Five stars and ten out of ten!!! This is really a great used bookstore, maybe my new favorite!!! The stacks are well organized, the collection is Definitely well curated, and its a joy to be in the store. I found some old and some new books that I wanted, and a great collectors piece. Will be back soon for sure!

Im visiting from Texas and found this independent bookstore while looking for things to do. Its such a neat place: cozy, full of books new and old, and full of charm! I would definitely recommend visiting if you like independent bookstores as well as literature!

I love this shop! They have a great selection and lovely displays; I always find something to bring home with me when I stop in. I really enjoy their eclectic product mix, and I’m pleased to find D&D and zines (!) at home next to popular fiction, classics, and sets of vintage books. Worth checking out regularly!

I really enjoyed this bookstore. So many books. They take trade ins and can do exchanges as well. Best of all my son quietly was able to sit in corner and read while I shopped and they even give away some free books near the front. Ill be back for self care and philosophy books as well as Silverstein

This review is going to have a little twist. I took a friend to the Springs whos kitty needed to have an operation. We drove to Barnes and Noble. The one near Chapel Hill Mall. They have a huge cafe, they wouldnt let us sit any where inside because of the rise in Covid. Not a problem but we knew we were going to be waiting for the cat until late afternoon, early evening. So my sidekick search the internet after many calls this was the only place that would let us sit and stay as long as needed. My friend needed to do paperwork I love books. This bookstore is darling. Not at all hard to find just off I-25, plenty of parking, nice clean bathroom, in an amazing building with an Air BNB on the second floor. The young man who owns it could not have been more accommodating. Upon arrival my sidekick told him who we were and his reply was, please feel welcome and stay as long as you need and Im here with any questions either one of you may have. Now I hope I have my numbers right but I believe 20% of the books are new and 80% are used. You almost have to search to decide if his books are new or used hes very particular about The used books he purchases for this unique shop. Hes a young man hes owned it since January of 2020, has a kind personality and knows his inventory. So my friend was able to get a lot of paperwork done and we both purchased several books at truly great prices. Westside Stories carries all the best sellers youll find in the big book stores and in this shop youre not going to have the mass crowds. Well turns out I noticed almost every customer that entered was greeted by name. A small amount of Small talk past between owner and customers, which to me says the customers are repeat and go often. One thing I noticed about this shop was the floor, while it looks like tile, it is not its wood and beautiful. The only other place Ive seen flooring like this was in Concord, Massachusetts in a hay barn.This shop has a few other things like jewelry, pictures, records, tarot cards, and Im sure things Im forgetting!!! It was so kind of his young entrepreneur to allow us to hang out for HOURS with Covid on the rise like it is, we did keep our masks on out of respect for his kindness. With so many people staying home more just now, why not give the gift of a book for this holiday season. I for one like to support the independent shops because thats were you get service along with kindness. Please tell Brian Jo, the cat person said hi. Thank you!

This is my new favorite bookshop. All the staff I have met have been extremely friendly and helpful, the prices are all low, they offer new and used books, and the atmosphere was emaculate. I cant say enough good thing about this place, this is definetely where I will be shopping for books and decks from here on out.

Discovered this awesome book store on Dec 31, 2020. What a true gem! Great selection of books in the genres I look for. And to add to the refreshing shopping experience, I met two of the owners - no wonder the store has such a positive vibe. Outgoing, personable and willing to keep me updated on future book selections. What a way to end 2020!

Cute and clean place but the staff was not friendly or helpful. I wanted to like this place and was disappointed. We weren’t greeted when we came in or when we left. The new books section wasn’t diverse it’s mostly witch/new age material. They did have a large used sci-fi fantasy section but the kids area was disorganized and messy.

Im a sucker for cozy used book stores, and Westside Stories was a great little shop. I was looking for a series of fantasy books by Robert Jordan, which they had two volumes of. I purchased them to add to my collection. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will go again!

I used to go to the book man before they moved to this location at one time it was one of the best bookstores in the city for used books.I used to be able to get lost for hours in the shop. Now in its new location the inventory is almost a third of what it was before and a bit of it is new but theyre used to selection is still excellent if abridged. Unfortunately I did not see the book mans trademark cat running around. Still it is only one of a handful of used bookstores in the city and one of the few that is LGBTQ friendly. I have and will support them and hope one day that they move to a larger location because their sales have gotten so good and maybe adopt another kitten or two for the shop.

Im super allergic to chemicals and scents bother me a lot; so, I would change that to nothing or diffuser with something less more natural and harmless like mint or basil...

Great selection of used (and some new) books! They have a whole wall dedicated to D&D books, both fiction in that world and actual rule books. They even have some box sets for getting started! They have a small graphic novels section, but with a good selection. There is a great kids section in the back too.

I really love this bookstore and have been coming for years, however, one of the best aspects of this bookstore was the reasonable pricing considering all the books are donated and it’s 100% profit. Recently the prices have increased a considerable amount and it’s kinda disappointing:( I guess I understand but now it seems not quite as worth it and makes me want to stick to going to “2 buck books” which keeps there prices very low for donated books. Still an amazing bookstore just pricier than it needs to be in my opinion.

My favorite bookstore in Colorado Springs. I needed a book on casseroles, they had the perfect one. Even when Im not looking for something in particular I always find a gem. I didnt see the cats on this visit though. I miss them.

This is a very well organized, reasonable priced used bookstore. Friendly staff. Very good selection, and I was able to leave with several great finds for $15. Absolutely recommend for whiling away a few hours.

Nice store and appears to have a large and well kept variety of books. I went looking for an old book and they had what I was interested in. The woman working was by herself and very busy, but stayed as attentive as she could. Nice experience.

I have a cane and had my daughter in a stroller. Not only is the sidewalk deplorable and downright unsafe, but your shop is far from handicap accessible. After I struggled up the front steps and in the door, with no help whatsoever offered from the clerk, I encountered a shop FILLED with tiny steps up and steps down, again something for which the clerk seemed to have no sympathy. There are plenty of other stores, dont waste your time with this one, especially if you have any physical impairment or limitation.

This is my favorite bookstore Ive ever been to. The store cat, Mr. Blue, is so cute. They always have every book Im looking for, and browsing here is a treat every time.

I would love to tell you about this book store, but I cant. Was in the area and decided to check it out. Could not find a place to park. Looked like the store had about six parking spaces (to include on street parking). All were filled. Went around the block and nothing was available. Decided it wasnt worth my time and went home. Wanted to support a local business, but will be shopping online instead. For the business: maybe you should indicate (with a sign or something) were customers can park when space is limited.

Great used book store. Will do store credit for books you bring in for trade. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Nice childrens section, good fantasy/sci-fi section.

Rebecca who commented below is a deplorable. The sidewalk is a city issue not a business issue. If you know anything about Colorado springs, youd know they have been sued for their sidewalks and in the middle of a huge citywide renovation. As for in store, its not the clerks job to walk you through a store. Put your stroller down or leave it at the door. Youre very entitled and very wrong in your 1 star review. The bookman is nothing but a phenomenal book store!

Great selection of books in all categories. Sell your old books for cash or trade. The reason for 4 stars is due to the credit option for selling your books is misleading. Your credit will go towards 1/2 of any book(s) that you buy, so you can never get a free book on credit even if you have the full amount to do so.

Seemed like a good varity of reading material (Its kinda sorta like their old location) and we love those grey cats, but their newer employee offered no help or assistance and was playing music much to loud. Got frustrated and left.
