Going to fix a boat is usually not good for me until I went to Capital District Marine and talked to AL. He fixes, winterizes, stores, and gets it ready for spring. The only place I trust for my boat repair around here. He even took the boat to make sure he fixed it and got it working correctly. Also, very responsive, have excellent service and will always answer the phone or call back. Also, treated like a family.I highly recommend this place, especially for new boat owners like us.

I was looking for a used fishing boat and I went to this establishment to look at one that they had listed on craigslist I met the owner Al Weber who showed me the boat went over all the features of it and even hook the boat up and took me out on the river to make sure that this was the boat I was interested in and it had everything I was looking for . Al told me that he likes to take people out to try the boat before they buy it so that you can see firsthand how it will perform in the water. After taking the boat out we bought it and it was nice to see that they cleaned it up before we took it and made sureThat things were in good working order I have to say I’m very happy with this boat and with the professionalism and service provided by capital District marina I would recommend them to anybody it was a great experience then I will be going back to let them service my boat in the future

Needed some electrical work and parts replacement for my boat. This is my second time at this shop and, once again, the experience was great. The folks here are fast, friendly, and they get the job done with total satisfaction. Prices are very reasonable. These guys even helped to locate new parts and equipment during a time when demand was great and supply was low. They got my boat back up and running in tip top shape in time for boating season. This shop is definitely my to go place for any future needs.

We purchased a 2003 Mercury outboard from the marina for our 1962 aluminum Duratech runabout. The marina installed the motor and made any modifications needed to make the new motor fit the vintage boat. The work was done well and quickly. The motor is everything that was promised. The boat is great fun to take out on the lake now! We are extremely pleased.

I picked up my boat from Capital District Marina this week and I have to say that the owner, Al was exceptional. The quote he quoted me was not only less than other marina in the area but exact. He even went one step further and serviced my boat at no additional charge. The floor replacement was professional and the engine work has my boat running smoothly. Very trust worthy business. Thank you!!!

I purchased a used boat from Yankee Boat in Lake George. I had to bring it back to them a couple of times for warranty work, however I needed to find someone local for general maintenance. Capital District Marine was recommended to me by a friend and Im glad he did. As a first time boat owner I had a bit to learn. Al Weber, the owner, couldnt have been more helpful answering my questions. My first winter with the boat Al serviced, shrink wrapped and stored it. The cost was reasonable and competitive. Since then Ive had a couple of things I needed repaired. The repairs were always done right, within the time frame he said and I never experienced a surprise when I got the bill. I highly recommend Capital District Marine.

Ive been doing business with Al since he opened in 1986. My boats have been winterized at his shop every year since then and I have never had a problem. His mechanics have always been the best in my opinion. My first boat went 25 years before I traded it in on a newer/bigger/better. As far as I know, that first boat is still going 32 years later. The second boat I bought from Al has been great including winterizations and all other services. No business lasts 30 years by trying to cheat their customers! Theres two sides to every story. I highly recommend Capital District Marina.

I can not say enough of how impressed I was with this facility and Al. I had an issue with my boat and knowing some repair facilities that sell or fix things you do not need , I was looking for a place that had their act together. I was refereed to Capital District Marine Sales by a good friend that I have complete trust in. I will say that I was not disappointed. Al is up front honest and fair with his pricing. He and his top rated mechanic found the issue and did not try to fix things that did not need fixing just to add more to the bill. Boats are not like cars and it takes bit longer to get to servicing them. Al kept in contact to let me know when they will get to diagnostic the issue and when he had to test it out, he called to say he had to get a truck as his other one was on the road with a delivery . Al went out of his way to make sure I had the boat back in decent time . He treats you like a real person and not an inconvenience. Being in and around boats for 47 years , I have had many horror stories of repair facilities. How refreshing to have a place Like Capital District Marine Sales and Al that are truly honest , reliable, fair . Not only that but Al takes his time to explain to you about the repair and to share his knowledge of boats and boating. If anyone has ever felt being taken advantage of at other boat repair facilities, PLEASE go to Capital District Marine Sales . You will not be disappointed and may even say why did I not go here before . I know I will be back for any service or repairs needed .

