Went to get an estimate for some exhaust work. He did not look at the car and gave me an extremely high quote.I spoke to someone standing around about the quality of the work. They said he does very good work, but I will never know due to the quote.
They did an amazing job with my exhaust! They were really quick and I didnt even need an appointment. The prices were really good for what youre getting. They can pretty much do anything from deletes to full custom stainless steel work.
Ive been a regular here since 2012 or 2013 since before they were located in college park. Ive taken at least 7 vehicles here to have custom exhaust work done over the years and was pleased every time. Only thing Ive ever had to go back for was a broken exhaust hanger which was taken care of by Rob or Carlos. Will be a returning for future projects!
Have had some work done with Auto mufflers in the past but at their other location. Went to the College Park one this time as it’s closer to home. I wanted to change the sound of my car but needed some recommendations, which they provided me with and I took them up on! Glad I did cause now it’s sounding Just like what I wanted! Fast and efficient service and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Excellent service, great price, and as efficient as possible. Had one car in front of me, getting some nice pipes by the way, and pull up to pull out was only about 30 mins with no appointment. Had my G35x back purring in no time.
I had them do a muffler/resonator delete on my F-150. The work they did was great and the cost was fair. The reason I’m writing a review is because while I was there an old man brought his Lexus into the shop complaining of an exhaust leak. He said that another shop told him it would be 800 dollars to fix. After kustom Auto looked at his vehicle they told him “there is nothing wrong with your vehicle and we can’t take your money”, the old man then asked how much did he owe them for the diagnosis And they said you don’t owe us anything. In today’s day and age it’s hard to find people who are genuinely honest, but these guys are. The guys at Kustom Auto are honest, hard working, and kind. If you need a custom exhaust or exhaust repair Definitely give them a call.

Everyone likes a good long term review.Went in for custom work. Resonator would be removed and replaced with a custom Y-pipe made in house. I have access to a vehicle lift, after getting my car up in the air and further inspecting many of the welds are contaminated which have started to rust from improper to lack of prep. This has also confirmed my suspicions of an exhaust leak with about a dime sized hole in the Y-pipe created by Auto Mufflers. This work was completed about 2 years ago on my car which is not winter driven but does see some rain.I would not recommend this shop to anyone for advanced custom work.2 Stars because they did what was agreed upon for a reasonable price.The poor welds, kinked piping, as well as extra cuts from not disassembling the exhaust system to fully welds up the pipes is unacceptable.Only come here for basic jobs.Example: muffler replacement, custom exhaust tip.In conclusion I wouldnt return to this shop.
ROB is the man for any custom Exhaust. He is the best around. These guys know what there doing., they were born to do this.
As always, I called around for estimates. I didnt bother to get one at Auto Mufflers because I saw quickly that these people are experts, not just trained to find a broken part and replace it in the manner of the national franchises, but really knowledgeable and skilled at everything about exhaust systems. I think they build custom systems and are enthusiasts. When they said they might be able to weld it, I was sold. They repaired rather than replaced, and their charge was about 1/3 of the lowest other estimate from a run-of-the-mill muffler service. The wait was minimal. They are expert muffler people who do custom mufflers. I feel lucky I found them--Im thrilled with the work and the cost. Also, bad Mapquest guidance got me close but not to the shop, and they even came out to lead me out of the wilderness. Really nice people, as well as experts. Negative reviews without hard facts about the service often come from flawed personal relations, and its hard to know whos at fault. This shop does terrific work, and they were very nice to everyone I saw them interact with. My wait was VERY short.
These guys kept it real with me. And gave an awesome price I couldn’t beat! In comparison to the other shop I’ve been to they charged me over $1k. Highly recommend these guys. Good work.

Shop was left unattended and after waiting for the owner to get a quote he closed down the shop and left saying he had an emergency during business hours.
Wendy is amazing, Carlos does great work, and the prices are fantastic! My car failed a safety inspection because of a hole where muffler meets pipe, and I was able to get it replaced/repaired less than 30 minutes after they had it up on the lift and for less money than I expected. This is a small shop with super nice owners, and theres no doubt Ill be using them in the future for any exhaust work I need done on a vehicle.
This shop is the best spot for custom exhaust for everything from JDM’s, Euro’s, Muscles and tuners. Carlos did a fantastic job on my muffler delete and taught me some cool stuff I didn’t know. He works with true knowledge and expertise as well as with passion. Prices are spot on and install duration time is even better.Cannot stress this enough...this is the place to go. Ask for Carlos.

Paid $250 for muffler delete & even provided my own exhaust tip. Terrible work done on my car, the whole exhaust fell the next month. They did not weld to hold my exhaust well enough. Was very disappointed, had to go to another muffler shop in town to get it done right.

Great service and reasonable prices. I called this shop trying to get a muffler delete and get a new exhaust tip on my 2014 Scion tC. I was sent pictures of exhaust tips and got an appointment the same day. The job was done quickly and at a good price. I totally recommend this shop!

