Years ago when I lived in Petersburg I use to go to this Michaels all the time. I now live near the new Hobby Lobby in Chester but recently decided to revisit this old Michaels and was really disappointed at the comparison of the 2 stores and the condition of this one. The selection was poor, the prices werent so great, the store didnt appear well stocked and honestly it looked kind of dumpy. I didnt buy a thing. Last year I did buy a Christmas tree there so I know they can carry some nice, great bargains, but it looked so run-down the other day I doubt Id bother driving down again.

This place is literally the best. They have a little of everything. If you are a member they throw some great deals at you via email.

Really nice store. The wife downloaded their app and ended up getting four skeins of yarn FREE!

I can get into some financial trouble here. 😁. I can literally spend hours and my entire paycheck here and still not see everything. Plus, the employees are super knowledgeable and offer advice for projects. We love this place!!

As I continue to widen my gaze as a tshirt vendor, I come to realize that Michaels needs to expand their tshirt inventory by carrying ladies crew neck Tees!

Went in for Halloween decorations. There was next to nothing. It was as if Halloween was yesterday instead of in two weeks.

Excellant selection of items for about any art or craft you would like to try.

Other than only have one register open, todays visit was good. The team was asking customers if they needed help(a first time) and there was plenty of suggestions to get families crafting over the summer.

Im never greeted or asked if I need assistance but I am followed around. Somethings are never in stock and when I inquire im told they dont know what comes in the shipment.

I was soooo disgusted with Letizia today at the framing department. She ruined my entire experience there. What shopping options I intended on there was deterred by her unwillingness to assist me with my mirror being replaced. First off its rude to he spoken to and not respond. The couple she was working with initially heard me speak several times and they responded in her behalf yet shes the employee. We were cordial as customers yet the associate refused to acknowledge me. It made me feel it was because I was African American and she was obviously of European decent that she felt I was less worthy of her time. She finished up with that sweetest couple before me and finally stated shell be right back as if there were so many people requiring service. It was only me at that time. When she returned she then began to disclose how she was by herself and did not have time to assist me with the repairs needed since this wasnt that type of store that had the tools she felt was required to do the job properly. When I recommended that I might have a toll that would work she injected again that she did not have time to work on my mirror for me. I corrected her by saying Ill gladly take the back off if you could cut the mirror please for me. She responded with again Im by myself and did not have time to spend on reaffixing the frame back. She stated they only work on wood frames primarily. I paised my response for a moment and carefully thought about my next delivery of words as by this time I felt a distinct racial issue here with her. I decided to blatantly ask Are you telling me you cant fix my mirror? She responded strongly thats what Ive stated several times. I responded you you didnt but you made sure I knew you didnt have the time to do it adamantly. Had you stated no before I wouldve been dismissed this entire aggravated conversation with you. I thanked her for tge nonassistance giving and took my mirror and my business out of that store but not before gaining her name to include in this review. When I say I was disgusted ..... help me lord I truly was. Craziness this was. What she didnt know is I had spoken with someone 4 weeks ago that was so sweet and helpful over the phone and so willing to assist me with my mirror that it encouraged me to utilize their business. Not anymore. Bad customer service if Ive ever seen it. I worked as a customer service representative for years and I would have never told a customer no mess like that. You dont need to serve the community if your attitude reflects color as service. There were no black or white lines just a line maam so excuse me if my skin enraged you so. Deterred me and anyone I know from your employer. Michaels your standards should be better than this for sure. Awful employee. Very dismissive and unwilling to assist. Horrible display of an associate Ive ever known or experienced.

My favorite craft store! We have shopped online and picked up inside and curbside as well as shipped to our home and same day delivery! I really loved the same day delivery as we had run out of something and they dropped it off less then an hour later. My niece and nephew were so appreciative.

The sales associate was a delight! She helped me measure to buy the specific frame needed. I wish I remembered her name, as she is a keeper. Thank you for your assistance.

This is a decent Michaels. Theyre not as big as some of the ones Ive been to in the Greater Richmond Area and because of that, they dont have as many options available, but this still is a nice Micheals.Its kept clean, the staff is friendly, and they carry some cool stuff.

My daughter an i favorite craft store. Most of the employees are very nice and helpful. I have had my share of rude an disrespectful one also.

I get all my craft supplies from Michaels. I can spend hours in there every time I go. I do wish they had a better selection of wired ribbon, Deco Mesh & colored burlap. Sometimes they are out of the supplies I need, like wire breath frames. They could also be a little cheaper on some things, but they do put out great coupons every week, up to 50% off even. Plus, I like the new rewards program too. I earned $30 in reward vouchers from 1 purchase! Thats great! That, plus whatever coupons are available really helps bring the price down. I love shopping at Michaels.

