $100 they can help. With that being said everything is fantastic better than youd imagine, cheese game is unrivaled in all of SC I believe. Definitely check them out its worth the Cheddar. pun intended!!!!

Don’t waste your time going here. Food came out with a massive hair on top of it. On top of that, the food was cold and bland. Very dissapointed.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it never disappoints. However, today, I am appalled at what happened. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk; however, when my drink came, it looked suspicious and very creamy. I asked the waitress to add more coffee to it to give it more of a traditional latte taste. Around 10 minutes after I left, I start feeling nauseous with an upset stomach. It’s the same feeling I get whenever I drink regular milk. I come home and am back and forth to the restroom. I tell my mom what happened, who I had lunch with, and she calls the restaurant so that they can be more aware when preparing coffee drinks. The woman who answered the phone told my mom that they are very careful, and that I probably just had a virus. To basically diagnose me with an illness due to their mistake is never okay especially when I know how my body reacts to me drinking certain milks. Their lack of an apology and unprofessionalism is sad. The food was good, but make sure to double check your drinks if you ever order a coffee and have a slight allergy/intolerance.

Went here for brunch because they were the only place open at 10am AND served mimosas. It turned out so much more, with wonderful outdoor eating a delicious coffee and food. Be warned; the wine, cigars, and cheese inside will definitely tempt you as you pay.

Stopped in for lunch and the quality was amazing and the prices were reasonable! Also they’re the only place I could find a pizza/baking stone locally! Highly recommend! I will be back soon!

First time visiting! I opted on to-go as it was Super busy! Rather large store with an array of wares to choose from. Mainly geared towards folk who like to cook but theres more. If youre a wine connoisseur, theres an ample selection to choose from. If cigars are your fancy, theres a walk-in humidor. Everyone was nice and helpful. The young man at the counter offered a sample of their famous chicken salad. It was tasty! I hope to come again and sit for lunch one day!

Ike was very kind towards the end of my visit, by the teas, willing to orient me in right direction. What a shame! Beautiful store with plenty selection, but employees do not seem to enjoy what they do. Would’ve liked better hospitality.

Good food, neat atmosphere. The baguette was less flakey/more squishy than I like but the dill potato salad more than made up for that.

I am a huge fan of the Gourmet Shop, they have such unique items for sale in the retail section of the store, it is stuff you don’t find everywhere. I find myself running in to grab just a few items for a quick cheese board when I have people coming over, or when I need a bottle of wine. The cafe I love and treat myself to a Brie and bacon croissant when I dine, it is decadent. Their menu if a QR code now and I love this feature, it is so Covid safe. Highly recommend to check this place out, they are doing a great job.

The food was delicious, but some sanitary issues. I had a table by the counter where the food runners grab the food, and many times I saw different food runners grab bread with their bare hands, grab something they fell off the plate with their bare hands, and put it back on the plate. Yes, they wash their hands. But not enough to be doing that. That’s not sanitary. And there was a large bone in the chicken salad.

I walk by this establishment all the time and theres always a good crowd early and throughout the day. Between the restaurant, bakery and store I was not sure where to begin. The staff did a great job of providing me with the information I requested and the menu offers a unique variety of foods from breakfast to dinner platters. Had too get something from the bakery on my way put and it was worth it.

This place is really special; the shop boasts gourmet foods, kitchen wares, wine and beer, and the cafe is inside. Outdoor and indoor seating available and we love sitting with Samantha each weekend. The flexibility of setting makes this a great place to go during Covid times and really any time. The folks are friendly, the food is delicious and fairly priced, and the atmosphere is just so cute.

A Columbia staple. I always get the one, one, and one. The pimento cheese is the best there is. Id also vote for the chicken salad as the best in town. If you need other gourmet needs this is your go to spot.

Lemme just tell you about the chicken salad. It is the best. Do not challenge me on this. Everything else is good too, but CHICKEN SALAD. Sit indoors or on the patio and enjoy the 5 points atmosphere while you try the chicken salad. Get it in a cantelope! #CHICKENSALAD

I have overlooked the Gourmet Shop for breakfast, but this morning was great! Breakfast bowl with local grits, extra crispy bacon, and cheddar that is sharper than you normally find... add a side of fresh espresso and you have awesome!

This was my first time eating brunch here. Definitely loved our server and this breakfast panini. Also the grits were amazing!

Best part of my college experience! Mimosas kits and the brie and bacon, you cant go wrong! The shop always had what you were looking for and the best wine selections around. Definitely worth checking out

Had a great lunch here with family. Loved the deviled eggs and sandwich “BLT”. Everyone else in my group also raved about their sandwiches. The wait to be seated was about 25 minutes as it was very crowded. Reasonably priced when the wait staff messed up my order they left the original sandwich and also brought what I ordered without charge. The hot chocolate was pretty good!

A must visit local store if you love chocolates, wine and pasta salads. Kinda on the expensive side, but amazing collection of everything. Please shop local and treat yourself to chocolates from here.

Gourmet shop is one of our favorite Cola spots. The food and service are always great. Best chicken salad in Columbia, hands down! Whenever were having a house party we like to stop in and pick up all the fixings for a killer charcuterie board. They have a ton of variety and will slice everything nicely for you.

Really good food, and the store is fun to walk around and puruse. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend the chicken salad or the French Club.The only thing to keep in mind that it is on the pricey side, especially the things in the market, but whatever you do get will taste fantastic.

The cafe is very exspensive on a student budget but a nice treat. Kayla is the best waitress they have, down to earth, friendly and, she is amazing at her job. Inside they have a huge wine selection, cigars, fresh food togo and many other needed items for the kitchen. They have the best brewed coffee in the immediate area and I always choose their latte as my go to drink.

Going to The Gourmet Shop for weekend brunch is a favorite activity for me and my wife. We get consistently exceptional service there, especially from Jake. We live right around the corner, and cant say enough great things about the vibes and the food here. The French wine posters, the leather booth seats, the brick floor...its an experience that cant be replicated anywhere else in town. Thanks guys!

Tons of high quality food items that are not normally sold at supermarkets. They have over 30 different kinds of cheese, a deli meat selection and even caviar for sale! They also have a lovely kitchen supplies section that includes bakeware, shun knives and small appliances by smeg. There is also an eatery section and wine section I did not explore. This is one of the few places I. Town that sells anson mills products.

I stopped in to return a fondue pot and they said I had to wait for 15 minutes for somebody to get there they didn’t offer me anything in return like a coffee or anything while I wait.