These guys are legit. Went there for muffler deletes on my Saab. They were even able to install a resonator from the AWD version of the car and somehow made it fit and look nice (my car being FWD). Car sounds excellent now!

Im running on hard times and these guys were amazingly helpful. I had a rusted on down pipe that had sheared and they took it off while saving the O2 sensor and installed the replacement part for $30. They were accommodating and really really helpful. Best money Ive spent on auto repair
After seeing all the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to try Auto Mufflers. I called earlier in the week to confirm that they would be open after Thanksgiving and was given a quote of $90 to fix gap by my muffler. Just to make sure they were still open after the holiday, I called the day of to confirm that they were open and even made an appointment to come in. They then also gave me a price quote of $100 to fix my muffler. I figured it would still be worth it despite them increasing the initial price quote. When I came at the appointed time, the office was locked and no one was there. I called the office number and got a hold of someone who said that the mechanic was off in the morning but should be there. She said that she would call me back to see what was going on. I waited 15 minutes and no phone call back, so I call them back and three times, my calls were sent directly to voicemail. No one had the courtesy to call me which I think is beyond rude and unprofessional. Glad that I didnt end up getting work done there as the estimate wasnt even consistent over the phone and that they did even have the common courtesy to call me to let me know that no one was going to be there or followup after I had called.
I brought my 2013 mustang in for a full exhaust headers and all. Carlos and his guy got the job And I picked the car up a day later. Now a day goes by and I realize it doesn’t sound right and somthing is wrong. I go ahead and check out my car a notice my driver side header is missing bolts and coming apart. I called up Carlos and told them I had an issue and they couldn’t see me until later in the week. Not offering to tow my vehicle in or anything. So I take it to the closet shop to get fixed so I can prevent further damage. I proceed to try and contact Carlos and he told me he used a mechanic he normal don’t use and he didn’t use the correct bolts because the guy said so. I then explained well let’s work out give me a small amount back so You can right the wrong that you guys did and pay to get it fixed. That was not Carlos call so he explained I had to speak to the owner. After just over a week they would not return my calls and they would send my calls to voicemail. I used my friends phone and got through to them. Carlos once again said he spoke to the owner and he would have her call me. Days go by and still dodging my calls. Finally I call and the owner picks up. I explain once again the situation and what I’m asking and she explains she would have towed my vehicle “which no one offered” I was told to drive it in. And she would not refund me anything because I used another shop to fix their problem. They didn’t use the correct bolts on my headers and they used some random mechanic and won’t work with me on fixing all their wrongs. I went to the closest shop so I one could prevent anymore damage and two it’s my only vehicle and need it fixed ASAP. Never will I go back to auto mufflers the owner is beyond unprofessional and doesn’t know what customer service is. The 100% customers satisfaction they claim is far from it. Save your money and take your work to anywhere but to this shop. Trust me you will regret doing business here.
Auto Mufflers delivers quick and excellent service. It is not often that you find a shop that can deliver the service at the price they provide.I came into the shop for an estimate to repair a loud exhaust and 30 minutes later I left with a fixed exhaust. They lifted the car and showed the portion of the exhaust that was damaged. It was clear that this shop knows what they are doing. They are capable of also doing some very good custom work. There were some cars in the shop getting nice custom installs.
I called up the shop to let them know i was coming. And 30min later i arrive at their shop and everybody except one employee was conveniently on lunch break at 3:30 in the afternoon. So i waited approximately 1hr and asked again for service from the muffler guys and i was repeatedly told wait 30min. Also everyone there acted like they didnt work there. As far as im concerned Ill never go here again.
Had a universal catalytic convert replaced on my 2003 Saab for much much cheaper than what other mechanics were quoting me (over 1k for a full unit specific to saab+labor). and I passed my Maryland State Emissions test because of the repairs, so I consider this a 5 star :-)
They hooked me up with a serious exhaust and catered to everything i wanted until i was happy. i highly recommend auto muffler.
Put in a new muffler on my 2016 Veloster turbo. Got me in and out in less than an hour. They did excellent work and great customer service. I will always go back to them for any body work I want done.