BUYER BEWARE! I cant believe that these guys are an Authorized Minn Kota Service Center! So I brought my trolling motor in there yesterday and they told me $275 to fix it.Today I go in to pick it up and not have them do the work. All the mechanic said he did was “hook it to a battery and try it.” That takes about 2 minutes! Then after he went in the office and Al gave him a new work order that didn’t have my writing that said CALL BEDORE DOING ANY WORK) on it, they charged me $81!I asked “why because you only hooked it up to power you said?” The mechanic then followed in line with his boss to say how they did all this diagnostic work. The guy Al there was very sneaky and I hope they’re happy. Their integrity just got bought really cheap and this review on Google is spot on.Edit: Yep...and we just took the motor apart today. It wasnt even what they said it was. It was the magnet inside the housing. It had a huge crack and was gouged really bad; they never even mentioned that because they never took it apart. It just proves even more how much of a rip off Al is at Capital District Marina!

Don’t go here.I had my boat winterized and discovered they never disconnected the battery or took it out of the boat.Due to their neglect, I now have to buy a new battery. I talked to Al, and he gave me a bunch of silly excuses as to why my battery doesn’t work, and why they do not disconnect them. It’s science: a discharged battery stored in the cold will crack and be destroyed. Leaving my battery connected in my boat drained the battery, and a cold winter destroyed the battery. He was not willing to compromise on a resolution. He eventually ended up hanging up the phone on me.This place is dishonest and unprofessional.Go somewhere else.

I bought a used boat, 2004 ZX250, from Al 3 years ago and I have had it serviced, winterized and stored at the Cohoes location each year. The boat runs great and the service has been outstanding. I drop it off each fall, pick it up in the spring and Al has it ready to go. Any maintenance that becomes necessary during the season is completed promptly and efficiently. Service charges are fair and reasonable.I have been thoroughly satisfied with Capital District Marina sales and service. Eventually I will buy a new Skeeter bass boat and I plan to purchase it from Al.

I have been a customer of Capital District Marine for close to 10 years now. Every year they winterize and shrink wrap my 21 foot Stingray with Mercury Mercruiser Engine. Every spring I am able to drop my boat in the water after removing shrinkwrap with no problems at all. Al Weber has performed service on my Mercruiser without any issues. I would recommend Al and his services to anyone , as I have found them to be upfront and always took care of any issues I have had with my mercruiser. Al is local guy that will go out of his way to help you.

I have an old Mirrorcraft 16ft aluminum boat with a 60hp Mercury outboard motor. Al has serviced it for years and I have had very few issues. Al is getting on in years as we all are and sometimes forgets. One time he actually came to my home and picked up my boat for something that was overlooked. I would rather go here than the big resellers. Plus I get to swap stories about where the fish were!

We were referred to Capital District Marina to have our boat serviced and winterized for the winter. This was the first time we decided to use them instead of Albany Marine. The only reason we did decide to use them in the first place was because they advertise on their website FREE STORAGE AVAILABLE! That stuck out like a sore thumb as we needed storage and had paid for it in the past, we thought this was an awesome deal and dropped our boat off in November. Now in the past, we have always dropped our boat off for winterization and always paid the bill at time of pick up (after the winter months). Well apparently Capital District Marina is really hard up this year because they sent us numerous letters in the mail stating they want to collect out $600 for the service that was completed. We dropped off in Nov with plans to pick up in May like we do every year. Well what does AL at the marina do.... He sends us another letter in the mail stating because we had not picked up and paid the $600 bill he is now trying to charge us $4700 in storage fees!!!! WTF?! You must be crazy. I dont even know how the hell he even calculated such a fee. We will be getting lawyers involved and contacting the better business bureau and the attorney general office on this one. We have tons of family in the law enforcement fields that agree this is absurd. We also know tons of people with boats and will make sure we spread the word to not do business with Capital District Marina! Worst service we have ever experienced. All this over $600?!? Really..... I feel sorry for you and your business! Like the guy below me said WORD IS OUT ON THE DOCKS FOR SURE!!!!
