The rocket kits you get here are decent, however the rocket motors are not guaranteed and they wont stand behind the products they sell you. If you want to launch, I guess you have to buy 3x the motors you might need and hope the propellant in 1-2 of them will actually fire from ignition. : (

Had a great experience with apogee. I stopped in their office on a road trip out west, I had no real expectations I figure I would just see a few rockets and buy a few things. I was genuinely surprised at how well I was treated the customer service is true customer service. They gave me a short tour and answered any and all questions I had, as well as made suggestions purely based on what I needed and not just trying to up sell me. Hands down it was well above and beyond what I have come to expect with most companys anymore. Customer service seems to be a lost art, but not at apogee. After I returned home I placed an online order which was filled and shiped the same day and received an email with tracking info, as well as a personal thank you they actually remembered me. I have just placed my second order with Apogee for engines and rocket build parts. I have been out of the hobby for 30 + years but now am retired and have grandkids to get interested in rocketry! Just purchased the Rising Star payloader kit and have it 1/2 done. I am working on all kinds of neat Ham Radio related payloads to fly in it including a 2M to 70cm linear transponder. I placed a test order to see what i would get. just parts. well, it took 3 days to arrive. the packaging was very professional! (good job) the parts were very high quality! so, i placed a second order. more parts. the body tubes are perfect. plastic parts are as they should be. i ordered from estes a month ago. still waiting... i ordered from amazon. kinda pricey. i actually found Apogee on amazon. looked them up. wow! tons of info! i actually looked and read for two weeks before i placed my test order. I just made my third order with this company in recent weeks.Im thoroughly impressed with the complete resource theyve put together for the amateur rocket hobbyist.The education library alone is valuable but the inventory for the one-stop-shop experience is much appreciated. You see, Im in this for my 14 yr old son who shows a great deal of talent and interest in STEM and specifically aerospace engineering. My lack of experience in this field would make mentoring him through his L1 then L2 much more difficult if I didnt have this great company to deal with.Im even satisfied enough with their customer service and product inventory that I am okay with paying the small premium on products rather than ordering direct from the original vendor. I could save a few bucks but then Im depending on emails not being returned or VM not even being set up. Or having to make several orders from different companies.