Rolled up at 5pm. needed a simple exhaust repair. the guy gave me two options to fix it. i chose the cheaper one. said it would take thirty minutes. it took thirty minutes. very reasonably priced. overall a good experience. would do business with again

I went to Auto Mufflers to replace the cat-back exhaust system on my F-150. Not only did they replace my exhaust system for nearly half the cost that I was quoted by a national chain store, but they went out of their way to complete the work for me around my tight schedule. Their location is a bit off the beaten path, but their prices are reasonable and customer service is outstanding.
I go today to take off my muffler the person who worked there was very dry in dealing with me and before i go there i call one day before ask him about how much cost me he said 150$ and he charge me 220$ 👎🏻
**edited**Other people that work in the shop prob do hell of a great job, but Carlos doesnt seem to care, took my beemer in there to get my mufflers out. Didnt seem like he care on whether or not the job was done properly as long as he got it done ASAP. Didnt even paint it to prevent rust. Left pipes uneven. I understand some jobs dont require that long to get done, but even then you can do it right. Money wise, it wasnt a problem for me. He charged me the $180 without tips (which is what he quoted me when I called and asked without tips on the same day I got it done). The money wasnt a problem for me, so youre probably confusing me with another customer who didnt call ahead of time to ask. But the quality of the work is what matters, regardless of whether or not its a small job that may take less than 30mins. The job looks terrible I can put it on the lift and take pictures for you. Took it to another shop to remove my resonator to bend the pipes over the crossbar since he decided to not lift the pipes back up to the level they use to be, everytime I drove my car in comfort, the pipes and crossbar kept touching and vibrated like hell. Also a professional would know where and what to cut, he was getting ready to cut my mufflers due to the fact that he didnt know how to remove a screw from both rear rubber hangers. I stopped him and told him to cut them instead, otherwise I would have to pay for a full set of mufflers if I ever decided to switch back. Also you were not present at the time he worked on my car. I dont recall there being anyone but Carlos in the shop, you definitely couldnt have had been hiding in the restroom. he arrived conveniently after waiting for 5mins outside the shop, so please dont speak as if you were present and do not try to jump into conclusions as to what customers can and cant afford. Im not here to despute for refund or to redo the work. But to make you the owner and other customers who have intention of going here aware of the quality of work. You can keep my money, I can care less. Wish you guys good luck with your business if this is the route you guys decide to take with customer service.

My mechanic told me I should get my muffler checked as I may need a new muffler and it would be costly but maybe someone could repair it. I took it to another mechanic hoping they could repair it but they said they weren’t able to and a new one would cost $2,000. Wasn’t willing to buy a new one as my car is a 2004 and has over 100,000 miles on it. Found this place online and I’m glad I did (at least as of today). Dropped my car off yesterday - a Sunday - so I wouldn’t have to go out in the am - I live in DC - and picked it up today, very convenient and efficient. Carlos welded the muffler and made the repairs. Now the dreadful noise is gone. Hopefully it can last another year when I’m ready to buy another car.

Really happy with the work done to my car
I saw in their Mission that says is to make sure your vehicle is serviced properly on time. However, that was way opposite to me. I been waiting 45 mints since he told me to wait until the lifter been empty for the cars. and then he came besides my car and I ask him in case you here the after market excuseds noise, he told me to get off the car and he ride on it. He just reverse and I went to him to ride in the passenger side. He just slammed it in the first and second gear really hard like as he racing on it. I was like he man calm down you do not need hit that hard to hear the noise. Basically you can hear the noise at 2000 rpm. he did not listen to me and return back to his shop and said there is nothing wrong with it. I told him okay lets put it in the lifter so we can see the what is going on it since the previous one did not weld it real good. He said no, I am busy, I have 5 cars after you. I looked back and I saw no cars after me. So, I decide to leave so he would not damage my car if we been negotiate like that.So, basically he just test drive my 2015 Mustang to enjoy it and he cannot fix it. So he just enjoy test drive like in drag race.Just be aware from him guys that he would damage your car.Also, He is so damn rude and unprofessional to deal with. I am just wondering why they are giving him a high rate!!
Amazing!!’ Some people from my car club go to a auto Mufflers to get their cars worked on and Carlos is absolutely amazing! He’s very knowledgable and works very quickly. I first called him to see if he could install a mini bullet(i had the part) & he said he could! I went to him to have it installed on my mid mufflers on my 2018 Challenger. He installed it within an hour at a very good rate.After the installation, I expressed to him I MAY want something even LOUDER. But I would give the bullet a try for a few days. I love the bullet but I just wanted something louder. So I went back literally 2 days later and got a straight pipe done. Took about an hour! He cut off my mini bullets and straight piped everything. The resonators had an O2 sensor and I was very worried about throwing a CEL code. But he was able to do what he does and make sure it didn’t throw the code. So far I’m in LOVE with the straight pipe & his work. I have recommended him to a lot of my other Mopar friends. Will be going back in the future if I need anything!Definitely recommend!!!!! I called Auto Mufflers and left a voicemail regarding some welding I wanted done. I had installed a downpipe on my mk6 GTI, and needed a portion welded so it could be connected to the muffler. Carlos called back within 15 minutes and quoted me, and told me to come whenever I can. I came right over, and my car was in the lift within 10 minutes. He was really friendly and informative, and had my exhaust all hooked up within an hour of me calling him. It would be unreasonable to expect a better shopping experience than this, anywhere you go. Will be seeing Carlos for all my future welding needs!