The only reason you get a single star from me is because I had to choose something!!!!!I called the store and a young sounding woman answered the phone.I asked her about a couple of items that were on sale she put me on hold twice to speak to her manager. That was completely fine and then I asked her what time what time did the store close. She then told me 8:00pm and I said okay . There is no Michaels immediately near my home so I drove all the way to colonial heights to be in the store for about 10 minutes. AlA makes an announcement over the intercom that this time is(about)7:05 p.m. and the stores closed. I was not happy with that I walked up to the register and let the lady know what I was told over the phone. She repeated to me twice that the store closed at 7:00 p.m. I walked back to the aisle to finish my shopping. In no way was I rushing. That is not my fault that your people dont know what time your store closes DURING COVID. COVID HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME AND I THINK YOUR STAFF SHOULD KNOW YOUR HOURS BY NOW. She then repeated over the intercom again that it is 7:10 and our stores closed as to get me out of her store. Again I reiterate I was not in a rush at all. You dont fully consider your customers time and I will not consider yours. I left out of the store and there were still more people walking up to the door as though no one knew that the store closed at 7:00 p.m. I wasted an entire trip to come to this location only to not even get half of the stuff that I needed to get for a project. Yall need to get your stuff together!!!

Friendly staff in framing department! They did a great job on the project I asked them to do for me. It took them less time than they told me it would be ready, which was awesome! Kind of expensive even with the sale but they did a great job. Would recommend to everyone!

I am not a crafter and have no reason to go to this store. But my wife is. She was looking for exact items for Halloween Decorations. She found everything and it made her happy, in turn me happy. Not a bad store to get ideas and let your imagination get you going.

There is SO much to choose from .. in just about every conceivable hobby. Its a big, clean, neat-in-appearance store. Easy access from interstate 95 or us 301. Big easy to navigate parking lot.

Looking for wedding ceremony sand. Not many choices. Store has lots of products for everything. Never crowded, and good parking available.

Rude cashiers. Not very willing to help if you need something. Rather travel to Richmond for a more pleasant experience.

Only place for crafts around this area and they are always organized. Prices online are awesome and staff in friendly up front. It’s tough to get someone to pick up your online order or frames. Sometimes the wait is so long I almost feel like leaving. The coupons they send you are so hrs to use on cheap items. Plenty of parking spaces.

Apparently Michaels is no longer selling sterling jewelry parts. Now I need to find somewhere new to buy my parts!

Only reason I dont give it a 5 star is because the last item on my list I needed help with and the worker told me to go and check on #4 right under the glitter but item wasnt on #4 nor was the glitter. Glitter was on line line 7 as for what I was looking for...lets just say Im still looking.

Great place to get all your crafting needs. They have a wide selection of all of the latest crafting trends. It is difficult to find employees on the sales floor when you need assistance. They are usually up front at the registers. Not all of the employees are knowledgeable in crafting so it is best to know what you want and how to do it before you go to the store for supplies.

I love just walking thru trying to get ideas. You can nearly anything craft related you need. Good staff, always pretty much organized, easy to find stuff

This particular Michaels has an excellent oil and acrylic painting supply in stock.

Had some very old pictures framed. Sales people were friendly and knowledgeable. Pictures came out beautiful.

Now Michaels is a 5 star for me but for some people it may be less because the employees, though helpful when you stop them and ask a question, tend to go about their business without bothering you. Michaels seems to always have good stuff on sale and things you wouldnt find anywhere else!!! I personally color a lot so I go in looking for anything I can color with and they have a lot of different things that they sell individual colors for so you dont have to buy the whole pack. And they sell the best for the money journals at $5 a piece!!! Awesome deal. These journals come in over a dozen different colors but also in blank, dot and ruled. They have a great feel and finish to them and would be awesome for a beginner dot journalist or a long time pro like myself. Go check them out!

Why do you need a receipt to return something that is clearly that they are merchandise?

Michaels is a chain store, and as such, the reviews for the store itself will be mostly the same. I love their coupon policy and their price match policy, when they let you use it. I find that most things you can get at Michaels you can get at other stores for the price after you use the coupon. For example Michaels has a fabric cutting mat for $80, with 60% off coupon it comes to $32; at walmart, the same mat is $33. You end up saving a dollar or two, but most times its not worth going out of the way.

Always a blast to go with my wife on little dates to Michaels. They seem to have everything you need for whatever Arts and Crafts thing you got going on. Would definitely recommend.
